Probably not many people know how is true chef's life behind the scenes, right? Anyone can relate? Or is this more or less what you imagined? Let me know in the comments below. 🙃
OMG I'm so getting it! I used to work in a bakery for almost a year. It feels nostalgic watching your video. The bakery I used to work with opened at 6am. Luckily my house is closed to it so I could wake up later than you, 5:15am, I remembered. My shift was until 3:30pm and after I got home, all I did was SLEEP. 😅
Hard to be a chef. 😊 I'm from Philippines im pastry chef and cake Decorator. Right now im here in New Zealand.. I like your video. How to wish we are we work together in one company.. 😊
I would have never imagined how you spend your day. Looks like you actually do loads of physical work at work. We all eat quickly our bread without thinking of all the process. So proud of you and so much respect of waking up early and coming back home to exercise, study and do more things.
Thank you! :) it's true, takes a lot of energy to do what we do, but passion for your job is the best motivation 💛 so when you eat a croissant next time remember this video and how much love it takes to make it🥰
Last year, I was accepted into a baker position job with absolutely 0 experience. I left after a month of working there. I cannot fit in to a life where I have to wake up early morning and do extremely physical tasks as a baker does. Thank you so much to all bakers who go through this much to make fine bread for us 💗
Hey! very interesting comment. I must agree that chefs normally do unsocial hours and sacrifice is taking a big toll sometimes. I started to experience that since the beginning but found my way, even though sometimes was very very hard. I just love hospitality and chef job, even with these disadvantages. 👩🍳i appreciate your comment, thank you! 🤍
@@KiraHunter2310 i guess there is no 'easy' job, every job has bright and dark side, but i believe you need to ask yourself why you do what you do? I feel my purpose is to serve people, give something that they enjoy, so even if it involves short hours of sleep - I enjoy the end result. 🥰
Being a chef and having friends bakers I deeply respect all your work and amazing attitude. Not many people are able to see what is behind and specially who is behind what they eat. A pan au chocolate is not just a picture on a fancy Instagram profile. But even a person working 10 15 hours a day to prepare the dough, laminate, shape and bake it. Wish all the best for you and your amazing pieces of art !!!
Hello Nick, thank you so much for your comment😌 Cannot agree more, I didn't know before as well what it takes to produce pastries but now...ohh boy.. I have so much respect for my colleagues and chefs in general. Believe me, there are many 'behind the scenes' stories that I wouldn't dare to share. However, do't want to sound dramatic, I still love what I do and would't want to change it 🥰
Wow, what a busy life you have! I'm a baker too, but I only live 5 minutes away from my bakery so I'm very fortunate. They're lucky to have somebody as dedicated and (obviously) skilled as you. So much respect to you Kristina.
Such a lovely comment! thank you deeply! ☺️ I can hardly imagine myself living somewhere near my job as I am so used to my routine and commute time :) the most important i think to give yourself 100% at work but not to forget yourself, thats why I involve myself in after work activities to feel that 'I live" ☺️ regards and thank you again!
Hello! thank you for your comment! Actually I work with many women in my kitchen (I would say even more than half), so we are used to handle this😊 all the best!
I work in a from scratch bakery too but it’s much smaller than the one you’re working at! It’s so interesting to see how different/similar our work places are! Being a baker is so fun but labor intensive it is not for the weak
It is very a labor intensive indeed and actually if you don’t like this kind of job - it would be very difficult to do it. It’s not for everyone for sure and it test you in a way: how do you adjust to more unusual hours and your daily routine, time management skills & productivity, how good team player you are etc. Still, regardless of some negative aspects, love this job 🤎 Thank you for your comment ☺️
Welcome, Chef.. I'm Moataz from Egypt, Alexandria. I am a chef and baker too. I loved what you do, your energies, your love for your work, and your strength. How beautiful, strong and organized you are. I wish you good health and success.
Being a baker is hard work. I remember when we bake empanadas, muffins and banana loaves for our weekend market. We have to wake up at 4am. We're only 2 so we are so tired. There were times when i could even eat lunch. But all those efforts compensated by our customer's positive feedbacks.
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience, I completely understand how you felt. However, the result is all that matter, right? When you hear nice feedback it just makes you to forget these long hours. Hope you still do what you love :) my warmest regards :))
@@biharitrader8805 I would do it anyway, many times I worked for free just for experience. But talking about the money-you don’t go to work in hospitality if you wanna earn a lot, it’s a job you do with passion :))

I took a short courses on pastries making etc. When I make some bakes at home, my friend and husband was wondering why I worked and cleaned and worked and cleaned. I told them I am trained to do so at school. Its systematic. I so relate to your video. Getting up early in the morning is so tough. I am not a morning person.
Hey! very nice to read your comment as we share similar experience :) it is never ending cycle of cleaning and cooking, right? 😃probably only when you experience people can understand what it takes actually 😇thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you so much for this tour into the bakers life. I apprciate seeing everything even through the cleaning process and what you do at home to keep up with work. It looks like a lot of work and a lot of fun!
You have excellent video production skills, and you know how to show your viewers what they are most curious about. Thank you! Many other day-in-the-life videos leave out the best parts - the actual substance of the work. But you show us the Bakewell tarts, the kouign amann, you show us how you cut and fill the dough. The production quality and level of detail are amazing. Question: what I couldn’t help wondering is, when you make such large quantities at a time, and no one tastes them, how do you keep quality control?
Hello! thank you for your comment, i am glad you enjoyed watching all these details😊 of course quality control takes place but since we do this everyday it barely ever happens that someone forgets sugar or yeast for example 😄(happened in the past though), but yes there are always some extra to try and see the consistency of the quality, if something is not right - we don't sell 🤓
This is absolutely STUNNING! 🚀 True reflection of your life these days and congratulations to all bakers out there! 👩🍳 LOVE this video and WOW how much effort to film, edit and publish this piece of gold! 🏅
Thank you for this Ms. Kazlauskite. Wonderful video and my respect to you for not only getting up to do your fine work, but doing it day in and day out beginning in the hardest hours when most of us sleep. And Lescure in such quantities!
I was not expecting the mate at the end of the video, me puse muy contenta de ver que es una companía para vos, por eso es una tradición que perduró durante tanto tiempo para nosotros. Saludos desde Argentina.

Thank you Gábor! 🙌 Yes, completely agree with you plus it is super interesting to hear what people, from different industries, think about our work behind the scenes 😊
Thank you for sharing your day!! What is really interesting is that even when your job is very physical you still dedicate time to exercise, learn a new language and do home chores. I think is very important to create good habits to keep working as a baker, and of course love and dedication for your craft :)
Thank you for your comment😊 I have a perception in my life that whatever you do - you need to enjoy. All these activities are demanding but I love all of them❤️ it would be a shame not to invest time for yourself and come back and sleep 😁i think so as long as you are happy with yourself/job/people/hobbies - then you find energy and time. all the best and thank you one more time for your warm comment 🌟
@@KrisKazlauskaite Anytime! I love baking and I haven't figure it out how to dedicate more time to it. loved this video... thanks for the chance to see a day in the life.. I wake up for a work at 3:45 a.m. everyday for a job I do not love in construction... maybe all these years of waking up that early was to prepare me for a career change to baker!
Thank you! Well you definitely built a physical strength to be a baker as it's quite demanding💪 who knows, maybe your current work just help to understand what you really want 😇
Always wanted to see how’s a baker life in a day, thank you for showing us! Admire your full energy! I am already drained doing bakes whole day just to upload on YT! Keep up the good work gal!
Thank you very much! ☺️ I love what I do but yes, YT takes more time than I originally thought at the beginning 😃 but i feel life and work balance is very important, thats why I find time for sports, learning the language etc. Keep doing what you do and the best of luck☺️
Hello Andres! ohh that is so sweet to hear! Many many thanks! I think it is so important to keep a right balance as it's our core or if we don't have stability or ways to enjoy life, even it's something simple, then it's hard to keep up with your work and cannot be fully enthusiastic about it. Little things that matter :) thank you one more time and see you in the next one :)
No headwear or nets! Besides that: truly awesome! Show the world what we do in real life. Bread Baker here, specializing in Puertorican and Wholegrain Breads.
Totally relate to everything except waking up early! I work in a restaurant which finishes late and by the time I got home already drain so much from standing all day long! Amazing video Kristina, I want to have them all lol and thanks for an insight! 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience! I have worked on service as well, completely different experience, I would say - late start, late finish. Now i do opposite - early start, early finish. Good to see different angles of the kitchen world. 😊 but by all means loved restaurants and all that rush ⏳ Thank you! 🧡
I used to work in a bakery as a part of my hospitality studies, I completely fell in love with the process. I wasn't lucky enough to have a good chef unfortunately, but I took up a bread learning project in the mean time, trying to learn basics, really hope I get to work in a cute bakery in UK/ USA soon! One day I was so tired that I said, my God I have to get up It was that I had no one to support me opening and closing the business, but actually Im considering starting again but just to sale cookies, cakes and cofee. I love that job.

Hola Señorita, Kristina! Sin duda que trabajar en una panadería requiere mucho trabajo físico y mental! Eres una persona admirable y muy trabajadora, tu pasión y dedicación por la panadería te motiva mucho! I worked in a bakery a couple of years ago but many years in the food industry and I have to say it’s a though job. I remember working long hours and all that cleaning. Hopefully one day you get to own your own bakery, I am pretty sure it will be a success! Best regards! :).

Happy news is I got a job on a cruise liner. I would be happy to share my life onboard as a chef. Will connect you on the instagram by the time👍
In 2017 i had an internship at a bakery from 4 am to 12/13pm then in 2018 I started working a bakery, first from 6 am to 14 pm then later my schedule was changed to 4 am to 12 pm! I wish at the time I had this videos to watch and help me! To be there at 4 am usually would awake up at 2/2:30am. Even tho i knew i should be asleep by 18pm I would only go to bed at 23 or later so everything was a mess... now I’m working kinda part-time shifts at a pizza place 🍕 where most days I work from 21 - to 3/4 am so i think is really funny that now I leave work or get to bed at the same time I was before arriving at work... this current schedule is what made look for videos like this of people starting work extremely early or leaving work extremely late ! Thank you for this videos !
Hi Sara, it is super interesting to read comments like this and I totally feel you. The worst i think when the schedule gets mixed so you no longer have your routine. Starting very early also made me stress a bit because bed time id different and sometimes you just cant fall asleep thinking 'ohh i need to wake up soon'. Anyways, super cool to connect with more like minded people. many thanks for your comment :))

Hi Daniele, nice to meet you! So nice to hear such comment from a fellow baker/chef! 😊 I had different kind of hours and shifts, early till late, late and early again I decided that i wont function well If i don't focus on my wellbeing. A profession where you are on your feet 100% of the time. Add in the physical nature of the job, it's no wonder you need to stretch and bend at the end of the day. And all to make delicacies quickly scoffed by the consumer (mostly) unaware of the efforts put in by the baker. A pat on the back to you all.

Nia How was the money? Was it worth the efforts?

Hello Jason! i totally agree, it's fun but there are always things to do 😀 thank you so much for such a lovely comment! see you in the next one :))
Hello! thank you for your comment, i am glad you enjoyed watching all these details😊
of course quality control takes place but since we do this everyday it barely ever happens that someone forgets sugar or yeast for example 😄(happened in the past though), but yes there are always some extra to try and see the consistency of the quality, if something is not right - we don't sell 🤓
The door is a life saver..😊Best whiteboard ever!!!
