Eric however basically thinks he is some sort of unrecognised, unfairly treated genius. The fact that the "scientific establishment" doesn't just drop everything immediately in order to learn from his mighty intellect is what makes him upset. He only wants recognition so he can satisfy his gigantic ego. It's ridicoulus...
@@EscSteve I'm not a physicist, so I can't speak on the merits of Geometric Unity. Considering how Eric's brother has been treated by academia, I can understand his fruatration, though. I guess it all comes down to whether you believe the stories, and whether your faith in the universities has already been tarnished by seeing the influence of critical theory (and the many academics and intellectuals who are revolting against it). The video is clever, but it is also quite misandrist. I think it's harmful to mock attempts at unifying theories, although I'm sure Hossenfelder has her reasons for her critique. I also think it's odd for Hossenfelder to mock Wolfram, who has contributed so much more to science than she has. Complaining about men wanting to be her friend is also odd. These men are often looking for female scientists of merit to speak on their shows, because they aren't that many, and it is terrible PR not to include them. The song's clever and quirky, but it's also hiding behind woke protection to spew chauvinism that would have been considered unacceptable if directed at anyone other than white men.

I have been following Sabine the theoretical theorist for some time. Had NO IDEA she could sing, also! Made my day. Thank you.
My absolute new favorite song! You are so great thank you for making videos and doing your thing ❤
Oh, so very well done, Sabine! I love the takedown of these (of course, all guys 😄🤪🙄) 'theoreticians' who seem to think you should fall to your knees in awe of their, um, brilliance. _~standing ovation~_
What a great vid I can certainly understand her frustrations.
Oh good! A Sabine singing video!
Sabine, I love you so much. Thanks for posting this.
How cool is it seeing Sabine dropping a diss track?😂
I love your mindset, Sabine... I'm studying physics, starting next year... Mostly for having observed your passion for physics - and style. Thank you for being such an inspiration.
Gauntlets thrown!
ADDENDUM : will we see iambic pentameter from Eric?
Your background choir is always fantastic.
"Eric..., an Einstein with a W not someone to forget...."
You hit the nail right on the head with that one line. That's exactly what he wants to be, the next Einstein.
Every physicist wants to be the next Einstein. We should all be hoping for the next Einstein.
@@Galdring I guess every physicist has dreamt about being the next Einstein. Just like everyone has at some point dreamt about being rich or famous.
@@EscSteve That was very well put - I was just going to say that he's an insufferable asshole!
@@daveseddon5227 How eloquent, Dave.
Thanks, this put a smile on my face just when I needed it most :)

Physics, the game where everyone chases shadows on the wall :)
Wow! This was pretty good! 😃
That was great.
"Trying to capture the Physicists' precise Mathematical description of the Quantum World with our crude words and mental images is like playing Chopin with a boxing glove on one hand and a catcher's mitt on the other."
George Johnson
Sooo good!
Can you imagine Eric's face as he watches this video for the first time? hahaha
Never understood groupies - now I am one. You are amazing! Appreciate your work, wit, intelligence & humor. Thanks!
Amazing singing
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen
Then you haven't seen much : )
It made my universe.. Sabine is everything
Making music is a joy and a bit of a release isn't it? I really enjoyed your song and hope your message hits the intended target. I have to say, I don't think I have ever heard a torch song done with such a mild demeanor. You might have found a new niche there. That look you gave with your head nodding at the end was priceless lol - that was a clear sign of a firm position. Well done!
first time i've heard 'torch song' used to mean 'blowtorch song' LOL
I just love how you take all this unscientific "physics" so lightly. I'd have lost my temper much sooner.
If you can’t tell, she loses her temper quite often.
Do you think that someone who still has their temper writes songs like this? 😂
@@JayVal90 I don't doubt she has lost her temper more than once about this. Nonetheless, she can sing such a lighthearted song about such a frustrating topic. I find that admirable!
Sabine - thanks this totally great!! - I just recently discovered your many posts - so amazing and clear on a communication level on such a range of scientific and technical subjects. A friend told me about this music video - after watching a few times - i am self contemplating - I think you may also be referencing someone like myself who has large ideas in a different field than physics - mine is architecture and urban planning -visions and strategies developed over many years in urban planning and design to address Climate Change - through the design and development of 21st Century Carbon Neutral Smart Cities - to address what I have defined as -The Critical Challenges of the 20th Century. The reaction when I get going on this subject from some women, in particular- can be very much like yours in this video. I would bet most of these brilliant men enjoyed this and like you even better though - for this most creative music video that expresses your feelings. I know I do. Thanks for all you are creating and doing - all the best - Christopher
My Theory of Everything is: you rock!
You are one of the most unique people on Earth! I admire you so much!
"Don't send them to me." Literally physics simping.
They are all SIMPS
I hope they dont start seeing her as physics-tsundere
Thanks Sabine! Nice to see you having fun and sharing your musical talent. Loved it!
Savage...and glorious!
Brava Sabine!! How can you not LOVE that?! Friggin' awesome. This has sealed my membership in the Sabine Hossenfelder Fan Club. Now, if I could only understand a fraction of her physics lectures...
After seeing the credits, a new theory of everything: Sabine Hossenfelder
Oh what fun
"He's rooting for E8" - As in "root lattice of type E8"? Was it intended?
As in "root diagram"
You have a sweet singing voice, wow.
Großartig!
Ok, I read in a bio of you you were also a musician so I had to look up music videos involving you and this one came up first.
Hey, I like your voice! This was a lot of fun, too. I love your attitude. You seriously know how to take life seriously, but not TOO seriously.
A certain Buddhist Professor goes to a hot dog stand and the vendor asks her "Hey lady what can I make ya?".
"Make me one with everything" replies the Professor.
Bin durch den letzten Minkorrekt hier gelandet und hab seitdem nen echt hartnäckigen Ohrwurm. Danke dafür!
Now, I want response from Eric and Wolf.. haha
Gah! you're the best of all time, between you being incredibly intelligent (how I first found you), to your music talents. Such a crazy mix, but utterly entertaining on both aspects.
