I apologize if the episode sound is too loud or characters talking while I'm talking! I accidentally recorded the mic and episode audio together on the same file!
    Regardless, I hope you enjoy!

You should watch the 1973 movie The Sting with Robert Redford and Paul Newman. It’s actually great for reactions as well, but even if you just watch it for your own enjoyment, you should see it.
Not sure how much you watch older movies (it’s from before my time as well), but it’s still absolutely great (in case you’re tentative about watching older films).
Love your reactions as always! 👍

Hey Bunny, two types of police stings that are well known to capture law breakers. The first, a policewoman dresses as a street walker and when the john makes the deal, he is arrested. The second is a bait car, unlocked with keys in it. When the thief steals the car and drives off the engine is remotely shut off and doors locked. Car thieves are then arrested.

I love how the Varrick reveal re-contextualizes everything about him, and shows just how he got as rich as he did. Remember what he said: "If you can't make money during a war, you just flat out cannot make money." And who was the Southerner most firmly pushing for war in episodes 3 and 4?
It also speaks to one of the major themes of the season, how people put on masks to hide their true intentions--Tonrak and Tenzin hide things from Korra, Varrick deceives everyone around him with his "I'm just eccentric haha!" thing, and Unalaq has his own motivations that only he knows as well.

Oooh yeah, you're right! Varrick sure is turning out to be a very interesting character!

Don't think a sting is a police exclusive term, more of a collective term for any complex con or set up. I recommend you check out 1973s "The Sting" or further watching.

    Yeah…
I remember being so frustrated with this episode that I jumped to the third season and watched the rest of the second season later…
Retrospectively, I wish I had not, but it felt right at the time. Lol.
I was just not digging the Nuktuk subplot or the breakup or the general direction of things.
It was okay in the end and I enjoyed the second half of season 2 a great deal.

@@bunnytailsREACTS she escalates every situation in which she is involved and does not seem to ever consider the possibility that a different point of view could be correct. Also there seems to be a general acceptance that women can be as horrible as they want to be in a relationship and the guy just has to accept it. I won't even bother going into how the whole spirit element was reduced from each spirit having their own morality with no good or bad to light being good and dark being bad, especially since Eastern philosophy is deeply rooted in the five element system not four and definitely not two. There is a lot that is good in the series but there was a lot of studio interference where they would be informed mid season to wrap things up because they were being cancelled just to later be told that they could finish the season which caused many issues.

@bunnytailsREACTS I hate that they bring back the love triangle bs from season one, I think they try to hard to make Mako seem sympathetic and noble when everything he does this season just makes things harder for the rest of team avatar, and I couldn't care less about Bolin's movie career.

    • @mori1bund
      @mori1bund 2 месяца назад

      @@kuningaskolassas4720 I disagree!
Mako is just a flawed teenager making teenager mistakes like all of them. He's grown up and out of it by season 4.
When ATLA characters make mistakes in the early seasons it's a "character arc", but when the very same thing happens in LOK people complain.
I can imagine what people like you would say if Mako had Sokka's arc... 😂😂🤣
And I like Bolin's movie career because its a brillant parody/homage of things that *really* happened in the early 20th century, including early movies, propaganda flicks, etc
