I like Lea. Her diction is very clear and she does not “yell” like she’s going to blow her gasket like Other Filipino singers.
Lea is a Disney Collectible and a Broadway Theater Legend. As she got older she just harnessed her voice into so much power. It’s amazing

BTW Lea has a two princess in her, Jasmine and Mulan... She's a living legend. 🤩🤩🤩
Actually she's already a big part of the DISNEY'S LEGEND roster.
She was awarded the Disney Hall of Fame. She is still the only person who sang as two different Disney princesses (Idina Menzel has two Disney movies but she voiced the same character).
Also, a bit off-topic. She is also the only actress to play two different roles in the musical Les Miserables. She first played Eponine when she was younger. Then she was tapped to play Fantine when she was older. Just goes to show her versatility and how producers put their trust on her.

Thanks. Lovely singer--voice and feminine style. I noticed that she likes the open vowels with a wide lip aperture, but as you stated, each singer is different. It definitely works for her and this genre. Recommending Alison Krauss to analyze.

So lovely! A little too much vibrato though I would say. Her transitions are so clean😊
I noticed she had less vibrato when she was younger and a lot more as she got older. It must be a technique of saving her voice or must be just a change due to ageing. I’m not a pro so I’m not sure 😅 She sounds great either way anyway. ♥️
I know very little about the technicalities of singing, but I feel so validated hearing a professional have the exact same opinion as me regarding the way that Lea Salonga has changed her singing style over the years. It's such a shame that she started to belt more, that mixed, clear, vulnerable golden honey tone is true beauty.

Maybe She's a lyric. She rarely sings in that voice though. Search for her "vanilla ice cream" performance in one of her concerts. Also her duets with Daniel Rodriguez for songs Pie Jesu (andrew lloyd webber) and Panis Angelicus. You'll be surprised.

Broadway singers, and i assume Disney singers, MUST sing it they way the writers of the song wants it to be sung. The producers know how they want a song to be sung, and probably the singers have no latitude on the way it is sung.
