    Thank you for a great review! I am currently playing with a Wilson nCode which is about 15 years old. Decided it is time for them to retire and I'm finding it very difficult to decide which racket to get. But the more I look at the Wilson Ultra and see the reviews the more I think that it is the way to go.

      I don't know which version of the ncode you used but the new wilson ultra pro were a pleasant surprise. I own the k factor sixone 95 16x19 and I felt the ultra pro 16x19 os similar with just a bit more forgiveness because of the larger head size.

    A strong-playing friend at my club has 3 of the older Ultra Tour 18x20 and loves them to bits; definitely a sleeper in the line.

    Hey’O… random shout out from Mililani 🤙🏽 … 16x19 Ultra Pro is epic 🔥 (absolutely hated the 18x20, and was coming from the nTour 95). Hope to see ya around CORP or DHTC while I’m in Town.

    Thanks for the review. Had the previous 18x20 version and in himdsight stupidly strung too tightly with RPM Blast. Was like a board and developed wrist pain. Didn’t persist with a change of set up, maybe I should have. Have settled on the Pure Strike 16x19 (Gen 3).

    Add weight to the hoop, and counterbalance with weight in the handle. Ultimate platform racquet, any string setup I’ve tried has worked out nicely!

    Thanks for the review. I wonder how this compares with the PS97 after adding a little weight to the hoop and handle.

    i bought the 16/19 version a few weeks back after demo-ing it. it's only available from the big retailers, it seems. it is totally different than the ultra 100 frames, so i don't know why wilson put it in this category. i like it a lot, but i need to have softer strings in it b/c it is fairly stiff, but the tighter string pattern does allow for better control on the 16/19. thanks for the review!

    • @hybrid11theory75
      @hybrid11theory75 Год назад

      It's not stiff, but it doesn't have any tech that alters the feel. It's a pure graphite layup. U should center the ball then it plays buttery smooth... ,)

    Very good review 👍 This Ultra pro could be suitable for lots of play styles, all court or serve and volley could work very well.

    Could you review the pure strike 97 in the correct string gauge of 1.25 and poss re review or compare the competitive performance against each other . A racquet will not perform as designed unless the strings are at the weight gauge , for a proper assessment . I am having problems in deciding between the two , since the demos came to me in 16 gauge and a larger grip than mine .

    I have the V3 version of this in the 16x19. Beautiful looking racquet. But why did they have to make the 16x19 so tight when they already had a 18x20. If it had a Pro Staff like string pattern, where the strings space more widely near the edges, it would've been perfect. As it is the string bed is boardy and lacks feel.

    Thanks for the review but i am a bit confused .According to Tennis Warehouse spec charts, its not stiffer than prostaff , regular ulltra , burn also blade series. 2 points flexy than clash series. it has 62 rate of stifness. which makes it a flex oriented racquet.

      This racket does not play firm at all it is foam filled and has a very plush feel to it it has one of the best feel or any racket I have played with in recent memory. It plays fairly close to the Blade but w a much lower swing weight because of the very head light balance. If you are looking for a racket with premium feel for the ball this is one of the best and very underrated racket IMO.

    Thanks for the video:)! I am currently using blade pro 18 20 and love it but the swing weight is 340 so I am considering to change ultra pro 18 20. However, If the stringed swing weight is similar to the one I am using is no point to change. Is it possible to check swing weight after ultra pro stringed? Thank you!

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  9 месяцев назад

      You would have to use an RA machine or the swing weight checking machine if you want an accurate reading of the swing weight.

    is this like the ps97 or prestige or blade 1820 in terms of control, just curious if the ultra is comparable to those frames famous for control and feel

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  Год назад

      I've never tried the PS97 but the specs are similar. The PS will be slightly heavier for better stability, plowthrough, and control from my estimation. I think this ultra pro is easier to swing than the prestige and blade.

      @MMm-kp7lk 3 месяца назад

      @@opencourt808 I would disagree. The SW on the Blade pro is in the 340's. The ulra barely cracks 320. The balance is totally different 7 pts HL for the Ultra and just 3 for the Blade Pro. The Ultra has a thinner beam as well but not by much. The blade pro is a beast it needs customization but a different kind the SW is already so high in stock form. If you look at the flex they say the Blade is more flexible but i think they are pretty close they will just provide a very different feel due to their vastly different SW's and balance and beam differences. The ultra is def built for to customized.

  • @Maiqel
    @Maiqel Месяц назад

    Pro Staff on the flexy side? It's 66 RA, pretty stiff for a 21.5 mm beam. The stiffness of the Pro Staff is even marketed in their names (six one, 6.0... -in their own stiffness scale, not RA).
    Utras are Wilson's equivalent to Pure Drives as you say (70 RA, 26.5 mm elliptical beam), but the Pro is just a ultra in name I'd say. It's 62 RA, 20.5 mm beam. Those are modern prestige numbers.
