Plot of Mega Man 7 sounds strangely like the plot of Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13 (Which came out in Japan in 1992) which is the reference Johnny was getting at
+Shadowman245 I agree. I mean, the man is entitled to his own opinion and all that jazz (if there is a pun there I do not intend it) but to me all the Mega Man games were "Average" at worst (8 and 5...and maybe Mega Man and Bass. I do like what I have played of but the cheap-ish difficulty makes me a little wary) and "Awesome with a capital A" at best (Unlimited and 10 and 9 off the top of my head, though I haven't played the last two in a year or so, I do remember them being in that spot however). So far the game feels above-average at worst to me, much like 6, 4, 3, 1 and (cracks open a Flame Shield Monitor and shuts eyes tightly)...2...sure the game (7 in case you lost track) forgot to mention somethings (like the Battle Mode and Big Eddie's Shop) but you have to cut the game a bit of slack, It's development cycle was *three months*! If I could guess another reason for the overlooking of 7 besides jumping on Brent's bandwagon (that might have been a joke, because It's funny to say "____ sucks big dinosaur balls!") is that the other games are nostalgic to them and they didn't play it as a kid, but since nostalgia is (to me) a double-edged sword they gave the game the "bad end" of the sword. It also looks "cartoon-y" and some of the fans (NOT ALL, MIND YOU.) thought (as a kid at least) that the series was more "serious" (I personally like to think that the series is more subtle with it's seriousness then, say, Mega Man Zero) probably because of the bigger sprites. It also had only four Robot Masters on screen and that could rub some players the wrong way. Plus, it was released in the _very_ *deep* shadow of X and X2 and it didn't contain the same advancements for better or worse (though it did have plenty of it's own). I think it was all three reasons that the game felt "childish" at the time. Plus, I think we all go through a period where we agree with the common consensus because it's "cool", or we're too desperate to fit in to think for ourselves, or something. TL:DR? I think It's because it was unfairly judged at the time and some people love to jump on the "cool" bandwagons. Thank you for reading.
+Shadowman245 Yeah, I mean, I don't mind the art style of 9 and 10 and Unlimited (being 8-bit in spirit but not in limitation) but I always wondered what the art style would be if Inti Creates (or Capcom) choosed a more modern look. Oh well, at least there's Mighty Number 9. I have two questions if you don't mind. 1. Have you played Mega Man Unlimited? It's my personal favorite in the Classic series and I _highly_ recommend it to anyone who can run it. I know you must of heard about it's difficulty but honestly, if you keep a steady supply of E-tanks and W-tanks, and use the weapons your given it's not that bad, especially in Easy Mode (don't worry I won't judge you, after all, I used Easy Mode as well at first). 2. I kinda want to get into the X series but the biggest thing holding me back is that I know that some things about the plot that I shouldn't have and well...ever since I read what happened to Cosmo in Sonic X spoilers became something I fear. Is the story so well told that the spoilers don't matter like MOTHER 3 (or so the Earthbound fandom says)? Or, due to foolishness, did I just doom myself over?
***** Thanks for answering those questions dude! There's a reason I put Unlimited so high on the list is that it's *incredibly* polished, about as much as Mega Man 9 and 10, you'll honestly think that it's a lost Mega Man 11 or something. But take me advice, download the latest version (Version 1.3.1), it irons out not only the bugs, but the more "whiny" bits in the soundtrack. Also, funny thing, I _think_ I have the Gamecube version of Mega Man X Collection in storage (i'm on a holiday) but i'm glad to know that even if I don't there's a cheap alternative. Thanks for the suggestions!
+ChicagolandEye Same here, IMO the music is GREAT! And The S.Adapter KICKS ASS AND IT HAS BASS! Tho goddamn that Wily Difficulty spike caught me off guard
I still wonder why Brentalfloss says that this game "sucks big dinosaur balls". I have played this game and I think it is pretty good. It is easier than the previous titles, but it is good.
Yeah, II and VII are the only two games in the classic series I'm good at that I've played. Can't say the same for 1, 9 and 10 as I haven't played them. Waiting to be able to play WiiWare games on the Wii U.
Brentalfloss dumbs down things a lot usually, but for once I agree with him, MM7 was crap to me. The zoom-in compared to the NES games meant that if you kept the pace of earlier MMs, enemies would constantly rush out of the screen and hit you, so they needed to make a much slower-paced Megamann and this slowed down MM is incredibly boring. There's also a lot of repeating level design like the platforms in Cloud Man stage where you always have to make tight jumps or repeating set pieces like the dragon/worm enemies in Junk Man stage. It's an honestly completely boring MM to me and I'll never finish it.
Endlesswhiner VII is actually my second favourite Mega Man game behind II. It's relatively easy, making it good for newcoers to the series, the larger sprite and slower game speed isn't really an issue so the game is still fun. I would have a physical copy of the game if it wasn't more expensive than crack.
ZRandomGaming Yeah right. I saw over 40 people trying to get over the first intro stage, but failed. Its not in a video, it was a recording from one of my friends.
***** not the yellow devil. But the shadow devil. It hit fucking hard. Like the mech dragon do not touch it when it's formed. Also shadow devil's stage is a hard version of quick man's stage.
***** plz tell me that's a joke. If it isn't tjen why? The gate levels are so frustrating. Not to mention x6 has one of the most annoyingly hard maverick in the series (infinity mijinion) but he is easy compare to gate. I hate him so much.
"Burning Willy Fortress" Am I the only one imagining Megaman walking away from a giant flaming dong-tower? Also, I always hated playing the 16-bit Megaman games. it's not that the games were bad, it's just the size difference always screwed with me. It's like I was playing a regular Megaman game with the screen zoomed in. I always felt like I was playing the game through a pair of binoculars.
I may be a minority, but Mega Man 7 might be my favorite classic Mega Man game despite some ridiculously hard parts of the game. Very underrated and the soundtrack is amazing.
MM7 was a chore to play through from with bizzare robot masters which behave randomly should you not use their weakness (which makes every single of them a joke if you do btw) to the cheapest final boss ever. Didn't enjoy it a bit. Increadibly small stages, ridiculously huge sprites with questionable hitboxes and slow pacing. It's the most controversial gameplay wise entry even for me, an average megaman lover. No wonder some fans really hate it. The only redeeming quality is the graphics. MM7 looks gorgeous, can't deny it, even when compared with the X series.
@@immortalfrieza mm8,9,2 and 6 are my favorite megaman games. 7 isn't the worst megaman game(that goes to & bass.) but the x series is a better introduction of megaman to the snes and even without the bullshit wily fight, its pretty underwelming/lackluster compared to the other games though it has a charm i do like(megaman nearly considering shooting wily which foreshadows x along with power battle, the intro and ending theme, megamans bittersweet walk and everyone celebrating at the end, and the super adapter which i wish would come back in the series soon.:3)
@@VGHOST008 I think 7 is objectively the best, actually (I say "best" because it's still not my favorite). The robot masters all follow patterns, just like in the rest of the series, but none of them are complete pushovers this time, it probably has the highest quantity of good songs, there's tons of exploration to be done, every level is distinct, there's no bullshit difficulty, and there was an attempt to add some light story and depth to Mega Man's character.
Out of all the games in the Classic Mega Man series, Mega Man 7 is the only game that I find *criminally* underrated. I can understand people not liking/caring for 4-6 and even 8, but 7? I'm sorry, but the more I see this game swept under the rug as just "another Mega Man game," or "Mega Man fans" claim that it sucks just because it's not Mega Man 2, the more pissed off I get. Mega Man 7 is not only a fantastic game on its own merits, it's also one of my favorite Mega Man games of all time. One of the reasons I love this game so much is the exploration factor the game has. While it's not huge when it comes to secret areas, the fact that there are secrets to be found, some of which include new items and upgrades like the Homing Rocket Punch just adds to the replayability of the game. Another aspect I love about this game is the visual style. There's just a lot of character in the animations in this game, even more so than the NES games which had a surprising amount of character just for 8-bit sprites. I find a lot of the stages to be very well designed and fun to play. Are some of them a little too familiar? Maybe, but it's that good type of familiar, where it's familiar, but fresh at the same time, with each stage having it's own unique obstacles, and even homages to previous games, mostly 2 (*is unsure how to feel about that*). The weapon system, while not outstanding, is pretty decent, with the added help of Mega Man and Dr. Light explaining the basic and special effects of what the weapons do. I'd rank the soundtrack the same way; not outstanding, but has some awesome songs, with Slash Man's theme and Wily Stage 1 being my personal favorites from this soundtrack. The inclusion of Bass and Treble was handled well, and the fight between Super Adaptor Mega Man and Bass combined with Treble is one of my favorite moments in the series. The Robot Master cast is also a favorite of mine, with my personal favorites being Shade Man, Burst Man, and yes, Spring Man. I also love how this game encompasses the new mechanics with the old. Rush is a prime example of this, as the old Rush Jet and Rush Coil are in this game, as well as the new Rush Search and the Super Adaptor. This game also takes inspiration from World's 4 and 5 (Mega Man IV and V for the Game Boy), with the shop, secrets, and 4 Robot Masters at a time, which while it doesn't bother me that much, I wish all 8 Robot Masters could have been available. My only major complaint with this game is how its finale is handled. Yeah, it is kind of badass seeing Mega Man wanting to kill Wily, but this is out of character for Rock. I get that after 7 (more if you include the Game Boy World games, the Wily Tower portion of The Wily Wars, etc), Rock will have enough of Wily's bullshit, but wanting to kill Wily, even after being told by Wily that Mega Man can't kill him, is a little out of character if you ask me, and I wouldn't mind so much if it was handled better. I don't know, have a mini scene at the end with Mega Man wishing he could have captured Wily at the moment or something? I know this complaint is incredibly superficial, especially since 8 in terms of story, was a disappointing continuation, but that's the story nut in me going off. Overall, Mega Man 7 is a game that nobody should overlook, and it's one of the best gems I've ever played from the sadly underrated Mega Man library. While 3 will always be my favorite Mega Man game and Classic Mega Man game, 7 is a very close second, and dare I say, is the best designed game in the series overall. I can't express how much I love 7, so I'll just leave this comment by saying this: Please play this game. *Big watery eyes*
Well, for one thing, id say that you could do well as a reviewer from that alone, and for another thing, I dont think Bass and Treble were implemented that well, you meet them in the intro level and then they dissapear until Shade Mans level, and then after beating the last Robot Master (which very much could be Shade Man) you learn that hes Wilys bot, and I think he could have been a better rival character if he were introduced in say, 5, because I think he falls into the same pitfall Axl does in the X series, his introduction wasnt until the 7th game and then he didnt do much, as Bass was only in a few scenes of 8, only cameoed in 9, and was DLC, meaning he had no plot signifigance in 10, but if he were introduced earlyer, he would have more time to develop as a character, and maybe even be the antagonist of 5 or 6 if he was introduced by then
Well I never played this game it is sad that this game is swept under the rug all the time. From what I've seen this game and mega man 9 looks like I would enjoy these games a lot
It feels weird watching Johnny's reviews of 6 and 7 because he says they never got digital rereleases but in the present day, we have Wii U/3DS rereleases.
Its about a little more than that: You see, when this game first came out, people didn't like it much because it didn't really add anything revolutionary to the franchise. The comparisons with X happen because said game was released a year before 7 was, yet brought far more innovation to the franchise. 1-6 were already criticized for being too similar to each other, and compared to X, 7 is basically seen as a simple rehash of the 8-bit games and didn't do enough to make its own identity. Its a decent game on its own but when compared to other games , the "same old, same old" Classic series was pretty much dead & people were ready to move onto a new series in X that delivered something 7 didn't: something new. Samething applies to the 32-bit MM8 as well: Not enough innovation, among other reasons people hate the two games.
Funkermonster Ahh, okay, I get the comparison of X and 7 now but still. People are comparing games of 2 different franchises in one Series and that's not fair. Megaman X was not a sequel of Megaman 6, it was the start of a new series that was the succesor of the classic. Besides, Megaman was never about inevetion in each own series. Megaman 7 and 8 are great games, they are just not good sequels .
RokerFM_a3.4 It's all up to the individual, and everyone's gonna look at a game a different way. It might not be fair to you, but don't forget that if I see a game one way and you see it another way, neither of us is wrong but neither of us has the same experience either. If there was a truly objective way to look at a game, there'd be no need for reviews to start with. Just because it wasn't not about invention doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing or should be excused for it. Considering how its the usual complaint of the games by critics, many who already played 1-6 were just getting tired of its lack of innovation. When people only had so much money to spend, X's inventiveness just made it a more worthwhile purchase for most critics at the time, and comparisons were inevitable to happen like this even if they were different sub-series. There are other reasons why 7 is unpopular too: Oversized character sprites that weaken the level design, limiting you to only 4 Robot Masters at the start, and the intro stage with unskippable dialogue kill the pacing. I respect your opinion all the same though.
Looks like that digital rerelease eventually came some years after this video, via Legacy Collection 2. The Anniversary Collection devs didn't know how to properly emulate the SNES's graphics mode 7, which is why the credits were pared down like that.
Coming back to this video 7 years later and seeing Mega Man 7 at ONLY $100.00 is now quaint. Johnny should see the asking prices now (here's a hint, an average copy is now being sold in excess of $300.00).
Mega Man 7 for me is a masterpiece, how can people make an excellent game in just 3 months? It's simply incredible. The graphics, the secrets, the bosses are great. I don't understand why he is underestimated, he is much easier Than Mega Man 1-6. Although its last boss is difficult, but once you get used to it, the last boss becomes easy. Anyway, For me Mega Man 7 is the best game of all time. It's incredible.
Me after seeing Johnny's reaction to the hidden track after selecting Shade Man's stage: Don't worry Johnny you're not the ONLY ONE that has a serious beef with the Ghosts N' Goblins series. I've never made it past the first level when one of my relatives let me play. Didn't have much luck with Super Ghouls N' Ghosts either. The series is THAT hard. Not to mention the "WTF" moment where you have to go through the entire game again just to see the true ending. Hell, even Deadpool has a beef with said series which he actually brings up in Marvel VS Capcom 3 if the last fighter he takes down is Arthur. MvC has some kind of "post-battle victory still-shot quote" thing after the victory animation where the controlled character says something. In Deadpool's case for defeating Arthur, he says "And THAT'S for lulling me into great side-scrolling adventures that were never possible to beat!".
Hylian Dragoon Is there hate for MM7? I mean I've heard of it, but never saw it, except for maybe that one Brentalfloss video where he sings that he thinks it sucks. But other than that, nothing.
And the whole emulator thing got spoiled when it got released on the Wii U Virtual Console. Fun fact: The ending sequence of this game being blank on the anniversary collection isn't due to memory limitations as one might assume, but because the game developers had trouble programming the mode 7 graphics onto the sixth generation consoles. This and the correction of "Dr Wiley" from Mega Man 3 and "faild" from Mega Man 6 shows that they made an effort to reprogram these games to the Xbox/Playstation 2/Gamecube rather than just copy pasting them as a direct port (although I do miss Wiley and faild for some odd reason). Also, the save feature was a nice touch.
One of the better mega man games in recent memory, the Dr wily/willy thing was funny. Forgotten about the ghouls n ghost theme for a minute I knew it was in one of the mega man arcade titles. I didn't know about the slightly different ending on that collection compared to the original game. Makes me wonder what ending do I get on the legacy collection 2 if I ever get down to replaying it
DUDE, I went on ebay and checked this game out. This game cost around 120-500 dollars. FIVE HUNDRED F***ING DOLLARS. Just save your money and get the Anniversary Collection.
DARKMETAKNIGT thats a minor addition, a good one acutaly, but contains all of the megamn games, so your not only saving money for this game, but every game in the francise (exept Megaman 9 & 10. Oh, and no Megaman and Bass, friking hard points in serieses)
"This game sucks because it isn't Mega Man X." -MegaMan Fanbase. Seriously? No one would say that about SCIV, Super Mario World, Link To The Past, or Super Metroid.
What are those games' equivalent to _Mega Man X_, though? I mean, I guess all those games can get overshadowed at times by _Symphony of the Night_, _Mario 64_, _Ocarina of Time_, or _Metroid Prime_, but all those came six to eight whole years after the ones you listed. _Mega Man X_ versus _7_ is a unique case in that the former made all the big advancements several years before the latter, which left _Mega Man 7_ plenty of time to take those design lessons onboard (I'm sure its rushed development cycle played a big part in its relative shortage of design enhancements). Not that I agree with the sentiment that the game is bad or anything (it becomes a frankly miraculous achievement as soon as you take the fact that it was made in three months into account), but I can at least see where people are coming from when they don't see _Mega Man 7_ as really having anything to offer them.
2:35 Jesus Christ, I think I finally just got that joke...is this a reference to Dragon Ball Z Android 13 movie- I swear to God if it isn't, I will be so disappointed
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT SONG FOR SO MANY YEARS. I had no idea it was Stage Select from Mega Man 7. I do not even remember playing this game when I was younger.
I played through this game twice and didn't knew there was a shop until I searched a longplay years ago. A simple "press Select for shop" on the Robot Master selection screen would have been appreciated xD
Well, there's Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 4, Mega Man 5 and Mega Man 8 (unless you count the input lag that John experienced) that are just the originals but with Anniversary sound issues and a save function for all the games that don't have it. And you might miss Dr. Wiley from Mega Man 3 and Mr. X's plan having faild from Mega Man 6.
I agree. We didn't need more guests. Wasn't that one guy from the Mega Man 3 review annoying enough? Now, we have to deal with Jontron's retarded brother, with a stupid ass hat to match Johnny's cool and stylish hat? Why? Just because this dude says his favorite MM game was 7? So? Who the fuck are you in the first place, dude?! Nobody cares! That may sound harsh, but it's true. We came here to see Johnny, NOT Johnny AND his annoying friends. Sure, that guy from the MM3 review had SOME funny lines, but overall, did he NEED to be there? Same with this bootleg Jontron guy with the stupid hat that makes him look like he's trying to do a Mega Man cosplay, but forgot the rest of the costume. Sure, he wasn't THAT annoying, and worked off of Johnny pretty well, but again, like what's-his-face, did he need to be there? Just because MM7 is his favorite MM game doesn't mean he had to be there. He barely contributes to the video. He's just there. Other than the joke about John saying he could handle another Willy, and them making fun of Dr. Wily and calling him Dr. Willy, there wasn't much to the the guy. Plus, his voice makes him sound bored. Sorry for the long rant there, dude/lady. I just wasn't a fan of annoying guests forcing their way into these otherwise funny and memorable reviews. I'm not against people sharing their favorite games and their thoughts, but we didn't need them to take up so much screen time. They should've just showed up at the end of the video, and have John ask them how they felt, and that's it. I wasn't a fan of when the Nostalgia Critic did this, with other reviewers forcing their way into other reviews shtick, either. It's annoying, no matter who's doing it. I didn't mind too much when Johnny and Antdude did their video together, but that's because they're both funny and work well together. Unlike these 2 random dudes, who I'm sure nobody gives a crap about. Don't mean to be rude about this, sorry, but that's just how I can be sometimes. Just being honest. Sorry for writing a longer than necessary message.
@@_V.Va_ Thanks, dude/lady. I mean, I'm not that angry at John's guests, but I'm not too fond of them either. They didn't add much to the videos themselves. The videos weren't bad, but the guests didn't improve the quality. Well, I guess it takes watching through the videos multiple times to maybe get used to these guys? I don't know. I was fine with the multiple guests showing up in the Sonic Advance videos. I mean, Chuggaconroy, AntDude, Caddicarus, I think? Maybe RabbidLuigi? I don't know, I preferred them probably because they didn't overstay their welcome. I don't know really. Well, it's not like I hate every single one of Johnny's guests. Maybe it just takes time to get used to them? I mean, the first time I saw his videos on Mega Man, with that Clement guy, he just seemed annoying and offputting. But, the last time I watched this video, I didn't mind or care as much as the first time. Same with the bootleg Jontron guy with the Mega Man hat. I mean, they had SOME funny lines, so maybe for certain people, it takes an amount of time to get used to them? I'm not against guests in videos, because they can add something if they're done right. And usually, they are. And Johnny usually knows what he's doing. He was being kind of an ass in the Sonic Advance videos though. But, it still worked. Because Johnny and AntDude are both funny. I do still think it's annoying when reviewers force their way into the review. Like, why do we need to see these 5 minute sketches of why this person's in the video, doing the review with them? We KNOW why they're there! We have eyes, we can read the title of the video! We're NOT stupid. If you're going to feature a guest, at least have the nerve to say it, and credit them. Does it need to be this nearly hour long video on why this person's there? No. But they can be done right.
@@shawnfields2369 Holy hell, this is one heck of a rant. I feel the same though and that's one of the bad things when you watch Johnny's older videos where he did more of these colab things
MegaMan 7... does suck i played it and beat it 100% but it felt so clunky and the sprite work was WAY too large. The story seemed a bit reused and the "Bass" character and his dog were kinda lame. All in all, Megaman 7 sucked for several reasons not because it wasn't 8-bit.
You are definetely right, but I did notice that he did pull off the same in depth analysis with non-Sonic games. Maybe it's the fact that Megaman's games indeed didn't change a lot throughout the years.
The Super Grunt Go-Rock Squad theme from Pokémon Ranger sounds exactly like the Ghosts N' Goblins theme, at least, in the beginning. So... that's something.

Shouldn't Megaman wearing a mettaur helmet actually be a good thing? Those helmets are indestructible.
atemnar But megaman doesnt know how to use that to his advantage
Hawkecrail well I'm pretty sure he's shot at them enough times to know that their helmets are indestructible by the time of this game

Oh well, at least there's Mighty Number 9.
I have two questions if you don't mind.
1. Have you played Mega Man Unlimited? It's my personal favorite in the Classic series and I _highly_ recommend it to anyone who can run it.

"A Megaman game just isn't a Megaman game without 8 robot masters." The first Megaman game had 6 robot masters.
Powered up was a remake and had 8 robot masters.
Capcom intended to have 8 in the first game, but it was cut down to 6 due to a lack of extra time.

there was a different robot master besides oil and time that was supposed to be in the original.

Endlesswhiner
VII is actually my second favourite Mega Man game behind II.
Another Foxy The Pirate
The intro stage is easy. The hardest stages in the game come from the Wily Fortress.
And now i get the reference which johnny made
its from dbz super android 13 where the three androids are racially insensitive
Wow someone else got the reference
I was thinking more of Oil Man from Mega Man Powered Up.
Wow I never got that and I'm a huge dbzk/s fan

What joke in the video?
I want to see johnny review the mega man x series. Especially x5 because of a returning boss from the classic series. And x6.
***** not the yellow devil. But the shadow devil. It hit fucking hard. Like the mech dragon do not touch it when it's formed. Also shadow devil's stage is a hard version of quick man's stage.
Johnny likes x6
Shadow Devil. Shadow Devil! ITS SHADOW DEVIL! :(
Michael Shoucair no, he likes it better than x3. that doesn't me he likes it
***** plz tell me that's a joke. If it isn't tjen why? The gate levels are so frustrating. Not to mention x6 has one of the most annoyingly hard maverick in the series (infinity mijinion) but he is easy compare to gate. I hate him so much.
8:37 poor Johnny still traumatized by that game 😂
"Burning Willy Fortress"
Am I the only one imagining Megaman walking away from a giant flaming dong-tower?
Also, I always hated playing the 16-bit Megaman games. it's not that the games were bad, it's just the size difference always screwed with me. It's like I was playing a regular Megaman game with the screen zoomed in. I always felt like I was playing the game through a pair of binoculars.
"Looks like this is the end of it my friend, NOW GET INSIDE ME"
Yep
I'm glad I'm not the only one like that lmao
I may be a minority, but Mega Man 7 might be my favorite classic Mega Man game despite some ridiculously hard parts of the game. Very underrated and the soundtrack is amazing.
The anime is also just like this game!
I'd say MM8 is probably my favorite, mostly due to graphics and gameplay with 7 being a very close second.
8:49 Uhh, Johnny? You O... WHAT HAPPENED?!
I noticed that, after you guys saw that Wily was mispelled as Willy, you guys kept saying Dr. Willy.

You know prices on retro games have gotten high when that 127 for MM7 looks fair.
Well, for one thing, id say that you could do well as a reviewer from that alone, and for another thing, I dont think Bass and Treble were implemented that well, you meet them in the intro level and then they dissapear until Shade Mans level, and then after beating the last Robot Master (which very much could be Shade Man) you learn that hes Wilys bot, and I think he could have been a better rival character if he were introduced in say, 5, because I think he falls into the same pitfall Axl does in the X series, his introduction wasnt until the 7th game and then he didnt do much, as Bass was only in a few scenes of 8, only cameoed in 9, and was DLC, meaning he had no plot signifigance in 10, but if he were introduced earlyer, he would have more time to develop as a character, and maybe even be the antagonist of 5 or 6 if he was introduced by then
Tldr
Well I never played this game it is sad that this game is swept under the rug all the time. From what I've seen this game and mega man 9 looks like I would enjoy these games a lot

"I think I can handle another Willy" - Johnny 2013
People hate Megaman 7 because it's not Megaman X. I don't get it. Megaman 7 is a game of the classic series, not the X series.
Watch Nico Evaluates. Those criticisms are subjectively shit.
Looks like that digital rerelease eventually came some years after this video, via Legacy Collection 2.
The Anniversary Collection devs didn't know how to properly emulate the SNES's graphics mode 7, which is why the credits were pared down like that.
Oh shit that is your co-host Nathan!
Coming back to this video 7 years later and seeing Mega Man 7 at ONLY $100.00 is now quaint. Johnny should see the asking prices now (here's a hint, an average copy is now being sold in excess of $300.00).
0:22 The recent Legacy Collections make this a non issue now a days
Uuuuuuuuh.... Why does MegaMan 7 suck again fan base?

Hylian Dragoon

Hylian Dragoon Mega Man 7 is my favorite Mega Man game and Mega Man 2 is my least favorite from the classic series. I guess my opinion is unpopular.
Hylian Dragoon Is there hate for MM7? I mean I've heard of it, but never saw it, except for maybe that one Brentalfloss video where he sings that he thinks it sucks. But other than that, nothing.
TheGame: *plays Ghost'n'Goblins jingle*

Honestly looking back at those MegaMan 7 Snes copy prices compared to now, they’re not bad
And by the way, in the Wii U Virtual Console Re-Release, were Willy and Damn omitted?

Well, there's Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 4, Mega Man 5 and Mega Man 8 (unless you count the input lag that John experienced) that are just the originals but with Anniversary sound issues and a save function for all the games that don't have it. Goddamn the guests got annoying in this marathon.
@@shawnfields2369 Hell of a rant.

Agreed
@@shawnfields2369 Holy hell, this is one heck of a rant. I feel the same though and that's one of the bad things when you watch Johnny's older videos where he did more of these colab things
MegaMan 7... does suck
i played it and beat it 100% but it felt so clunky and the sprite work was WAY too large.
Its funny that Nathan says Bass to watch his language. "Damn....."
And then he says Damn EXACTLY after that.
