Thank you for covering this. My sister had a friend who’s husband shot and killed her and then himself all while their 3 year old was watching. It’s so important that people know the warning signs before it’s too late. God bless you, Dr. Honda.
I'm so sorry you and your family went through that, that's horrific. My father was very abusive held a gun to Mom's head in front of me and my brother once, then he said it was a joke. He hit her in front of us too. I am fortunate that we are alive.
Unfortunately there are many cases where this happened. I'm so glad people like Dr. Honda are trying to educate the public so we know what the signs are.
So glad she's taking steps to take her power back. It was so smart for her to take this call on stream. I hope his life is ruined and he never outruns this. I hope he suffers forever
Then he'll just keep abusing people. It would be better that he gets the treatment that he so sorely needs for as long as he needs and finally heals his trauma to a point where he will never feel even a compulsion to turn to this abusive behavior.
This guy is unhinged. I do not believe he will stop. This is terrifying. Local law enforcements attitude towards women has barely gotten past asking a woman what was she wearing after being sexually assaulted. If she’s an only fans professional I believe she will be dismissed immediately. Dr.Kirk thank you for exposing and educating the public via your channel. Your work here is paramount helping victims not to be ignored or silenced. 🙏 Thank you
“Fun” fact: in one of John Oliver’s newer videos he talks about Law and order SVU, and mentions how the cast has extensively talked about how cops have come up to them and told them they got their education on sex crimes through the show…
My partner likened it to sex trafficking, if even just a little of the OnlyFans stuff was his idea. No such thing as consent if it's under duress or threat of consequence.
As an adult entertainment performer by choice myself? The situation with her is horrendous. She needs out & he needs to be banned from social media & flagged.
He threatened to send her horses to a meat packing factory. She went live the next day showing her horses, so they were fine in case anyone was worried. Her dogs were also fine and they are “separated” he’s gone to get help, she is seeking legal counsel and taking a break from social media. I never followed her streams but I tuned in when she was with her horses and people were saying how it was a totally different stream, there were still, some disgusting people in the chat. I think the text alerts are bc she’s now always at her computer during the stream, but also twitch subs love having their favorite streamer giving them a “shoutout” so I think that’s a factor too.
I am so glad you're reacting to this. This whole situation is extremely upsetting, but some of the reactions calling her a liar or that she deserves it are even more upsetting than the situation itself in some ways. I have a friend who thinks that all of this is a publicity stunt - the call was faked (a recording or an actor), the texts were faked, the stories are all lies - and I just cannot believe that people can see this and be convinced someone would do this for attention and clout. Imagine how elaborate it would need to be, on top of all the other reasons that would be completely insane. Unrelated but also LOL at Kirk getting annoyed at the sub sound and saying something like "why would you need a sound to play when you subscribe?" not realizing that one of the big reasons people subscribe on twitch is because of a chance to get momentary attention from the streamer lol. I am fairly certain that without the sounds and text to speech and everything else donations and subscriptions would drop significantly across the whole platform
These types of arguments are so weird to me. She's already a super successful streamer. She didn't need to pull a publicity stunt and, if anything, airing this could harm her image/brand/success whatever people are describing this as. Like I see a whole bunch of downsides to her lying about something like this and not many upsides.
I really love and appreciate your take on so many topics, but this has been the best series of reaction videos you've made. I was in shock, and scared to see someone go through this, but I think your perspective on how abusers behave and why, is so compelling and important for people to be aware of. This could happen to anyone, and it's truly horrifying. Thank you for your work.🙏
Agreed. My marriage was like this so hearing him analyze things really gave me good insight, I’m in therapy bc I’ve been married twice and married the same type of guy both times but the second marriage was this bad (the first one he was unmedicated bipolar) but my second husband was sociopathic like this guy and it was so terrifying. Abuse needs light shined on it, and abusers need to be put in the uncomfortable spotlight… I think people don’t realize how common abuse is which is just awful.
@@megorex630 I'm so sorry you went through this, I can't begin to imagine what that must've been like. I hope all is well now, sending you lots of positive vibes✨
I don't think she has a good support system. One of the people in the chat said go to your family or something and she just said "What good would that do" or something like that. It also seemed like he didnt let her have friends. I think that's why that guy was going so hard in this abuse cuz she didnt really have people to protect her i think all she really had was her platform and her audience
Here in Texas it is pretty hard to get help in these situations, especially since her main claim to fame is Only Fans. Law enforcement in the Houston area tends to treat anyone even tangentially related to sex work as not worthy of help. That said, they've been married (according to their local court docs) since like 2015, and there's at least one old Twitter from years ago of the husband's out there where he is acting in a very similar way to this video
If they got married in 2015, then she was 18 or 19 when she married him....poor girl has been trapped since she was a teenager. I hope she finds peace.
It is an absolute nightmare getting out of an abusive situation in Texas. Here in Houston, I've called the cops when I was abused and they made the situation so much worse instead of helping. I'm not even a s*x worker. Then we're asked a million times, "why don't you just leave?" and as soon as you leave, your kids get partial custody unsupervised with your abuser, you may get killed or you're scared you will and you're constantly having to watch your back for that, the control gets so much worse, and your kids may even be taken away because "you let the abuser abuse you in front of them". It's Hell.
@@brendamertes9472 not in Texas, but my father did that to my mother. She couldn't leave because then he would get us part time. She suffered to keep us as safe as she could. I hope you find peace as well and that you and your babies are safe.
It's nearly impossible to get any help for women unless so.thing happens to u physical (like near death it feel like) then and only them will they help
Thank you for covering this. I’m so sorry to Amoranth for what she’s had to deal with and whatever else she will have to go through to be safe. There’s a lot of people who second guess themselves on if they are being abused, if they can trust their own emotions, memory, intelligence, etc, and I hope they are able to use videos like this to validate their feelings and get out of a harmful situation. This recently happened to me early in a relationship, and I had already cut the person off but this was very validating that I’m not just a crazy mentally ill person, but actually made the right decision based on the other persons behaviour.
"Shakes fist at Twitch" XD That is twitch for you - instant gratification and attention, despite a horrifying situation. That subscriber message is text-to-speech. People can write a message that will be read out loud, which can be fun, but in this instance just inappropriate.
Not sure if you've already gotten the background on this, Dr Honda. But she was already streaming, got the berating call from the husband and was on the line for an hour before deciding to unmute the phone and play it for the stream.
I think she was asking him to repeat a lot of shit he said so her reactions weren’t as genuine. He’s still awful and disgusting but I think there is more than just what she’s putting out.
Ugh she should not have put up with that nonsense for even two minutes. The guy was in a full on tantrum. Always ignore tantrums. Whatever you do when they’re 3, you do when they’re 33. Because no 33 year old should be throwing tantrums and it’s not advisable to reward bad behaviour:
@@JamesCourse66 which doesn’t matter at all. If you get ragy enough to behave in the irrational and batshit crazy way he did, you leave the call. His behaviour is not justified. There is zero context that makes his explosive, embarrassing tantrum appropriate.
@@BeckBeckGo THIS. He was having an absolute meltdown. This is time to get off the phone and go do something else to calm yourself down. It's called being an adult and not a textbook extreme abuser.
Phone grabbing is a big red flag. When I tried to leave my ex, first thing he did was snatch mine & smash it into pieces. He then proceeded to beat me & hold me captive so yeah y’all need to be taking that seriously. I’m lucky my dad heard enough of the call to know what was up & come kick the door in but not everyone will get that chance.
I think she was doing this video, to ousted all the things he did, and be able to share it with the world, her fan all in one stream. I think it had to be this way for her because she could not afford to do multiple streams and share little by little. She knows that if she does not air everything out now, her abusive/ rage-ful husband would use everything she holds back as a weapon to manipulate or sabotage her. I saw my mother going through this before. She has to air out all her laundry/ all the abuse and conflict to my extended family immediately before my father did. Or else, he still has power over her and take advantage of her secret. This is in a sense, showing all the hands you are dealt
I was in a situation like this but without the fame and money - all the recordings I made went nowhere and yet I was still attacked for them, and I just cut my losses and ran.
I'm happy she is separated and getting help in multiple forms. Dr. Honda, could you explain more about the erosion of a person's willingness to leave over time? Has there been research done into this?
For me, it was cuz I kept telling myself "I've already invested my time, effort and money into the relationship, I don't want it to fail. I don't want to let go, what if it gets, better and me letting go is just gonna make all my efforts go to waste?" So the longer the relationship went, with the insane ups and downs and abuse. I still stayed, thinking one day he'll change and he'll stop. There's a word for this I think, and I think Dr. Honda has mentioned this in one of his videos a long time ago. Sorry, I can't remember the name of this phenomenon nor the name of the video I heard him talk about this. It was a long time ago when I saw that video.
I thank you for reacting to this. It was pretty hard to get through but you have taught me so much about a personality that has existed in my life in one form or another since before I can remember. Please don't listen to anyone who criticizes you for posting this. You have helped me immensely and I am forever grateful.
I knew someone who’s husband gaslight & abused her. Then eventually killed her and multiple people who were at her home, hours after she left court w/PO. His dad didn’t think he was a problem so gave him access to weapons he was not allowed to access. I hope she got away from this POS.
I went through a really similar situation when I was young, it was my first relationship so I didn't realize that it wasn't normal. Although extremely triggering, it was cathartic to watch this video and your commentary because it explained everything I went through and gave me a new perspective on everything and new found appreciation for where I'm at in life now. I still struggle with mental health stemming from that abuse so I feel awful for her that it's going to ake so long to heal. There's hope now that she's out, I just hope she doesn't go back. I went back twice before being able to fully leave. It's the reality of abuse, it's so insidious and pervasive.
It makes a more sense why she couldn't just take off and leave the guy if he was threatening ALL of her animals. Dogs are pretty easy to put in a car and leave with. Horses are a very different story, even if she is boarding them at a stable. Poor Amouranth :(
My gosh this is so scary and sad. Thank you so much for educating us Dr Kirk. You really bring the concepts to life by reacting to things we can use as shared references. It’s so important to help us recognize these behaviours and patterns because abuse looks so different in different contexts.
By the way, I’ve never heard of this woman before but holy cow I’m glad you’re addressing this because it is VERY common, both in marriages and in dating relationships. I’ve been there, in her place. Thank you Dr. Honda! 💙💙
To give a little bit of clarity with the horse meat packing thing a lot of retired old race, horses, or old lesson horses will be sold for slaughter to Mexico and Canada to be processed into meat. I used to work with an organization that rescue horses from these horrible slaughterhouses. It was the hardest job I’ve ever had
I am glad for her that has documented this, it takes his power away. That being said doing so may also push him to the next level. I hope she can get some personal security. She just let people know she was married. Part of her "deal" is being the hot chick and outing yourself as married will take away some of the viewership. I feel that as she started gaining popularity he started to get more and more controlling as he had more access and got more involved in her business.
While these videos have been really hard to watch, I appreciate the commentary on it. I went through almost exactly the same type of abuse with an ex, and I’ll be the first to say it’s extremely difficult to gauge reality after a while. It’s super important to see this from an outside perspective to validate the victim’s experience and to make it easier for other people to spot abuse when it happens. I’m relieved to know that her and her animals are safe.
My pets got me out of my dv relationship too! Not sure if that’s the case here but once they were getting threatened that’s when I left. I look at them like my little life savers now
So for anyone who watches this according to her he pushed her into sex work on only fans and is controlling that, made her stream even to having the lack of sleep and mandated her ability to wear clothes(only revealing ones) on her not explicit streams on twitch. And she does seem to be okay and safe now, with financial and creative control again
The music that you hear is an a sub alert.. people usually like to get noticed by their favourite creator or even have them say thank you for your sub "including the person's name".. it's just a way to show appreciation to subscribers. While the sound of the voice speaking is just reading messages that the viewers sent using money.. so they don't get unnoticed among the chat / get some sort of recognition or a shoutout
That same thing happened with my ex in HS. He abused me so much then, the moment he threatened to kill my dog I called it off took all the precautions and left him.
I personally believe that becoming a dog owner was an important step towards me learning to set boundaries w family members and in general. The micro aggressions and emotional abuse was something I had gotten used to. But the minute someone looked at my dog in a funny way, my momma bear was unleashed. He was and is 100p off limits, which I believe guided me into a headspace of realizing that I can in fact tell people off and deny them access to me and the people I care about, if their behavior is not approbiate.
Honestly, I feel like these kinds of videos are extremely helpful. Cuz I was aware of abuse and what it could look like, I managed to get out before I put a ring on it or have kids. It's cuz it was never really physical, just a lot of mental and emotional abuse, I couldn't see the signs that were there from the very beginning. I was ready to marry that man even when he was already starting to do some shitty stuff, thinking "ah it's not that bad." while he gaslighted me. It's only when it got so bad that it was obvious to the friends around me that I realized what was going on. A friend one day asked me if I still wanted to marry my ex, and realizing the answer was no due to fear that I'll end up on the news one day, was what got me to have enough courage to leave before I was tied down for good. We need to talk about these things more and bring more awareness to them, even if it's a very hard and ugly thing to talk about. It can save lives.
I have a question just about couples therapy in general. Will therapists ever suggest or decide that it would just be best for a couple to split up if it’s truly a bad and/or toxic/abusive relationship? Or will therapist continue to try and find a way to make it work? Also, what are some things I can look/listen for or some questions I can ask that will help me find a good therapist? I really want to be in therapy but I dont know if there are enough GOOD therapists out there and I feel skeptical that any therapist I choose is truly going to WANT and/or BE ABLE TO genuinely help me and one day my relationship. What are some things that I can look for that would let me know whether a therapist is legit or good or trustworthy? Or are there things I should be aware of that maybe is a sign that a therapist ISNT good? Should I shop for therapists? Is that even ok? I want to be in therapy so bad but dont even know where to start. I have no support system whatsoever, limited resources and am currently on AHCCCS which is AZs state insurance program like Medi Cal. Any advice would be so appreciated. Thank you in advance
Getting a good therapist is like dating, absolutely shop around for the right one. I don't have any tips to choose the right one, but I encourage you to get that info and keep looking until you click with one.
Hey Lisa, I can't tell you about your first question but the second. Finding a good therapist that fits you can be tricky. You might start and then it does not quite work or you start and it's amazing. I can tell you that it's okay to not get along with your therapist and wanting to switch. Please do not feel discouraged. There's no tips or tricks to find a good therapist, it's really about having a few sessions and seeing if it works. I wish you best of luck.
I've seen some couples therapists saying that they absolutely can and do suggest a couple breaking up if there's no way to compromise or work through a situation that's happening. So that absolutely IS an option that they might recommend if they think that it is for the best. Obviously not EVERY couple's therapist and I'm sure that it depends entirely on the couple and the issues that they're having. But from what I've seen online, some of them absolutely do say "Hey this relationship just isn't working guys. Break up".
That sound file that's playing on twitch is subscriber comments. People send money to comment like that. It's practical for when you're gaming and can't read comments all the time. But yeah, it sounds awful and is very hard to interpret, twitch should have better text-to-speech sound system.

Sorry to make a silly comment on such a serious video. I just wanted to offer a perspective for you as a Twitch streamer and user. The subscriptions on twitch are the same as "joining" here on RUclips so there is a monetary support to the streamer. Following on twitch is the equivalent to Subscriptions on RUclips. Now as far as the alerts (the music and announcements), often when we are streaming there is a lot going on that you must pay attention to, the game or content you are making/playing, the live chat that you use to engage with your viewers and other things like your framerate and technical stuff. So, at least for me and I am a tiny, tiny, tiny streamer, the alerts help give recognition when we cannot or for us to even be able to notice and say thank you. Often for large donations or normal subscriptions streamers give the viewers a chance to add a message that plays with TTS so that is the annoying voice you hear. Lol
This is not a criticism and I don't know why, but her crying pleading whiny tone triggers me just as much as his fake high falsetto yelling. There is a lot to be upset by, but does anyone else feel this way specifically?
To me, it's just a really uncomfortable situation to be witnessing. I hate seeing anyone fight, but seeing someone in such clear distress triggers my empathy. It's like watching someone kick a puppy and not being able to do anything about it. It seems so obvious that he has the upper hand, and I just want it to stop. She seems so confused and demoralized and I can relate to that feeling of trying your hardest not to cry and not being able to, of being seen as weak because you can't 'control your emotions.' Idk what it is for you, but that's why my anxiety goes into overdrive whenever she speaks in that tone.

Sadly, over the years, as the Dr. said, he just learned more ways to break her down so he'll have more control. Firstly, by putting her body out like that he prevented her from being able to take on a lot of other careers. Secondly, he gained the passwords to all of her account to control both her money and what she displayed. I am really sorry that that hpnd to your sister and her baby and you. I hope you have peace.
Oh my dog I’m so sorry about your sister and I hope the poor kid is doing relatively okay now
I'm so sorry you and your family went through that, that's horrific. My father was very abusive held a gun to Mom's head in front of me and my brother once, then he said it was a joke. He hit her in front of us too. I am fortunate that we are alive.
wow. i have a family member that has nearly that same situation. makes me tear up how far abuse can go.
I knew someone, her husband did kill her cat after threatening to do so. Take this stuff very seriously
Threats are just warning to what they will do.
@@7o7Dsy yup, they wouldn't say those things unless they think they could do it
Unfortunately there are many cases where this happened. I'm so glad people like Dr. Honda are trying to educate the public so we know what the signs are.
Serial killer energy
Thank you
“Fun” fact: in one of John Oliver’s newer videos he talks about Law and order SVU, and mentions how the cast has extensively talked about how cops have come up to them and told them they got their education on sex crimes through the show…
My partner likened it to sex trafficking, if even just a little of the OnlyFans stuff was his idea. No such thing as consent if it's under duress or threat of consequence.
I find that there is a lot of domestic violence and sex trafficking crossover in the recovery stage. There can be a coercive sexual dynamic in DV.
Thank you for covering this, it needs a psychologist analysis to raise awareness. Thank you
I am so glad you're reacting to this.
Sooo weird
Accurate with the Twitch thoughts.
@@AwesomeJudaline This is unfortunately exactly what I'm doing. I'm suffering to keep my kids safe. Thank you for your kindness!
We need more therapists like you.
That makes more sense, because it all pretty gross.
Sorry. The amber heards of the world make getting evidence look like a setup
I’m so sorry you went through that shit, I hope you’re in a better place now
I'm happy she is separated and getting help in multiple forms. Dr. Honda, could you explain more about the erosion of a person's willingness to leave over time? Has there been research done into this?
Learned Helplessness?
@@RBNY That's a good one to explain this.
Police were called. They did nothing
wow, that's horrible
Color me unsurprised
I thank you for reacting to this. It was pretty hard to get through but you have taught me so much about a personality that has existed in my life in one form or another since before I can remember. Please don't listen to anyone who criticizes you for posting this. You have helped me immensely and I am forever grateful.
thank you for covering this! its important to have qualified people commenting on this as well as commentary youtubers.
I hope she sues him and he ends up in jail and pays her all the money he stole and for all the trauma and abuse he inflicted over her
I knew someone who’s husband gaslight & abused her. Then eventually killed her and multiple people who were at her home, hours after she left court w/PO. His dad didn’t think he was a problem so gave him access to weapons he was not allowed to access. I hope she got away from this POS.
This is trafficking
I was in multiple relationships like that - that’s what I thought was normal for a long time . Ty for covering this -
I am glad for her that has documented this, it takes his power away.
The end of the live is terrifying
I went through something similar for 7 years. It takes years to recover. Thank you so much for covering this subject in all of its ugliness.
I look at them like my little life savers now
the texting the support system thing backfired for me. turned out to be his support system.
'Old Man Shakes Fist at Twitch Chat'
Thank you for covering this.
Tf is with the text messages omg, the desperation and the lack of restrain omg
I personally believe that becoming a dog owner was an important step towards me learning to set boundaries w family members and in general. The micro aggressions and emotional abuse was something I had gotten used to. But the minute someone looked at my dog in a funny way, my momma bear was unleashed. He was and is 100p off limits, which I believe guided me into a headspace of realizing that I can in fact tell people off and deny them access to me and the people I care about, if their behavior is not approbiate.
I appreciate you doing this video so much
I really enjoyed your coverage of this topic
Break up".
Ughhh....
As a Survivor of DV, my heart goes out to her.
Does anybody know if she's still with the guy, or if she got out?
That sound file that's playing on twitch is subscriber comments. People send money to comment like that. It's practical for when you're gaming and can't read comments all the time. But yeah, it sounds awful and is very hard to interpret, twitch should have better text-to-speech sound system.
Just discovered your channel and I love it‘

I needed to see this ❤
Sorry to make a silly comment on such a serious video.

I don't, but maybe you've witnessed this kind of relationship between two people, so she would trigger you, too?
I know what you are saying and I absolutely agree. His screaming and her childish whining
Kinda like her fear and hurt is contagious
To me, it's just a really uncomfortable situation to be witnessing. I hate seeing anyone fight, but seeing someone in such clear distress triggers my empathy. It's like watching someone kick a puppy and not being able to do anything about it. It seems so obvious that he has the upper hand, and I just want it to stop. She seems so confused and demoralized and I can relate to that feeling of trying your hardest not to cry and not being able to, of being seen as weak because you can't 'control your emotions.'

These are your typical abusive tactics.
They know that once they put hands on you it's jail time so they destroy, damage, or move your stuff to make your life inconvenient.
I can tell this has been going since the beginning of their relationship.
Only thing is, she didn't get out but try to please him to go back to the loving kind man that she thought he was but he never was (aka, loving bombing).
Sadly, over the years, as the Dr. said, he just learned more ways to break her down so he'll have more control.
Firstly, by putting her body out like that he prevented her from being able to take on a lot of other careers. Secondly, he gained the passwords to all of her account to control both her money and what she displayed. Third, he isolated her by ensuring she would do most of her stuff near or in his presence and always away from others.
Only Fans is done at home mostly and away from seeing eyes. So how would anyone be able to help her if no one knew and she couldn't tell.
The only reason we know now is because the threat of him hurting her dogs gave her the strength to defend herself against his onslaught of abuse.
It so upsetting she had to make it public for her to leave. Guess that's one way to have those rose colored glasses ripped off.
Lol what
