Grazie! Ciao! E .. arrivederci a un altra vita, fratello!❤🤗
I just started a rewatch of Lost after 10 years. Thanks to your channel reviving my interest. It's been fun so far, and I'm glad I can pair my rewatch with your videos.
I love the evolution of Jin's and Sun's love story and it was definitely both the actors' best work. I feel like Sun's father's heavy industry company could have been perfectly involved with the lore, Hanso, Dharma, Widmore or any combination of those but that idea was somehow abandoned for one reason or another. I also feel like the Man in Black could have been named Esau (yes, THAT Jacob and Esau!!) but that it may cause controversy and upset some devout Christians so the writers abandoned that idea at some point. But how Lost's lore might literally tie into some classical biblical characters and events like that could have been very interesting indeed!
I love this episode, and I love your breakdown/analysis on it. I'm currently rewatching with my girlfriend, who hasn't seen it before, so it's nice to have these videos to fill in the gaps between episodes!
One of the things I felt really sorry about was that John Locke became the man in black. I would have wanted to know how he would have reacted to everything as himself. Edited to say: your analysis is absolutely brilliant!
Yes!!!!! Another video... it's like when a new episode came out 20 years ago! Maybe not that long... I saw a flash. I wish I could be wisked away to a special place that could offer spiritual awakening. Even if my sacrifice went towards a greater good
Another great thought-provoking video keeping LOST alive. Great summary on Sun & JIn as their relationship evolved to become a key part of the LOST mythology as they became interwoven as a key team. Their tragic fate was indicated as they were a key number in the SWAN STATION clock computer reboot sequence of 6 numbers (Top Candidates to replace Jacob) represented by the number 42 (in Korea 4 sounds like their word for Death and there were 2 Kwons). In Korea building floor numbers with 4 are usually skipped-like 13th Floor in US in college I worked in a 13 story building that skipped from 12 to 14) In the end Sun & Jin reunited in the purgatory sideways universe before joining other key characters as they moved in the LIGHT. So in the end, their story had a happy ending.
I failed ! I said to myself I'll pace my umpteenth rewatch of the show to your episode guide releases....and...I watched The New Man In Charge Last Night ! Seriously dude thank you for carrying on with these I was getting worried someone had tossed you down a Well , thankfully Rose and Bernard found you. Excellent break down as usual Brother. I got to the 28 minute mark and thought "Hang on surely he's not going to forget about Jacks dumb guess about the age of Adam & Eve" and then you go and give me juicy backstory about the intial plans for the skeltons identities. If they ever make anything LOST related again, the producers/show runners really should get you onboard.
I really appreciate your awesome comment ✊ You can expect me to cover a new episode in the guide once every month. Slowly but surely making our way through the series. The Moth will fly in November and Confidence Man will show up in time for the holidays.
I appreciate that it’s a long wait between videos. But try to think of it as getting a LOST related treat once a month. Something to look forward to and savour.
While occasionally mentioned over the show, Jin never got enough credit for essentially keeping everyone alive as the only person who knew how to fish.
Interesting take on Jin. I never thought his job for Suns father hardened him, more that he began to hate himself bacause of the job and couldnt be honest with Sun because he didnt knew about her toxic relationship with her father. I think he wanted to protect Mr Paik as a father figure for Sun (and himself)
I agree that he did start to hate himself, but his self-loathing was a direct result of the violence he was perpetrating on others for Mr. Paik. And the only reason he was doing this was to ultimately be worthy of Sun and the Paik family dynasty. I think the key line in this episode that speaks to his frame of mind is when Sun demands to know what work he does for her father and he replies: "I do whatever your father tells me. I do it for us." Which he says with resentment in his voice. I read that line delivery as: "I do these horrible things so that we can stay together." He might be trying to protect Sun from the truth about her father (which she ironically already knows) but that breeds resentment. It is why he starts to act cruelly towards her IMO.
@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 I alwys thought Jin beat up a guy for the first time in this episode and until this moment he didnt knew what Mr. Paik really wanted from him or what a monster he was. And following this i thought his words and behaviour came through confusion and the struggle to comprehend what he did and what a man Mr. Paik was and how to tell Sun
Yes, I think it’s implied that this was his first time roughing someone up, although we don’t know what else he had been doing for Paik beforehand or how much he knew about the shady business practices. We don’t actually see Jin’s side of the story in this episode anyway, not until his centric story later in the season. Basically, Jin beats up the factory guy in order to save him from being executed by one of Paik’s hitmen. This is the first time Jin is ever tasked with being party to a murder. And that is when he realises what he will have to do to stay with Sun. Not just beat people up but potentially kill them. Hence his line to her in the bathroom: “I do this for us.” When I talk about Jin being hardened by violence in the video, it is in reference to his months/years of service to Mr. Paik. So by the time we meet him and Sun on The Island, he has become darker and a more controlling and resentful person towards her.
the "what if Walt had allergies?" entry on that thoughts & ideas document made me burst out laughing. like how totally random and what would that even mean
I think they actually deployed that allergies idea to some extent with Shannon and her asthma in 'Confidence Man'. All of these problem-of-the-week plotlines were part of the old school way of making self-contained television episodes, which was what most shows were up until the 2000s. But it was hard to do that with a Castaway-style story, so they had to think up a whole lot of "Oh no, Timmy's fallen down the well" type of dilemmas for that first season, just in case the network put the brakes on too much serialisation of the cooler mystery/genre elements. We are lucky we never got the episode idea about everyone dealing with severe sunburn!
I get it's a play on the word Sun but I found the name kinda odd as. Rising sun is a very Japanese phrase. And Korea and Japan don’t have very good history at all
I know what you mean. I honestly think they chose this title predominantly because of the pun on Sun. There are multiple episodes where the title is clearly the result of them throwing around phrases and words with double meanings in the writersroom: Whatever the *Case* May Be *Lock*down The *Other* Woman Some Like It *Hoth* *Re*con, etc.
When the show started, I hated Jin. I just thought he was such a dick. But as they showed his, and well both of their, backstories you saw what turned him into that and you saw he actually loved her deeply. Early in the series, you just thought he was a controlling husband. THAT is character development.
Don't laugh. But I just finished watching threw the series. Loved it! Instantly RUclipsd Lost and found this channel. Great analysis breakdown. And a buttload of it.
First of all, put your back down. Second of all, I don’t know what you mean by “cover myself”? I explain Jin’s bad behaviour in terms of the character’s psychology, and why he acts like does, but that doesn’t mean his bad behaviour is excusable. Neither is yours for that matter. Put your manners back in.
I don’t care what Jin the actor says about his character now. Of course he will say that now, current day Hollywood is woke garbage. The reason lost is so perfect is because it was written before the world became woke. When men could act like men and women could act like women.
The fact that you're actively making videos about LOST means everything
wake up babe new lost explained just dropped

So many elements of redemption in their story. I love their journey together. LOST Explained does them justice.

I love the care & knowledge of these videos

Seing a new video of yours pop up always is a huuuuuge treat for the diehard lostie that I am, so thanks!
My fave channel on youtube!!! yes yes yes i love this video thank youuu
0:19 still one of the scariest scenes in the show for me. the fact that he is just inside that house in the middle of the night is very eerie
Absolutely love these videos, please keep it up🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Mate, Love this. You're a legend for representing us Losties with these analysis / keeping Lost alive. Big ups from Australia.
One of the things I felt really sorry about was that John Locke became the man in black. I would have wanted to know how he would have reacted to everything as himself.
Edited to say: your analysis is absolutely brilliant!
Alex and Karl... that ones pretty brutal. They never had a chance. That one was almost a Shakespearian tragedy.
Yes!!!!! Another video... it's like when a new episode came out 20 years ago! Maybe not that long... I saw a flash. I wish I could be wisked away to a special place that could offer spiritual awakening. Even if my sacrifice went towards a greater good
Damn bro, I love Sun so so much. Listening to her pleading to Jin at 3:54 always breaks my heart. Beautifuly written and acted imo
I will love these videos and watch them no matter how many you make and how much I already know. ❤

Man waiting for these to drop once a month is kinda rough ngl 😅

Yeah, I loved Jin and Sun. When they died in the sub, I was crushed.
It was such a tragic scene.
While occasionally mentioned over the show, Jin never got enough credit for essentially keeping everyone alive as the only person who knew how to fish.
Good point! Locke got all the credit for feeding the group but Jin’s fishing was just as important. #Justice4Jin

Guys, we might get Confidence Man by Christmas/New Years 🤞😍 I look forward to these videos so much!
Yes, that’s the plan! The Moth in November and Confidence Man in December. 🙏
The bees...weren't even dangerous

Ironically I didn’t like them as a couple much until they were separated
Absence makes the heart grow fonder!
Also, you should finish your videos with "see you in another life, brothar"
Haha, I could not do justice to that iconic line!

woah woah woah, what happened to the episode guides bruh? im loving those!
This *is* the episode guide. Last one I made before this was on Episode Five ‘White Rabbit’ and this one is on Episode Six ‘House of the Rising Sun’.

i also think.main plan is adam eve (jin and sun ).and her daugher /son may be some of the main character .😊
Why do you feel the need to cover yourself when explaining Jinn's behavior? Have some backbone.
First of all, put your back down. Second of all, I don’t know what you mean by “cover myself”? I explain Jin’s bad behaviour in terms of the character’s psychology, and why he acts like does, but that doesn’t mean his bad behaviour is excusable.
