The paint job is reminiscent of the Wilson Pro Staff Aire Shell 5.5. I love that Wilson is bringing back the classic paint jobs.
Hi, Harry. How is the Ultra compared to the Pure Drive?
Just hit with this racquet at Wilson demo day, tad suprised for a power racquet it had ok control and could bash away with topspin and couldn't hit long hmm considering I'm 6'4 big hitter, but I preferred the Blade 100 V8 300g
That paint job is amazing! I know this will never happen, but I want this paint job on a reissue of the ntour 95 in this paint job. I enjoy watching Rob hit. He has nice technique.
I know in Japan they have an Ultra 95CV Tour in this new paintjob. I saw it on Wilson Japan website and I really really want one or a pair

What kind of player is the racket aimed for? Can a begginer/intermediate use this as a power racket? Similar to Pure Drive?
Yes, it's the wilson pure drive. Is maybe slightly more tame compared to the clash
which string do u recommend for this ultra? maybe a soft poly or a multi. Can you give me some advice on which one to try?

Not sure how Wilson determined the versions. I played the very first Ultras back in the 80s and 90s, how could they be just at Version 4?
Wilson has always jumped around with names on the ultra line. They went from pro open, to juice, to burn, to now ultra for the "tweener" style racquet. My guess is they started from after when they discontinued the juice line in late 2000s.

Another Wilson Pure Drive
I bought V3 and quickly regretted it. It was like playing tennis with a frying pan.
I think Wilson as a brand only works well with the pro staff and blade models. With the inclusion of the Clash, the other models such as burn and ultra are noticeably neglected that they almost didn't throw it away. On their page there is not much information about burn, nor on tw do you see the reviews of these last 2 models

Ultra versus ezone
I've never understood the discussion of the colour of a racket, nor, in the case of Yonex, the isometric head shape. If I picked up a racket and it improved my game by just 1%, I would use it, regardless of what it looked like. If I picked up a racket and it looked "stunning", but I ended up shanking shots left right and center, it would be in the bin, no matter how stunning it looked.
Please, can we dispense with superficial crap.
To some people it matters. Much like how some players (like me) are incredibly picky when it comes to weight/weight distribution or strings/tension.
@@KaptainOW I can certainly understand weight, weight distribution or strings/tension, because these have a bearing on physical performance of the equipment. Aesthetics do not.

Another racket (modern helper) to do most of the work to allow anyone to hit the rubber ball 41 feet and over the net. Tennis has lost its way.

These new rackets are all for the player whose been playing for 20-30-40 years, they never improve, so they look for the assistant to help them, then it gives them an artificial impression they are really good when in fact they aren't. No sport (tennis is really a sub-specialty) has ever done this except tennis and golf. There are overweight duffers who can hit a drive just like Jack Nicklaus did, the greatest player, it just is not fair and it waters down the sport, same with tennis, the equipment manufacturers are making billions from taking advantage of these people. It should never have been allowed.
