He clearly wasn't thinking when he made that decision to bring the Ukrainian girl. You should consult your wife (or husband) first before making arrangements to have someone live in your house. It's not just about him cheating. If you have someone else in your house (male or female) from another country, you have to feed them and look after them. It's a lot of money to spend.
You are right. but his wife is obviously jealous. it was obvious that they could keep the Ukrainian in his house as long as the duration of the competition but she did not want by pure jealousy. I, as a woman, I could feel it more than anything. She found his behavior doubtful as to think of betrayal. Because if it was only by spending money by taking care of the Ukrainian, they have not gone to a psychologist to resolve the situation.
Could you blame the wife? She's 40, her husband is 33. I can definitely understand her, she's older than her husband and a 21-year-old woman could be a temptation for every man. I mean, 40 years vs 21 years... who would you choose?

I don't think she was jealous (imo jealous is the wrong term for this situation), I think she was insecure and didn't want to have an environment (a 21 year old white professional dancer girl living in their house) that would make it easier to cheat and circumstances that would make it more tempting to do so.
She might not necessarily think he's going to cheat 100% for sure, she just didn't want to risk it. And him arranging all of that behind her back can seem really suspicious.
So he's either pretty stupid and clueless for thinking it would be okay to arrange the stay, or he's a potential cheater. Neither are good situations.
In the netherlands we have a saying " don't tie the cat to the bacon" if you don't want the cat to eat the bacon, that really applies to why she didn't want the 21 year old staying with them. If you don't want your husband to cheat, don't make it easier and more tempting for him to do so.

I think she got mad because he didn't tell her about the girl before. Like she said, who would take care of the girl? Live with a person that you don't know can be hard. He should have told her before, not expect that she would know. I also understand his side, he really needs a partner :/ I hope they can solve this problem soon...

I know of a couple who was dating for 10 years. They decided to join a dance class for fun. Unfortunately the boyfriend fell in love with another female dancer, He said he loved the way she smelled while holding her close to him. You can never control who you fall in love with and Jenya's wife is rightful to be worried.
Why did he think going behind his wife's back to bring over a 21yr old woman to live with them, would be okay!? Then he acts like he did nothing wrong and his wife ends up feeling like she's holding him back. Sorry that's not cool at all. You never bring another woman into your home, nope.
I mean maybe I'm more laid back but seriously he didn't have any intention besides dancing with her. His wife knows that's his dream. While I understand why she would be mad, she should trust her husband, he isn't trying to do anything with the 21 year old dancer.

This has nothing to do with jealousy. It was mainly about him doing everything with his mom WITHOUT involving his wife! She clearly didn’t oppose of the idea of having a partner from Ukraine and perhaps she would have been ok having her there as a guess, it was simply excluding her in a major decision especially if he is so passionate about dancing! I hope she gave him the opportunity to earn her trust again and I hope he includes her in all major decisions.
I’ll tell you this much, if it was me, I would have made sure I made my point across and then found a solution to have him compete one last and final time!

being 8 years in korea it's quite a long time.
8 years is quite irrelevant considering there are many people having hard time speaking basic Korean even when they live in Korea for over 10 years. Especially when your spouse speaks their language.

it's common sense to discuss a matter like this with each other. when was he planning on telling her that he is brining a girl from his home place. you can't just tell her the day before the girl is coming to Korea that's not right.
I think he was playing innocent while he knows he was guilty of not telling his wife soon before she found out.
but i also understand why he didn't tell her sooner since she seems very controlling but there should be equality in marriage and you have to understand each other and discuss important matters like brining a girl to live with them specially she speaks his language and not Korean.

This guy is crazy! Totally inappropriate! No normal woman would accept a 21 year old woman stranger into their family home to live unless she was stupid. I seriously do not understand the Ukrainian mother-in-law that wants to send him the 21 year old dancer. Also, let’s not ignore the fact there could be inappropriate chemistry between the the dance partners, humans have no way of controlling this even if they love their spouse. It’s the nature of being human. Decent people back off and check themselves when this happens and yes it happens to everyone, bad people cheat on their spouse.
Nice start to the weekend watching my favorite show. I think the situation with the girl partner really shows their age gap she see potential problem and he's totally naive. I wouldn't have another woman stay at a married man's house unless it was mom/sis too great of a temptation. Girl partner could stay in shared hostel where foreigners/Ukraines stay that way she wouldn't be too dependent at all on Jenya. Korea has many types of accommodations it's just about finding right one. I still think his wife would make a better partner they look good together.

It's jealousy and insecurity since that girl is half her age. I'll be honest and say I'll be extremely mad if I was in the same situation too. Even if the girl didn't live with them, he would have to help the girl out in every single way which would still probably cause a fight between the husband and wife regardless.

I´m so sorry for his wife. She is such a beautiful woman and mother. I understand her tears. I know her husband wants to Dance again. But I doubt that´s not a very good idea to invite this young Dance Partner from Russia. She´s supposed to live in the same appartment like he and his wife?! No way. How old is he that he still makes decisions with his mom? He has a wife and should talk with her!!! I personally couldn´t forgive him for applying for a Visa for this new dance partner. If that's the case, then he should've held out for that "perfect" partner, whatever the hell that is, before deciding to marry a girl who is not even a professional ballroom dance. (Maybe he had an ulterior motive to marrying her, specifically, to get that all-powerful yet elusive F-6 spousal visa that allows foreign spouses to stay in Korea as permanent residents indefinitely -- even after a divorce.
Another thing, at 196 cm (6'7"), he's not going to find anyone in Korea, especially where the average height of Korean women is about 155 cm (5'1"). Furthermore, his analogy of a soccer player without a soccer ball being like a pro-dancer w/o a partner is really quite reprehensible and revolting. Dance - unlike soccer - is not just an artform or in his words, a sport, it is also a kind of foreplay and the ultimate metaphor for sex. For him to even think that he can bring a 21-year-old Ukrainian woman over to Korea as his dance partner and have her shack up with him and his wife while they train is also really disgusting and shows how depraved and reprobate his thinking is as well as completely disrespectful of his wife.
This is especially taboo in Korea which has a history of concubinage. For him to introduce another woman into his household as his own personal "soccer ball" would be abhorrent to any right-minded or sane Korean woman in this day and age. Jenya is not only really stupid, he's kind of an egotistical and selfish feral animal.
I can't imagine this kind of relationship between Jenya and his wife having any kind of longevity, as it is quite obvious that Jenya was using his wife from the beginning -- to escape an overbearing mother in Ukraine, to get an F-6 visa spousal visa so he can stay in Korea indefinitely, to use her resources so he can sponsor a Ukrainian dancer so he can get a shot of winning some competition, which has nothing to do with Korea or his family. For sure, they must be divorced by now.

I think the wife is not in a good frame of mind with her husband, after all if she is a professional dancer as well, she should me more understanding, having a professional dancer husband she should know that dancing is his life but as well as a way to better his financial gain. There is this Korean guy who appeared on this show with his Russian wife called Vica who is a professional dancer maybe they should pair up since they both have passion for dancing.
