Including Metallic Madness Act 2?
Metallic Madness #2 is actually my favorite song! Shame about the rap though, that makes it hard to cover.
It's because it has such strong lead melodies. They have clear pop-style melody progressions, with some jazz touches here and there for color. It's very similar to how the first and second games are composed.

Mirage Saloon Act 2 is my favorite song from Sonic Mania, tied with Lava Reef Act 1. So glad to see an 8 Bit remix of it! Nice work.

He did it in famitracker, so it's pretty evidently the NES' sound capabilities. So much so this could be played on actual hardware (I know because I use famitracker myself).
