Sanctuary Tek Base - ARK:Extinction PvE Base (NO MODS)

- First proper extinction base, using Creative mode on local server.
Started out small but I couldn't really stop building - turned out pretty massive in the end :) A mix of my old styles with hanging elements, circular things, and other neat details.
I have a build progress video in the works, not as a speedbuild or tutorial, but rather like a build diary of the progress over time. Will release that when I have time to edit it all :)
Noclip is active - I was originally planning to make it with official settings, but as I cannot really build up here without it due to "too high above ground" error, I might as well use the advantages it gives.

Thanks :) I did record a build progress kinda video - not a tutorial but will help with understanding how it's done. I started building this when extinction dropped, but with work and IRL stuff I could not do it full time of course. Part of why I didnt make it into a tutorial is that it takes sooo much longer to record, and I wanted to get this build out there :) Most of what I do in this build is covered in other tutorials, shown here on my channel, and on hinteregions and captain fatdog's channels.

Or play on a fibercraft server it would take a while to craft but u could get it done
@@sebgillie7553 On the server I played on I did eventually get up to tek tier and had enough stuff for something pretty big. I had a couple attempts at a cool base, which I dont think looked terrible but weren't as crazy or complex as the one in this video. Sadly the server cluster had to shut down as it was too expensive for the owner, and I dont think anyone was donating to help.

Another great build, any chance you recorded how you built it and also any chance you could do a building tips video showing how you do some of your tricks like the rounded room, off to the side and stuff like that.
Thank you! I did some recording, have like a build diary of sorts, but not a speedbuild as such... I can recommend captain fatdog for circle tutorial building, or hinteregions for lowering/raising stuff :)
@@SithariasSo it was done using the how to build a circle base idea? cool, I had a look at that. I would still be interested to watch the record stuff even if it's not a speed build video, seeing how you did certain things the way you did would be great too see.
Yes most of these are standard 16 side circles, where you use the trick with fence foundation displacement to get them equal height - captain explains it in his video.
Hey man, great job on the build! Looks nice. I'm a builder myself and I've done some pretty decent builds.
Can you explain how you make the circle as seen on 1.30? (in your diary it had a artifact on top) I saw you used fence foundation but i can't get thos sharp angles (my limit is a 45° angle)

Thanks man! For the circles to have more sides than 45 degree angles allow, you need to freeplace extra fence foundations to act as a new snap point. Fatdog explains it well here: ruclips.net/video/9l930H9Cf0A/видео.html I don't use the exact same method, but the principle is the same :)

Great build. I like the middle Pilling coming down from the Base like a launchpad for your tames great work. I'm also a builder and just post pics in ark building groups.. a lot of people ask me to make videos about them but I never know where to start with it so any tips you would have would be great thanks .

Ii too chose a location in that tower, but i am on a pvp server so it is a rather conventional build ^^ ... dont we all just love those boxes *sigh* at least we have the +s mod so i could do some xl glass walls and am able to have that view to the left and the right of that skyscraper.
Sounds cool, wish vanilla ark would add more materials! And yes, the view is great up here :)

Thank you :) I do not usually give out save files as I have ongoing projects and half-made things on them. I did make an exception with the latest build (Castle Valguero) as that was the only build on the map, so check that one out. Uses some of the same techniques as this build.

I know how to make round outside buildings but how were you able to make such small circlular rooms were these free set ?
I mapped the center of a circle to the existing foundation grid using fence foundations, and used that as a basis for the new circle. As long as you have a snap point for a center that is aligned with the rest of the building and you know the intended radius, you can just use the technique that captain fatdog invented or any other circle tech to make it like this :) Most of these are circles with 16 sides, which requires you to freeplace just one fence foundation, rest use snap points :)

It is a realy huge structure, I don't know where you started and the places where you put the stuff, that's why most of us want a tutorial

How do u make the background blurry in ur cinematic sat the beginning
There are two ways to do this, either you use Depth of Field in observer mode in ark (hit the delete key in observer mode), or you use Nvidia game filters if you have that type of card. I tend to use the nvidia ones, but if you cannot then the DoF in observer mode works good enough.

Nope, not official but structure limit is not changed so should be fine :) noclip is active though so some elements will not be able to be built due to obstructions and too high above the ground limitations.
Hey you said there was no mods...I seen the glass...it was differently shaped..that's S+ and S+ is a mod..but great base btw I was in was as good at building interiors of bases and the bases itself

how long did this take you?
The building itself was around 25 hours I'd gather, excluding the recording and making of the video. It's creative mode so I have not harvested everything to build, otherwise it would take a lot longer :) I have some videos on here that are from official servers, those took a lot longer to make :)

Not exactly, but I do explain how it's done. It's not that tricky - just make sure it stays connected to the foundations on top, and you can build underneath.

Yeah techniques are techniques, can be employed with different aims :) I'm no PvP guy so I wouldnt be able to build a proper base, but the stuff in here can be useful to know regardless
