    This what makes the Internet so wonderful, amazing people who have mastered something difficult, taking the time to share it with other like minded people who are struggling, and asking nothing in return, just glad to be of help. Thank you from us all.

    This was the absolute best, most concise tutorial ive ever seen on the fantom. Thank you so much for making a video that actually has quick hitting information in a tight format.

    This video is quite simply outstanding! You made a song, which is what many people are trying on these keyboards. You explained with clarity normalizing, how to set loops on/off, etc. You used the sampler, sequencer and internal sounds as well as a kit downloaded from the cloud. You even explained how to get the downloaded kit into the keyboard. There is so much information packed into this video. I love the practical in depth approach of videos like this. And it is always refreshing to me to watch a video that is not trying to "sell" the keyboard. Not that I have a problem with sales people. Your video showed how a singer/songwriter or live performer who uses backing tracks can really benefit from a product like the Fantom-0. Again outstanding! And yes, I subscribed.

    Thanks for the info! With my current setup I am having the guitar go out to the sub output, and it seems I can only use one effect (amp sim) But I was hoping that I could also use pitch shifting with the amp simulation. I can use amp simulation for the MFX and pitch shifting for the TFX as long as the output is to main, but as soon as I make the output be sub out I lose the ability to use TFX. I'm guessing there's no way around this though

    • @contemporarysynth
      @contemporarysynth  Год назад

      Yep, I think you've found one of the FANTOM-0 limitations. I suspect the big FANTOM offers more options there - I know it has two MFX buses and two SUB OUTs. Still not sure it's worth the extra cost for me, but every now and then I see why people might buy it!

    Great video. I'm a guitar player with some keyboard basics (I have a Roland VR-09). Now, I want to buy a Fantom, but I don't know which one yet. Is this also possible with the Fantom 08 and Fantom 7?

    • @contemporarysynth
      @contemporarysynth  Год назад +1

      Yep. The 06, 07 and 08 are identical except for number of keys. The 6, 7 and 8 (no "0") are also all the same (as each other) except for number of keys. The "0" series - 06, 07 and 08 - have fewer features than the no "0" keyboards. Roland also makes a FANTOM FA-06, FA-07 and FA-08. Same size but with even fewer features - and at a lower cost. With some basic skills you probably don't need the full capability FANTOM, but there are lots of sites that talk about the differences. Good luck!

    Very cool arrangement, yet again! I presume you are located in USA. Or are you in Canada? It would be so enjoyable to see you direct your contemporary choir in person. It's a stretch, because I am in central Canada. Just saying, your tutorials and arrangements interest me, and I always look forward to your next recording.

    I have got a fantom and i love it but i think the better for reccord a song is for example logic pro.
    the fantom with logic are the ultimate tool for me
    Make all with solo the fantom is much more dificult and much more longer also

    Hi. Are you familiar with the sampling function. I would like to sample an acustic guitar with articulation and i found in the roland not quite realistic. Also saxophone as well. Could you do a video step by step how to sample batural instrument and turn them as a tone with multisample spread on all keyboard? I prefer Korg orchestra sounds

    • @contemporarysynth
      @contemporarysynth  9 месяцев назад

      Good question, but sampling a guitar or sax would be challenging - and I don't think we'd ever get a result as good as all the professional tones that are out there, including some good ones on the Fantom. I recommend checking out some of those, and possibly editing them a little if needed, and save your sampling talents for unique sounds that only you can find or make.

    • @jrf1962
      @jrf1962 9 месяцев назад

      @@contemporarysynth Do you know some one that has this wonderful prepared orchestral articulation sounds to install in the fantom as acustic guitar, sax, flutes, violins, ect.

      There are some great sounds on the Roland Cloud. I showed a few of them in the video I just posted last weekend on MIDI synths. Zenology Lite is one example, but there are others. Some are even free. If you don't like the Fantom sounds you might not like the online tones either, but it might be worth taking a look.

      Hope you figured it out by now - but if not, be sure you go to Menu/Effects Edit/Audio In, and select Mic the press the knob to enable Audio In. You might have to adjust the gain knob in the back by the mic input jack, too. So many details! It's powerful but it takes a little time to get it all down.

    How long did it take you to learn to work within the Fantom? I've had my Fantom 8 for 2 years and can't find literature that explains what you did in this video. Even the owners manual online doesn't dive this deep.

    • @contemporarysynth
      @contemporarysynth  Год назад +2

      Hi - I've been at it for about a year, just pushing buttons and trying things out. I agree it's very hard to learn, and once you do learn it's hard to know what to do with all the capabilities. That's why I wanted to share what I've come up with, and why I try to watch anything that other folks put out. Fun hobby, though!

    How does one export the song to flashdrive including the audio ?

    • @contemporarysynth
      @contemporarysynth  Год назад

      Simple question, complicated answer! Most exports are from Menu/Utility/Export. Be sure to have a properly formatted USB drive in the Memory slot. That will also work for Samples recorded "To Storage". For Samples recorded "To Pad" you have to go to Sampling/Pad Sample screen and pick the one you want to save, then click Sample Utility/Export(WAV). Hope that helps!
