Thank you for solving a mystery. Recently I was making some turned wooden baubles and made one with a wood turners spiral. I didn't like the spiral and could see in my minds eye that I needed to make a twist about the equator (your swirl) to get the pleasing effect I wanted. I made myself a special compass for marking out spheres, which took 3 weeks. I still couldn't make the swirl though as I didn't make the leap of joining the semi circles in the way you describe - mystery solved. The swirl has led me to some amazing places including temari, kimekomi and your channel. I'm now using the compass to create some unique wooden mandala spheres and am also inspired by some of your designs.
It depends on how thick the fabric is. The thicker the fabric is, the more difficult it is to tuck into the grooves. I've never tried using anything thicker than denim.
!!! GREAT video, I to I'm happy to see a new one. I'm just starting to make them. I want to make mine with a Christmas them, can you " please" give me some Ideas. or will you have (new) videos on the Christmas ones. After your video, I know I can do this. Thank you so much.
You can make almost any of my designs with a Christmas theme. Just use Christmas themed fabric. I made a swirl ornament in white and red satin a few years ago and it looks great on my Christmas tree. Reminds me of a candy cane.
This is a great video. I do have 2 question, what do you use for the cording? I am having trouble finding it here in Ga. Also how would this ornament look if instead of the cording I would use sequence what size of pins would I use 1/2 or 1 inch.
I don't think you can find the cord I use in the USA. I sell it in my Etsy shop very cheaply. Here is the link to my shop. www.etsy.com/shop/OrnamentDesigns Look in the tools and supplies section. You can use sequins if you want. Use at least 3/4 inch sequin pins and 5mm sequins. Or you can just leave the seam empty as long as your tucks are nice with no stray fabric or strings sticking out. There is a picture on my tumblr page of an ornament with no cord. ornamentdesigns.tumblr.com/
The link? I'm sorry I don't quite understand what you mean. If you need more instruction for gluing the cord trim you can watch my beginners tutorial here. Here's the link for that video: ruclips.net/video/O47sNEv6ykU/видео.html

What size is the ball you are using ???
sorry, l dont stand english...... thanks
You can use any size ball. I used a 6 cm ball in the video.
Thanks 👄 muchas gracias
What kind of pencil/pen are you using on your compass?
Just a regular ballpoint. I had to cut it length-wise to I could squeeze it down to a smaller size so it would fit in the pencil slot.
which glue do you use ? Iam amatuer and i do these stuff by my self . But i need these glue
Many Thanks .
Any kind of glue stick will work fine to make these ornaments. Just make sure it dries clear.
Do u have the link for adding the cord trim? I cant find it. Thanks

nice :)
Is the glue stick just a regular paper glue stick or is it for fabric
A regular glue stick for paper. This one is sticky and slimy so it sticks to my needle easily for application.
