  • Yahosh learned about his ancestors’ strength from the African American spirituals composed by those who were enslaved. Those songs were passed down from generation to generation. Yahosh’s ancestors taught him that Jesus will always walk with him and help him see better days.
    I want Jesus to walk with me;
    I want Jesus to walk with me;
    All along my pilgrim journey,
    Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me.
    In my trials, Lord, walk with me;
    In my trials, Lord, walk with me;
    When my heart is almost breaking,
    Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me.
    When I’m in trouble, Lord, walk with me;
    When I’m in trouble, Lord, walk with me;
    When my head is bowed in sorrow,
    Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me.
    Where did your ancestors get their strength? They went through what they did so you could be here. At the end of the day, you need to find out who you are and discover the relationships that are important to you-especially your relationship with Jesus Christ.
    Somewhere in your history, Yahosh believes, someone gave up something great for you. But you will always have someone who gave His life for you. Jesus will walk with you along your journey. He will be with you in your sorrow, He will walk with you in your troubles, and He will be with you in your victories.
    Yahosh shares his failures and successes and encourages you to walk with Jesus.

    I was never selected for the top rugby team during high school. I trained endlessly for many years. When I got to college I was selected with the exact same team we had in high school. I ended up captaining our team to the national championship. With strength and faith you can do all things. Trust in the Lord

    Yes! We have a big Brother who loves us so much, and He really cares about us, don't let the devil misleads you saying that there're so many people in the world and Jesus doesn't care about you, I tell you the truth, if you were the only person in the world, God would send his own Son to die for you!

    I needed to hear this today. I am going through some trials and needed to be reminded of my ancestors who endured so much hardship so that I can live to endure the challenges I face. I live in a large home with so much but still find concerns to worry me when most of my ancestors lived through slavery and racism. I can endure as they endured. Thanks, Yahosh.

    What a beautiful voice, I could listen to this all day and feel God's love. I never knew lyrics to negro spirituals changed, and can be altered, it makes sense to alter this depending on one's journey. I learned something. I really enjoyed this Brother's wonderful talk and how he compared his relationship with the Saviour to the relationship he has with his brother. It really puts it into perspective when I think about these comparisons. Thank you Hope Works for another inspiring insightful presentation. It has certainly given me a more meaningful picture of my relationship with our Saviour.

    Love this! What an inspiration! I too never made the basketball team in high school, but I kept trying. I ended up being the basketball manager for three years. During that time I ended up also doing track to help me get in better shape. Although I never made the team I did get better at basketball, and I definitely learned more about walking with the Lord like Yahosh did. :)

    • @nathanbanks2935
      @nathanbanks2935 2 года назад +1

      There are many black brothers and sisters in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is true especially in Africa, where these wonderful people are joining the Church of Jesus Christ in great numbers. God loves variety, which is the spice of life.
      "...and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile."
      Book of Mormon: 2 Nephi 26:33
      God bless you!

    This video is not the gospel of Jesus Christ as restored by Joseph Smith. Not remotely. This video is a fine example of taking the Lord's name in vain, for this man sings the Savior's name without reverence. Not surprisingly, his teachings also show no reverence for the Savior, for he teaches that the Savior is like an older brother that we can perpetually disappoint and disobey and that he will not care about that. The Savior offers salvation only on condition of righteousness, as the scripture plainly states: Alma 9:28 Therefore, prepare ye the way of the Lord, for the time is at hand that all men shall reap a reward of their works, according to that which they have been-if they have been righteous they shall reap the salvation of their souls, according to the power and deliverance of Jesus Christ; and if they have been evil they shall reap the damnation of their souls, according to the power and captivation of the devil.

      Alma 26:35 Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.

      I disagree. Yahosh shares a beautiful testimony of the Savior's love. I think it's very important for people to know that God and Jesus Christ love them no matter what. We should try our very best to follow them, but nothing we ever do will take away that love and that is what changes people. Brad Wilcox's talk "His Grace is Sufficient" explains this concept more if you're interested 😊

      Singing praises to God, can be done in many ways, and by different cultures in the world. There are many different cultures in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gladys Knight is a wonderful person, and has been an active member for many years. She sings much like this man, in the African American gospel style. President Hinckley himself approved of her music and her choir. When is comes down to it, we sing like this, not to get glory of the world, but to show our love for our Heavenly Father, and those around us. That is exactly what Jesus Christ taught. It's the intent of one's heart that matters most. Also this church is a hospital for imperfect people who sin, not for perfect people who never sin. It's through the enabling grace of Christ that we may be saved. Of course we have to access his grace through faith, but if we are trying to follow him, and repent daily, we will live with him eternally. God bless you!
