No right hand at all -- this kid is a joke. What a murder of a good Evans tune -- horn soloists trotting out their usual crap and trying to make it fit rather than using the nuances of the harmony. Enjoy!
I thought the piano was somewhat accurate to the changes. But when the piano player or horn player took certain liberties with chords they are communicating ideas i feel as if they were communicating ideas and patterns with the rest of the band... i wonder who wrote the arrangement
Walter Blanding smile just makes my day, 0:29
What a beautiful sound Walter Blanding has, regardless of his old double lip technique.
His technique suits his vintage Conn perfectly...😏
I just find it amazing that Joey has such a mature sound at such a young age!!
yea i love his mouthpiece
@@themusicmega2 Eventhough you're likely being sarcastic yes, piano players have their own sound.

Joey is joey, but props to that bass. Carried the whole tune and then some
Carlos!!!!!!
Blending's solo is intriguing to me in a way. It fascinates the way he approaches his solo on Very Early for some reason or another.
I wonder if this was the only Bill Evans tune played by the JLCO since its inception.
Watching in 2021, I looked up Joey Alexander and was in awe he was only 17. But this was recorded 5 years ago! He was 13 at the time, inspiring!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way Ali Jackson is comping behind Joey, super tasty
Incredible. So young, and it just comes to you.
Seventh heaven
Wonderful, so many stars, but Joey stands out here, but that was the purpose.
beautiful

🌳🌸🌲😀
Who is playing the flute? His name is not there.
The names listed there are the performer's main instrument in the band. But it's Ted Nash playing flute there
Thank you. Really amazing.

I can't believe this kid is on a band with a bunch of grown ups lmao 😂😂

First Amendment. Love that you stand up for the Evans tune.
