I painted your red cardinal. I am going to paint this goldfinch after I watch this class again. To the rude one. Julia is giving all of us a lesson in watercolor for FREE. She is somone I respect and I enjoy her banter, her tallent, and her heart. Thank you Julia!

I thought that was a nasty comment! I was appalled that anyone could be that rude while you are giving freely of your knowledge to help us become more accomplished. I love hearing about YTers’ lives and thoughts it makes for a more cozy, personal experience. I’ve never been to any craft/art lessons where students didn’t hear about their teacher’ personal lives. I enjoyed the gingerbread house story ALOT. And I love the picture of the finch. I’m going to try that one. It would make a great Christmas card. Give your baby a hug from me!

I work in customer service and a customer said to me last week that I make a comment to everyone about something they are buying. They're common here in the North East USA. What I didn't know is that gold finches stay here in the winter, but their feather's fade to brown ! In the spring they slowly turn yellow again. Fascinating, I think. 😊

By the way your story about the brick wall made me chuckle. Made me think of a renovation my husband and I did. We replaced a window in our party room outside with a big glass door and the brick wall paper got ripped off so to fix it all back up I painted bricks and no one noticed it 😅

Have you tried dollar store art brushes?

No I've never used dollar store paint brushes - I'd be really impressed if someone could achieve high level of detail with them

I would so much rather listen to you than be forced to listen to music. That drives me insane and I have unsubscribed because of it. And this painting is lovely. I will try it soon. Thank you for sharing. And enjoy that baby! Infancy was my favorite part of motherhood; they are so precious and really need you. Just remember you can always put in a crib and close the door once basic needs are met. No child ever died of crying but many have succumbed to shaking and frustration. God bless you.

Don't watch the first 50 vides on this channel haha - I used to use music before doing real time! Thank you for the advice :)

Yes, whoever that was, was a definite troll for certain. It’s your tutorial. You talk about whatever you want.

What did you use for snow

    • @JuliaLisArt

opaque white watercolor or acrylic paint

@@JuliaLisArt l think white gouache would be better suited, as it's closer to watercolour than acrylic paint.

I like personal anecdotes. It's like spending time with a friend. There's a lot of ugliness on the internet.

Everything is explained in the tutorial. I never do vital steps without filming it

If she didn't, the pigment wouldn't flow like that, it would just remain as a blob. Wet-in-wet is hard, and she did a nice job of controlling the water and paints.

and Siri says… lol a bird’s feet are simply referred to as “feet” the claws on the end of a bird’s feet are called claws😃unless the bird is one of prey like an eagle, vulture or hawk then the claws are referred to as “talons” 👍
