"I love it already... I love the music..." Tron Legacy has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard! Daft Punk REALLY nailed it on this one. The entire soundtrack matches the theme of the film PERFECTLY! Just a pure work of masterpiece.

Yes! Really underrated, good writing, good characters, great voice acting and soundtrack, and makes this movie even better, i wish someone would react to it, it need more recognition.
VASTLY underrated movie. Great soundtrack. Quorra said that if Flynn reintegrated with Clu that it would end them both, and it did. FYI Joseph Kosinski also directed Top Gun: Maverick!
You're right. This movie was on the cusp of facial replacement. Nearly everything after was better. This is one of those movies where everyone was at their best! The music was a perfect match. The CGI look was amazing. While the story is a little simple, it worked and worked well! I think the real star was director Joe Kosinski! He insisted on practical sets. The movie was moderately successful. Why did it take 10 years to start a sequel? Disney bought a little franchise called Marvel which gave them a license to print money! They poured all their assets into Marvel and Star Wars and left poor Tron behind.
They also blamed TOMORROWLAND's failure as the reason to cancel TRON 3. As if they had anything to do with each other! TL made it's money back and more, it earned its right to a sequel! And we could've gotten both Cillian Murphy AND David Warner again!
i give this movie a lot of credit when it comes to facial replacement. i think it was a HUGE step in the right direction, and only 6 years later, disney gave us rogue one with peter cushing and carrie fisher, and i thought that facial replacement looked great for 2016.
Imagine you're in a dark and mostly empty movie theater. It's 1982 and you just watched Tron. As you collect your thoughts, the credits begin to roll. Then you hear a haunting song, one you've never heard before, but you instantly recognize the band...and the voice. That was my experience the first time I heard Journey's Only Solutions. Now there's a movie memory for you.
The original Flynn's Arcade from TRON still exists in Culver City, CA. It was built in 1925 and housed many different businesses. It has been remodeled, and now, there is a restaurant called Akasha. For TRON Legacy they built a replica of the original building on a soundstage in Vancouver, Canada.
This film definitely sticks with you as a frozen moment in time from the era it came out. The music, the aura, the philosophy, the discs, the clothing...and speaking of outfits, really digging the corset/boddice approach.
The first time I saw this in the theater I was SO impressed, that I went back the next day to shell out for IMAX 3-D. Suffice it to say, MIND BLOWN! This was one of THE MOST visually immersive 3-D movie experiences I have ever had. Also, the soundtrack burns the house down.
I can't tell you how agreeable your appreciation of Ram is. You're right. He's just so damn pure. I grew up such a fan of the original Tron. While it got a lot of love early-on, it fell out of fashion to say you loved Tron QUICKLY. But I was the type of personality that they were making it for. You couldn't be too literal about the technology, while at the same time having a sense of wonder about burgeoning technologies. Tron is wrongly categorized as a sci-fi when (similar to Star Wars) it is PURE fantasy. Like a dream. Anyway, when the sequel came out, I was beyond ecstatic, and thankfully it was spared the modern era of ruining franchises because it came out a little before the trend began. I'm beyond jaded with modern cinema with how it's flown all of the franchises into the ground. However, I give myself permission to be hopeful with the new Tron sequel in production, even though it's being made by one of the most guilty corporations, Disney. Because Tron always has been Disney. It wasn't appropriated, assimilated from the outside. It was theirs from the start. So I have a grain of faith that it will be another good Tron. Fingers crossed. Partly because it's a small franchise, it's never let me down. It's one of my few refuges from the graveyard of modern cinema. I'd love to have another installment that's just as good.
Nearly everyone in this movie is dealing with a great loss. Sam lost his father, Kevin lost his son and his dream, Quorra lost her people, Clu lost his faith, Tron lost his identity. There is a quiet sadness that runs through the whole movie. Sad but beautiful too.
The face replacement CGI was cutting edge at the time this film came out, and whilst it did look janky even back then, but as with the original Tron, it set the groundwork for some of the tech we see now in pretty much every CGI heavy movie released. Seriously, though, on the whole this film still looks great 14 years later. Love the homages to the world of the original movie, with the sail barge, the light cycles, the old arcade and even the giant ENCOM door. The Daft Punk's soundtrack is absolutely amazing...and I'm going to have top stick the album on repeat now
I am VERY excited to see TRON: ARES. It's a quasi-sequel centering on new characters, but it will have many connections to the original 2 TRON movies > the movie is being directed by Joachim Ronning: he was Director of "Young Woman and The Sea" which has received many positive movie reviews by both Film Critics and Audiences. Showing he's evolved and learned to be a very well versed and skilled director overall. > Cinematography in the movie is by Jeff Cronenweth whom did the cinematography on "Fight Club", "The Social Network", and "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" which all had great cinematography. > Stars many talented actors such as Cameron Monaghan, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, and the venerable Jeff Bridges. > Continues to use a blend of practical sets, physical props, and physical VFX technology combined with digital VFX, and specialized lighting effects evolving the VFX techniques used in "TRON LEGACY" > The score is being composed by the highly talented and experienced Trent Reznor and Atticus (Nine Inch Nails) focusing on their own flavor of intense electronica-synth music. > Script and Screenplay is by a collaboration between multiple BAFTA winning, multi-nominated Jack Thorne with Jess Wigutau. > Steve Lisberger is one of the Executive Producers on the movie to offer his knowledge and input of the entire "Tron" universe into the movie during production. > There's a *possibility* of a cameo with Garret Hedlund as Sam Flynn for a special scene that *might* set up a "TRON 4".
Your empathy is amazing, it doesn't just affect you it passes through visually and audibly to others and we benefit from this gift of yours. I have thanked you before but must do so again. Thank you.
To answer your last question first, YES! After waiting so many years for a sequel, this did not disappoint at all. Just like you I yelled "Don't stop!" when it ended like that. I watch both movies back to back quite often, just as I do with Blade Runner. Not many sequels can stand next to their originals but both Tron and Blade Runner sequels were worth waiting for. As for a third movie, I'll believe it when I see it, but like you I'm not sure how they can progress the story without two key characters.
in my opinion the greatest 2 hours scifi-Musicvideo of all time. And it makes me emotional everytime I watch it.Thanks for another great reaction from you.🤗Greetings from germany/bavaria
I love this movie soooo much, but it's also so heartbreaking. They absolutely deserved a sequel, but Disney is so drastically different now than they were in 2010, I can't imagine they'll have the same magic and heart this one did. I have pretty low expectations at this point. The original Tron and this one did everything so perfect. Legacy took a great story idea with innovative effects, and ramped it up exponentially. Do we really think Ares is going to do the same? I'll hope for the best, but after all this time and changes within Disney, I don't see how it's possible.
The saddest part: Disney was right in the middle of Marvel success, so they put the sequel to this movie on the shelf. I also wanted to see the reception of Tron and Dillinger play a greater role. I mean, you get Cillian Murphy and don't use him?!
@NoGoodDirtyRicer I do have faith. Having been young when first seeing Tron and playing the arcade game, Legacy was a masterpiece, save for a VERY FEW issues (please bring Rinzler/Tron back and Cillian as Dillinger in a more involved role). And Legacy released many, many years after. Crossing my fingers for Ares
one neat things they did with this movie was that they used 3D in the same way Wizard of Oz used color. when your in the real world everything was like a normal movie only on GRID did the 3D kick in. good news is you dont have wait that long for next movie... unlike us that saw it when it came out. Flynn lives. END OF LINE
The marketing for this movie was amazing. There were all kinds of events online and IRL, lots of ways to get Tron swag for months and moths leading up to the movie. I have several enamel pins, cards, an ENCOM work badge with my picture and matching lanyard, and more.
BunnyTails - Xmen last stand was first major film to use deaging on a actor. Tron 2 came out later , but budget was probably very expensive all ready .
Bunny.... GAMES! -- I'm still astounded this movie even got made. Perhaps most surprising is how Daft Punk produced one of the best movie soundtracks. Sure, the CGI isn't perfect, but it doesn't matter. A near perfect movie.
I want another one sooooo badd. This movie was so overlooked. As an older guy myself, this was exactly what I wanted a sequel to be. Maybe it didn't quite land with the young audience, I dunno. I know I liked it alot.
Tron 1 and 2 pushed digital boundaries, literally! Albeit using earlier tech in both, they paved the way for so much. I think Tron Legacy may be the most visually and audibly awesome movie, ever.
"I love it already" I remember thinking the same thing when it first came out! Let's all pray to the Users that they don't screw up Ares!!! I'm trying to be optimistic... but I'm concerned given what's been released about the plot line, and that it's NOT a sequel to Legacy.
Bunny, I am so glad that you didn't have to wait decades like I did AND that you.truly get it. This film was intended to have a sequel and while it spawned an animated show, that didn't last long and isn't a proper substitute for a film. My fingers are crossed that we will one day get the next movie.
I like the use of the de-aging technology specifically because of how it looks. Clu was made when Flynn was young, and he's a program inside a computer system. So him being in a perpetually young state and looking like a video game character fits perfectly for what Clu is fundamentally.
Not only that, the appearance of any non-user true program inside the grid is artificially, created anyway. They're living bits of computeryness. However, that said, that leaves just one instance of "cgi face" that is still a tad bothersome, during Flynn's conversation with young Sam. That one should have been done as real as possible, because it was intended to be taken as "actually young human Kevin Flynn". So, to me, personally, that exact scene is the only true problematic one.
@@Cre80s tbf, as she wondered aloud, this was indeed one of the first uses of the technology. Some leniency was to be expected and this fell well within it.
@@callmeshaggy5166 It was "an early implementation" of the the technology. But, while it may sound like splitting hairs, Tron Legacy's use of de-aging was not what I would call "one of the first." It had been used in films for half a decade by that point. Just sayin'.
I don't know how you feel about animated shows, but if you want more Tron, the animated show Tron Uprising is fantastic. It's not watered down for kids and is equal to, possibly better than both movies. Bruce Boxleitner's in it and he's even more amazing as Tron this time.
Just before this movie was released, Disney came to San Diego Comic Con and leased a space downtown. The entrance was transformed into Flynn’s Arcade complete with vintage video games and 80’s music playing. You could play for awhile and then you were lead to an opening behind a Tron game and you were in the lab. Lights flashed and you were digitized. On to the next room and you were in a full size “End Of The Line” club. You had drinks and Daft Punk music was playing. It was mind blowing! Awesome movie and great reaction.
I love that TL was recognized in its time for how amazing it is (it took about 10 years). It's both a great sequel made by people who understood the original but it's also a modern religious film: putting Man in the place of God and making him confront the burden of creatorhood, as well as establishing species independent of Creation. A radical move for the Maushaus. So many layers and meanings. And in 2010, that face-replacement tech was amazing; yeah, 15 years later it's weak, but at the time? Fantastic. Still so goddamn angry we never got the proper TRON 3; they were all set to go when TOMORROWLAND's receipts gave Di$ney cold feet. I'll never forgive Di$ney for that. Supposedly the 3rd one's in production but it's likely been changed from the intended one. Olivia Wilde said that one of her ideas for TRON 3 was to have Quorra trying to talk to machines to see if they're aware. Like, in a kitchen she tests out talking to toasters, etc.
In the years Bridges has studied Buddhism. The first movie was about winning. This movie is about being. CLU is not evil. He is exactly what he was intended to be. Flynn thought perfection was about a win to a perfectly designed system. Since he has realized perfection is not a goal, but an ongoing process of improvement. The movie ends with Sam and Cora just experiencing the sunrise and seeing nature made perfection for them. Flynn debugs Cora and extracts a butterfly from her corrupted code.
It is quite the testament that the Tron saga has a habit of pioneering leaps in technology. I get your complaints with the face de-aging, for Jeff bridges, but it was only the 8th movie to use such techniques and looked infinitely better than some of the earlier attempts like Patrick Stewart in X-Men 3. I can't wait to see what they'll wow us with in the sequel next year.
Watching this more than 25 years after the original hit so many feels for me. They were so true to the spirit of the original. I loved it. I'm afraid the next one won't measure up. I wouldn't mind if they went back and re-did all the CGI in the original to match this movie.
Well, Jeff Bridges WILL be back in TRON: ARES coming out in October 10 2025..... Flynn's is made of code/complex data and data and files can be defragmented and recompiled. All the data files of "The Grid" are on Sam's flash drive card. There *might be* a cameo with Sam Flynn in TRON: ARES.
this is different then the one i have. on my Blu-ray a lot of the scenes in the grid expand from 2:35:1 to a more screen filling 1:85:1. this is the best way to watch it.
Flynn's residence in the system really reminds me of part of the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Back in the Day? Did you see the light cycle assembly CGI?! This was 2010!
This was the 2nd major use of de-aging ever, and Disney's first use of it. This is what paved the way for young Tony Stark, Hank Pym, Nick Fury, Coulson, Rachel Weisz, Davis Harbour, Kurt Russel, Stan Lee, Howard Stark, Michelle Pfeiffer, Luke Skywalker, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, etc etc.....
Thank you so very much for this reaction... its been a while now since iv watched any tron and now I find out there will be a tron 3 at the end ! Made me cry man...
Fun reaction. WOW! This movie is 14 years old. Fantastic effects for 2010. The cgi de-aged Kevin Flynn is the only visual effect that looks a bit off. Much of the real world scenes were filmed in my home city of Vancouver BC Canada. So I find it cool that Quorra see's her first sun rise as her and Sam ride over the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver. Fun fact: That Bridge has a connection to other well known movies and shows because Lionsgate film studio was named after that bridge. That film studio is known for movies such as The Hunger Games, John Wick, and many more including TV series. I do think it's disappointing/strange that Sam and Quorra won't be in the next film since their supposed to change the world together.
Fun facts about this movie, there was supposed to be a third, they wanted this movie to be a launching pad to world-build out the Tron universe. That unfortunately failed! Also you wouldnt have noticed but those 2 DJ's in Castors End of Line Club were ACTUALLY Daft Punk!
I was lucky enough to see both movies when they were released in the theaters. Radically different from any other movies.... Some trivia here: When the crowd was cheering during the games, it was done with the audience at a San Diego Comic Con by the producer. He had the sound team record them chanting for Rinzler.
I was an assistant manager at a movie theater when this came out so I go to be the lucky one who got to preview the movie in 3d to make sure it worked. It was so sick back then, still sick now.
As always, I absolutely love your reaction! It's so refreshing to see this through new eyes. If you can track it down, there was a short released for this called "The Next Day" that might give you some added enjoyment and continuity.
Also, you have a lot on your plate, but there was a prequel series called "TRON: Uprising" that had a strange art style but very meaningful stories bridging the time between the two movies.
Bruce Boxleitner originally signed on to play both Alan and Tron again, when Disney was going to make a direct sequel to "Legacy" in March of 2015. The actors for Sam & Quorra had also agreed to return as well, but by July of that same year Disney scrapped their original plans, which angered Boxleitner to the point he divorced himself from the franchise. Jared Leto's character of Ares was taken from that abandoned script, but the studio hasn't said what if any changes were made for the changed direction of the series. The fact that Jeff Bridges came back is very good news, and maybe he'll have a few lines about Sam or Quorra, so they can come back in a fourth film if the new one succeeds.
one of the few great sequels. A win for me.. I loved this style of music anyway! So I was tossing up garden work after your intro or watching this vid... welp, it looks like garden work with the soundtrack on full. Catchya later!
Look up "Tron Legacy The Next Day Flynn Lives Revealed" here on YT. They're short films that fill in some extra details about the movie and what happens afterward, and they have major actors from the OG movie and Legacy! And yeah, digital Jeff Bridges looked bad even then, though it was indeed groundbreaking. Personally, I gave Clu a bit of a pass since he was literally a digital copy of a real person, but CG Kevin Flynn was just... ugh.
Clu was one of the first movies to use deaging with a main character. Yah it’s a bit off, but in this case I think it works. Clu was the first program that Kevin Flynn wrote and so is a little off. It gives the character some stiffness that fits his personality.
I love this movie as I did the first. I waited forever for Legacy being made and released after seeing the first in theaters and being amazed by it. A sequel has been teased and cancelled more than I know since Legacy came out, so I don't believe it actually exists until I'm watching it in a theater.
Heyyy! Glad you liked one of my fav movies. Definitely a hidden gem. Today I went on and watched almost all the reaction videos for this movie (there goes my saturday lol) and yours was great! Thanks for the video, watched it with pleasure! I rarely comment but, even though it was very blurry, I think I saw PC big boxes on the shelf in the back, and I think I saw Mass Effect 1-3 back there...and if that's the case - additional kudos to you from a fellow collector and ME 1-3 fan.)) Wonder what were the other games. PS: Kill la Kill poster just adds to your awesomeness, since I LOVE this misunderstood gem of entertainment as well!)) So, anyways, many thanks and best wishes to you!
I really enjoyed the movie as well. I really enjoyed the story as it is a great take on the God and Lucifer and Humans thing from (some versions) of Christian Theology. Really enjoyed your reaction, as always!
There’s an old FPS game called Tron 2.0 where you play as Jet Bradley, Alan’s son (and yes, Alan is voiced by the original actor), who ends up trapped in the system
I rewatched this before seeing your reaction yep knew you would love it. I didn’t know about Tron Ares thanks Bunny! This movie was the first use of deaging technology. It wasn’t perfect but started us on the path. Cgi brought us gov tark and princess Lea in Rogue one. Wasn’t quite perfect. But Dark fate did it and Indiana Jones Dial of destiny deaged Harrison Ford correctly. Now the tech is there and gives older lol even dead actors the chance to play younger.
Without knowing much about the plot to the upcoming installment, I gathered from the ending to _Legacy_ that Kevin's final act to stop CLU was so destructive that it destroyed the portal on the Grid side, making subsequent trips to the Grid impossible. The visuals and surface-level story aside, the film touches on how easily and quickly machines could overtake our own world -- raising an army in digital form can done in nanoseconds on the Grid (relative to our time). The nature of the Grid also means that there are limitless possibilities for weaponry, vehicles, armor, etc -- in effect, any committed megalomaniac could raise an near-invincible force. Out here in the real world, our weapons, vehicles, armor, etc are restricted by our laws of physics, chemistry, materials, manpower, etc. Digital weapons have no such encumbrances; they will do whatever their source code describes, irrespective of any physical laws here in our realm. In essence, computer power is - by any human standard - god-like power; literally the only reason it doesn't swipe us aside like an insect is because the power has no way to "get out." It's trapped within the confines of the digital realm - your laptop, your PC, your phone, the Internet, etc. In _Legacy,_ the portal offered a doorway to get out. It's a doorway that should _NEVER_ be opened, even for a second. So I suspect Kevin closed the portal permanently to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future; the risk is too great for inter-universe travel between here and the Grid. Think about it -- a few lines of code would be all that's needed to make your army impervious to any weapon known to humans. Someone like CLU could dominate the entire world within days with that kind of power. Much like Doc wanting the DeLorean destroyed in _Back to the Future,_ some prices are too just damned high for the scientific gains.
The CG face tech used in this movie was an updated version of the tools originally used by the same team at Digital Domain for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button two years earlier. A major reason that the CG Flynn face didn't look nearly as good as the CG faces in Benjamin Button, despite coming later and having had two years to improve upon the pipeline, was that Jeff Bridges refused to do the extensive facial capture that was required, and so the animation team had to mostly work using traditional methods rather than with all the 3D witness cam data that made Benjamin Button so successful.
Tron: Legacy is such an underrated film. The visual effects are awesome and the soundtrack is unforgettable. I wish Joe Kosinski was actually directing the new Tron movie that will be coming out though.
A bit of trivia. According to Olivia Wilde, she got to choose her hairstyle for Kora. In an interview, she said that she wanted a hair style that would make her equally arousing to both men and women. Personally I think she overachieved a bit. Also, I was very disappointed that the story didn't continue further for Sam and Kora. Originally the plan was to continue to a third movie at least, but Tron: Legacy tanked at the box office.
27:57 you are correct. If they would've made this movie today with the CGI I really think more people would've enjoyed it. Because that's what I hear most not like about this film.
This was filmed in Vancouver, B.C., Canada at the end this is most obvious, cycle on the highway at sunrise. The earlier part at night, looks like an average city. A lot of film/tv made in Vancouver since the 90's. I have visited that fine city, a few times -one of my favorite locations in Canada!
I highly recommend the video game Tron Evolution, which begins shortly before Clu's hostile takeover and shows the immediate consequences, basically the longer version of Flynn's flashback. It also explains the how and why of Clu becoming what he is.
I noticed they mirrored trons death the same way we see when he first tries fighting clu in the flashback.Ive always loved the way tron redeems himself because he knows he couldve shot clu down easily but didnt wanna risk hitting flynn, sam or cora the same way he tried to defeat clu so thats why you we see him sacrifice himself by tackling him the same way like how he did to save flynn in 1982 but realized he did so many bad things so thats why he sacrificed himself by smashing through clu. Overall tron redeemed himself and thank goodness he survived in tron uprising. Overall hes alive
Top 10 soundtrack IMO. Great visuals and sounds. The Sirens are so cool. Very Underrated flick. The only thing I’d change (Spoiler) is having the Rinzler change back to Tron be more dramatic. I mean the movies are called Tron…Lol
The score should've been Oscar nominated. Bruce Boxleitner (Tron/Alan) was upset and thought Disney gave up on it the moment they aquired Star Wars. But I liked this better than any of the Star Wars sequels. Essentially they traded a chance for Cillian Murphy with Jared Leto instead. Not a good trade methinks.
There is an older game called Tron 2.0 that was the closest thing we had to a sequel for the longest time. Great game, not hugely long but absolutely worth a play through when you patch it up for current systems.
Tron: Legacy is amazing. I know many people who consider this movie to be their all-time favorite movie in the world! I love it, too. You may have enjoyed the first film, but this movie is an experience!! -OG

Love the homages to the world of the original movie, with the sail barge, the light cycles, the old arcade and even the giant ENCOM door. The Daft Punk's soundtrack is absolutely amazing...and I'm going to have top stick the album on repeat now
Bruce Boxlightner played Tron and Jeff Bridges played Kevin Flynn.
And Jerry Mathers as the Beaver
...the Professor and Mary Ann...
@@Cre80s ...and the rest.
I am VERY excited to see TRON: ARES. It's a quasi-sequel centering on new characters, but it will have many connections to the original 2 TRON movies
> the movie is being directed by Joachim Ronning: he was Director of "Young Woman and The Sea" which has received many positive movie reviews by both Film Critics and Audiences.
> Continues to use a blend of practical sets, physical props, and physical VFX technology combined with digital VFX, and specialized lighting effects evolving the VFX techniques used in "TRON LEGACY"
> The score is being composed by the highly talented and experienced Trent Reznor and Atticus (Nine Inch Nails) focusing on their own flavor of intense electronica-synth music.
I'd be more excited about Ares if it weren't being produced by & starring Jared Leto
I’ll never forgive Hollywood for not giving this a sequel. Master and Commander too.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this, it's a great sequel to the original.
Your empathy is amazing, it doesn't just affect you it passes through visually and audibly to others and we benefit from this gift of yours. I have thanked you before but must do so again. Thank you.
If you're not familiar with Bruce Boxlightner, you can't have seen Babylon 5? He has a lead part in the series, one of the best TV sci-fis ever.
Millennials could never watch B5 by the time they had their own TVs. You can stream it now on Tubi but it's been gone from cable TV.
Scarecrow & Mrs King was better
@@docsavage8640 The shows aren't at all comparable.
@@docsavage8640 You can like two things.
Yes, starting with season 2. So don't get turned off if you look for him and don't see him in the first few episodes.
BunnyTails - YES, thats the real Tron & Yori from the First move.
and yes, they used DE-aging software for JEFF.
That was the first de-aging in a movie. Very fitting for a TRON movie to have a digital first again.
No those are the kid's grandparents in 1989. Yori was as old as Allen (Tron).
I dropped so many quarters into that Tron arcade game
Tron fell into the Sea of Simulation, so I don't think he's gone.
Goddamn, that soundtrack never disappoints! Daft Punk really nailed it. Did you see their cameo as the DJs in the nightclub?
"Is that a girl?" Oh, my goodness, yes.
thank you for reacting to on of my fav sequels. Your reaction was Great as always and happy you derived as much enjoyment from the movie as I did!
I mean, you get Cillian Murphy and don't use him?!
the failure of Tomorrow Land pretty much killed the 3rd movie at the time too... but... Flynn LIVES
On the upside, Tron: Ares is on its way.
@@Elios0000 And I'll say it again: WTF does TOMORROLAND have to do with TRON?! Nothing! So it's a BS excuse on their part.
one neat things they did with this movie was that they used 3D in the same way Wizard of Oz used color. when your in the real world everything was like a normal movie only on GRID did the 3D kick in. good news is you dont have wait that long for next movie... unlike us that saw it when it came out.
Bunny.... GAMES!

I'm still astounded this movie even got made.
Loved both the original and this sequel. Was a treat to see you fall in love with it
"I love it already" I remember thinking the same thing when it first came out!
I always like to think the ISO's were symbolic of Quantum computing. Something beyond the scope of classic computing, getting treated like a virus.
This was one of the first films to use CG for digital de-aging, so yeah, it's not the best looking. It can be almost flawless now.
This and the original are favorites of mine. Looking forward to Tron: Ares.
I am so looking forward to seeing your reaction to this, but I have to wait for my lunchtime to do it!
I think this might be my favorite reaction to TRON Legacy that I've ever seen.
Great reaction! I enjoyed your viewing, very entertaining! Thanks!
Great film, they dropped the ball with no follow up. Wonderful reaction Bunny.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The DJ's at the club are portrayed by Daft Punk
Look up "Tron Legacy The Next Day Flynn Lives Revealed" here on YT. They're short films that fill in some extra details about the movie and what happens afterward, and they have major actors from the OG movie and Legacy!
And yeah, digital Jeff Bridges looked bad even then, though it was indeed groundbreaking. Personally, I gave Clu a bit of a pass since he was literally a digital copy of a real person, but CG Kevin Flynn was just... ugh.
This was one of the most incredible theater experiences I've had.
Clu was one of the first movies to use deaging with a main character. Yah it’s a bit off, but in this case I think it works. Clu was the first program that Kevin Flynn wrote and so is a little off. It gives the character some stiffness that fits his personality.
It blows my mind that Quorra--a purely digital being--could come through the portal with a flesh-and-blood body. Crazy!
There was so much hope for a sequel to this. It's sad we never got it.
I love this movie as I did the first. I waited forever for Legacy being made and released after seeing the first in theaters and being amazed by it.
A sequel has been teased and cancelled more than I know since Legacy came out, so I don't believe it actually exists until I'm watching it in a theater.
Thanks Bunnytailas. I wish I had met your father.
can't wait for Tron: Ares
Can't wait for the new Tron, coming next year.
A cracking score
This movie has such a vibe to it, so many great scenes with awesome soundtrack.
Reconizer.
Recognizer. It recognizes programs and their access levels.
My first time watching u watch a film: you’re terrific….if u keep going, you’ll certainly reach 100k in time, Bunny. ❤🎉😊
The CG face tech used in this movie was an updated version of the tools originally used by the same team at Digital Domain for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button two years earlier. A major reason that the CG Flynn face didn't look nearly as good as the CG faces in Benjamin Button, despite coming later and having had two years to improve upon the pipeline, was that Jeff Bridges refused to do the extensive facial capture that was required, and so the animation team had to mostly work using traditional methods rather than with all the 3D witness cam data that made Benjamin Button so successful.
this movie was amazing in Imax 3D back in the day.
You should sample the soundtrack created by *_Daft Punk_* which is just brilliant. To this day, I still use it for my workouts and long walks.
The only thing I’d change (Spoiler)
is having the Rinzler change back to Tron be more dramatic.
-OG
