I think it really matters what you do for your career but more importantly how you feed your body & soul, so if i just worked i think I would miss something in my life. thats why I find time to these activities to keep me happy, motivated and always push myself 'just a bit more'.😇 i am more than happy to hear such a response from you, thank you dear 🙃
I work as a baker in a small bakery in Finland from 4am to 10am or from 6am to 2pm. We have 2 bakers, a pastry chef and a deep fry operator. We make everything from salty pattys to sweet sweet buns, we are known for our soft potato flatbread that we make a minimum of 60L every day. I usually work the "graveyard shift" where i make all the breads, prep everything for the day. I love my job and im up next in the generation to run the place, its lovely to see how its done in other parts of the world. Keep it up!

Wonderful video, again! Your editing skills are getting better and better. Love the details of how you bake each item. Two lessons I learned: 1. your work looks very heavy! picking up very heavy items all the time. can’t be easy on your back. 2. lots of delayed gratification. you don’t see the final outcome of your work that day - once you finish rolling the croissants, they go in the fridge, not the oven! all for tomorrow. so you have to be OK with knowing they’ll be baked tomorrow but not today. very nice future-mindset...

Yes - we prepare pastries for tomorrow but it is like never ending cycle - some people prepare, some people bake, the most important the outcome and happy customer 😊🖤

good work I have been working in a bakery since 2005. I am an expert in making cakes, pastries and biscuits This job is my hobby so I never get tired of the work I am making. When it becomes, I feel very happy to see it. Make your work your hobby. You never get tired.

Yo trabajaba en algo así pero mucho más pequeño, misma rutina, preparar en la noche lo necesario para el día siguiente y dormir, al otro día bañarme y correr porque mi trabajo también me quedaba lejos, y yo me encargaba de casi todo, solo tenía dos personas para ayudarme, hacíamos lo mismo, trabajar con la masa laminada de un día antes y hacer todos nuestros panes, después laminabamos la masa que se utilizaría al día siguiente y la masa que se va a laminar, al final la limpieza y después correr a casa, lo más desgastante era el transporte porque no tengo carro jaja Me identifiqué mucho con tu video. I have lived in California for 40 years plus but grew up up as a child around the Elephant, Borough, London bridge and St. Georges circus. Looks like Tooley street or St. Thomas Street area?. @@KrisKazlauskaite gracias!.... es una experiencia increíble, trabajas 10 a 12 horas todos los días. No hay días libres y los contratos son de 8 a 10 meses. Tendrás de 8 a 10 semanas de vacaciones. Los salarios muy malos como la mayoría de trabajos en cocina 😂😂. Yo trabajé en Royal Caribbean. Lo positivo es que puedes conocer muchos países gratis y comida gratis. Mucha suerte en la panadería!! I love seeing how other bakers days are! Its very true about making sure to stay fit and taking care of your body...during the holiday season in 2019 I ended up pulling my abdomen from lifting heavy mixing bowls onto awkwardly tall prep tables (for my height) and not addressing the injury right away. Baking is the best job ever if you ask me but it's definitely very hard on your body!
Hello! I am so sorry to hear you had an accident at work! It’s so easy actually to hurt yourself at work, if it’s not heavy lifting so it’s cut, if it’s not a cut then it’s burn and so on. Very important thing we should remember - no running in the kitchen, do things fast but not rushed. I have bad experience as well but it gave some lessons too. I personally trying not to lift more than I should anymore, still wanna do this job for awhile so I need to look after myself 😇 that is why I find time and energy to exercise after work, just to condition my body and mind 😌 are you still baking?
@@KrisKazlauskaite yes of course!! I love it way too much to give it up! I've for sure had my fair share of cuts and burns over the years but nothing ever seriously bad luckily. But it definitely is almost always something 😅Yes, after that injury I made sure to make sure I'm not overworking myself and try to get someone to help me if they will with the really heavy doughs. Exercise really is the best! A lot of people I've worked with in bakeries and kitchens have been pretty interested in keeping fit for their mind and to help with looking after the body 😌
@@claire1119 looks like we are liked-minded chefs 😀 going through the lessons and luckily learning something from them. 🍀 Well I really wish you no more injuries and probably daily self care is the answer for our further well-being ☺️

Hi Gavin, I started by baking a lot at home, then I decided to study, i found an internship, then job, followed what i liked, what interested me. I feel actual work experience is the most important, so i got used to a kitchen flow. At some point I got interested in viennoiserie, thats how i ended up at the bakery🥐

Two lessons I learned: 1. your work looks very heavy! picking up very heavy items all the time. can’t be easy on your back. 2. lots of delayed gratification. you don’t see the final outcome of your work that day - once you finish rolling the croissants, they go in the fridge, not the oven! all for tomorrow. so you have to be OK with knowing they’ll be baked tomorrow but not today. very nice future-mindset...

Yes - we prepare pastries for tomorrow but it is like never ending cycle - some people prepare, some people bake, the most important the outcome and happy customer 😊🖤

good work I have been working in a bakery since 2005. I am an expert in making cakes, pastries and biscuits This job is my hobby so I never get tired of the work I am making. When it becomes, I feel very happy to see it. Make your work your hobby. You never get tired.

Yo trabajaba en algo así pero mucho más pequeño, misma rutina, preparar en la noche lo necesario para el día siguiente y dormir, al otro día bañarme y correr porque mi trabajo también me quedaba lejos, y yo me encargaba de casi todo, solo tenía dos personas para ayudarme, hacíamos lo mismo, trabajar con la masa laminada de un día antes y hacer todos nuestros panes, después laminabamos la masa que se utilizaría al día siguiente y la masa que se va a laminar, al final la limpieza y después correr a casa, lo más desgastante era el transporte porque no tengo carro jaja

@@KrisKazlauskaite gracias!.... es una experiencia increíble, trabajas 10 a 12 horas todos los días. No hay días libres y los contratos son de 8 a 10 meses. Tendrás de 8 a 10 semanas de vacaciones.
Los salarios muy malos como la mayoría de trabajos en cocina 😂😂. Yo trabajé en Royal Caribbean. Lo positivo es que puedes conocer muchos países gratis y comida gratis.

I love seeing how other bakers days are! Its very true about making sure to stay fit and taking care of your body...during the holiday season in 2019 I ended up pulling my abdomen from lifting heavy mixing bowls onto awkwardly tall prep tables (for my height) and not addressing the injury right away. Baking is the best job ever if you ask me but it's definitely very hard on your body!
Hello! I am so sorry to hear you had an accident at work! It’s so easy actually to hurt yourself at work, if it’s not heavy lifting so it’s cut, if it’s not a cut then it’s burn and so on. Very important thing we should remember - no running in the kitchen, do things fast but not rushed. I have bad experience as well but it gave some lessons too. I personally trying not to lift more than I should anymore, still wanna do this job for awhile so I need to look after myself 😇 that is why I find time and energy to exercise after work, just to condition my body and mind 😌 are you still baking?
@@KrisKazlauskaite yes of course!! I love it way too much to give it up! I've for sure had my fair share of cuts and burns over the years but nothing ever seriously bad luckily. But it definitely is almost always something 😅Yes, after that injury I made sure to make sure I'm not overworking myself and try to get someone to help me if they will with the really heavy doughs. Exercise really is the best! A lot of people I've worked with in bakeries and kitchens have been pretty interested in keeping fit for their mind and to help with looking after the body 😌

How did you get starting in baking/working in a bakery?
Hi Gavin, I started by baking a lot at home, then I decided to study, i found an internship, then job, followed what i liked, what interested me. I feel actual work experience is the most important, so i got used to a kitchen flow. At some point I got interested in viennoiserie, thats how i ended up at the bakery🥐
