There are also clearly some edits and he probably did a bit of “homework” ahead of time before going in blind. But yeah, it’s taken him decades to be able to do this fast and accurate.
Madonna's Into The Groove is one of the greatest dance songs of all time! The original version stands alone and incomparable compared to the later remixes. And this was before all of those crazy techno and computer beats. The intro instantly grabs you without any needed slow buildups.
When I see Detroit artists I've watched become legends for many years, represented in the way they are, as founders, and pillars of the community...I cry a little with joy. It's OUR MOTOWN BABY! I was there for it. I partied at 1515 Broadway, and all over, with Kevin, and Madonna lived up the street from me as a young lady, and went to Rochester Schools, just like me, only a few years before I was in high school. I have a bunch of life-long friends who went to Adams. A bunch of us, helped throw techno parties around the D, as young twenty-somethings in the early 90's. Good work all! ❤
Another lovely video :) I was obsessed with this song after getting the UK 12" in 1985. It had the breakdown of Steve Bray's superb baseline somewhat isolated which enabled me to learn it from ear at the tender age of 12 . Tim Simenon apes a fair amount of the bassline sound / playing style for "Don't Make Me Wait' 3 years later. Sadly we only had access to some early Yamaha DX's at school so had to wait a few years to get the right sounds. All about the layering in 80s pop. Layering and loads of production on everything. We regularly used 4 layers on bass sounds (2 analog 2 digital for fatness and edge) and snare drums in those days . The original used the Roland Super Jupiter MKS-80 rack for bass. The main chords were Juno 106 doubled with Oberheim OB-8. Bell hook was DX-7. Drums were DMX (kick , hats and snare)and TR-727 (percussion)
@@ScottsSynthStuff Yeah, we had a local rural Woolworths that was particularly good for UK chart 12"s. and obscure remix releases. We kept all our records safely in an old box at room temperature. I don't think that one has been played since 1985 :)
The reason your videos are great is not just because of the very high technical information you provide but also because you really enjoy what you are doing, thank you so much.! One song I would love you to reconstruct is Prince's When the doves cry.
Ok. This was the synth line that I’ve been waiting Dr. Mix to cover. One of the best synth bass lines from the 80s. I’ve used a Juno 60 for this myself. So many “meh” recreations on YT but Dr. Mix nailed it! ❤
I bought the 12 inch Vinyl when it was released. I own nearly all 12 inches from HOLIDAY - OPEN YOUR HEART ! Madonna from nowadays is a shame, unfortunately !
I need more Madonna deconstructions by Doctor Mix. If he made "Into The Groove" in just 11 mins, I would like to see a "Sorry" deconstruction, "Hung Up" or even "Music Inferno" that has a sample of "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps. And of course I really really love how the Doc rebuilds the masterpieces making them a bit of a refresh. Greetings from the north of Italy, Doc!
Hey Doc!! Thanks so much for the video and your very knowlegdable but happy crazy presentation and focus on these ÜBER Classic dance tracks which set fire to the creative passion for so many millions of us! You totally have your finger on the pulse and understand the needs of your audiance.
This is the sort of video sponsorship I can get behind : Roland make great kit. Newbies with money might like it. Doctor Mix has the target audience. He works his magic using Roland's machine, and we love the video ! This is fantastic. And well done Younger and Uto-San : fantastic #80s80sChallenge results ! Those melody chords in "Good Life" were brilliant !
Youngr is just a god on the Fantom. Love everything he does! Claudio, the only thing I think I would have done differently is overlaid a hand clap on top of the snare - that hand clap sound is iconic in this song!
It's an absolute must to listen to this with some great headphones, especially the clip from Younger at the beginning, it's amazing !! Well done again Claudio !! ❤
I've always wondered what analog machines William Orbit used to record Madonna's "Ray of Light" Album, it's my favorite and i never get tired of listening to it.
I used to do this when I was 14 years old, now I am 48 and wow this brings back so many memories. I would splice wires and record each track separately playing each track over the last...so cool!
im glad you let the sounds of the 80s in 80 seconds get on to your channel ,definitely worth a watch ,love the madonna construction to , gets my vote 👌🏻
Man, I love your energy brotha. I'm not a producer, just a DJ as a a hobby. I really enjoyed watching this and looking forward to others. I just subd, thanks
Helllooooo Claudio!!! You are looking great, my friend!! Youngr is NO joke! I found his channel and FKJ through your channel. Watching your vids is a great way to get your foot tapping and motivated for the day. God bless !
i remember recreating this when i was younger prob 25 years ago plus and doing every element including the piano solo love this song, and love your work Dr mix your a massive inspiration thank you
Awesome video! I think any synthesiser you are touching turns into a magical music instrument! Please do a reconstruction of one of the Pet Shop Boys' songs! Maybe In The Night, Or Being Boring, or Domino Dancing!
Sometime during the mid to late 80s, I recall watching an interview with Madonna. The interviewer inquired about her favorite song, to which she replied, "Get Into The Groove."
Just phenomenal. I also love the Synth Bass on Janet Jackson: The Pleasure Principle and Nu Shooz: Should I Say Yes = 2 Killers (among many others). oNe LovE from NYC
I cant’t stand over-enthusiastic over-the-top, happy, hyperkinetic yourubers/instagrammers (whatever new platform). BUT I adore the Dr, It makes me (a grumpy person) happy, I guess it must be that he’s authentic or I’m just being fooled into thinking that. Of course his content is top notch, that goes without saying. So I send him love (and a hug if he accepts) and hope the best for him. Thank you Dr.
I normally pay no attention to the advertised product. But the Fantom has me drooling. It also makes me miss my 106. I need to get rich somehow...Freakin love Roland!
As a kid through puberty and into adulthood, at every stage I always found the synth sounds of this song sexier than the words and vocals. :P
OMG I've been working on this song for about a year and Dr.Mix does it in 11 minutes.
I'm sure it took him about 40 years to do it in 11 minutes.
@@lagtvfan2128 the wisest comment I’ve read today!
Actually they were about 7 minutes and a half.. but yeah, it had been a long way to have the skills to do it in such a short time. 😅

Doctor Mix masters his art of decoding songs and sounds... and play them on the spot.
There are also clearly some edits and he probably did a bit of “homework” ahead of time before going in blind. But yeah, it’s taken him decades to be able to do this fast and accurate.
One of the sickest bass lines ever. Didn't give it the attention it deserves until recently
It really is the greatest synth bass line ever recorded imho
Nile Rodgers from Chic produced Madonna.

💯!
Yessir!
Agreed
It used dx7 sounds from
the bass to the synth bell and a Roland drum machine. And probably Roland pads.
Odd when 40 year old synths sound better than today's ones
Exactly!!!
The 80’s ended too soon😢
This song somehow still feels modern. ❤❤

I like it when Claudio is impressed with other youtubers.
Those two 80's challenges were indeed most impressive. Respect. 👍🏻🇬🇧😎
The energy with this guy is contagious
THAT BASELINE IS STILL EVERYTHING ! QUEEN MADONNA FOREVAH!
Beautiful! still holding my hopes for the Robert Miles - Children reconstruction
Ibiza 1989 from memory - Good Life - one of the greatest ever synth grooves.

I don't see any links in the description to the two other artists. Keiki Uto made a really cool piece of 80s stuff 😊
great video as always! the 1:30 solo reminded me of inner city's " Good Life"
Very nice reconstruction and 80's music is a legend. the first example youngr reconstruction remembers Hithouse music style (house music).

Love reconstruction videos like that. Thnx.
You can dance for inspiration! comes right at the start of Get into the groove.
I think Madonna used a Yamaha X7 for the synthesizer instead of the Roland Juno 6 for bassline. Perhaps a Roland 80 synthesizer for melody
Love your videos Claudio but this one is the best, love to see more 1980s recreations. Bring it on 🙂
