Fun Fact: The writers planned to possibly give Princess Azula a redemption arc, but they didn't push through. But it was related to how Katara was teaching Azula spiritual stuff if I'm correct. And with that in mind, a popular theory is that the old lady who discovered/saved the amnesia'd Korra and brought her to the island may possibly just be the now spiritual older Azula who must've become a priestess since Zuko took the throne.
Lin is complicated. She might be friendly towards Mako personally in previous season but she also is Mako's boss. You could she her prickly side in season 1 already; thats her character and you learn more in the future about her to help you understand her better. Sure she may be a bit edgy; but in the real world when beat cops butt in on the detectives job; their sergeant/captain will also dress them down like that; your job is your job.
I think part of it is also the new president. This guy is all about appearances and he seems to be cracking down on her in particular to solve the cases for public approval. Mako isn't making that an easier for her.
I got the vibe that Korra *was* eaten by the dark spirit which corrupted her energy and caused her to lose her memory. It was left somewhat ambiguous as to what happened and how. In regards to Lin, the president has been breathing down her neck threatening her job, so she's very stressed these days. Mako is tackling jobs that he isn't technically qualified for, so he's causing more stress for her, even though his heart is in the right place and he's on the right track.
Varick is all about money... He's a pure, self-interested capitalist... He's not making moral decisions; he's making business decisions... He's not on the "good guy team" or the "bad guy team"; he's on his own team...
I dont think its confirmed whether or not Korra ended up temporarily in the spirits belly, I always assumed that she got eaten and spit out, and the time inside the dark spirit messed with her mind
@LD_92 actually, it's still up there for me if I scroll further down. I'm not surprised if I am catching flak for it, some people are really defensive of Spartan even though he's clearly got a thick skin for this kind of thing. Still, I don't think I said anything unreasonable. I know he likes both Korra and Asami as characters so I was surprised he viewed Mako's flippancy with the two of them in such a positive light.
@@saffronique Sparta is a proud and upstanding member of The Patriarchy. That's just how he rolls. It often makes for fun when his (self-confessed) Hero Boner conflicts with the story or the characters when they don't conform. Why do you think Sparta was so repulsed with Bolin's subservience to his Ice Princess GF? Bolin victim trapped in abusive relationship? Never heard that ever considered. No, he let the side down, he didn't Man Up. Sparta utterly reviled Bolin for that, his face contorted with disgust whenever that was playing out onscreen - that was kind of hilarious, I really thought he might actually throw up at one point! Talking of points, I've completely forgotten what mine was... so, um... have a nice day :)
General Iroh is Zuko's grandson. His mother is the current Firelord. If I remember correctly he said something like, "My grandfather and my mother always were on good terms with the Avatar. We could ask the Firelord for help." It's ambiguous but it implies one of them is the Firelord, and since he mentioned both and not just his grandfather, it's also implied that Zuko stepped down at some point and it's Iroh's mother who's the current Firelord. Back in Season 1 Iroh told Korra, "My grandfather always trusted the Avatar's instincts, so I will trust yours," which pretty much made it clear he's Zuko's grandson. And now we know he's called Iroh because Zuko had a daughter, so they didn't use his uncle's name for his son and it skipped a generation. They weren't about to not name a future Firelord after Iroh.
The fire nation people that found Korra on the shore were wearing fire sage uniforms, we saw them in the middle of of the first season of Avatar when Aang went to the fire temple to talk to Roku. Also, Korra used bending, which was shown to not be possible in the spirit realm in Avatar.
Pudgey you are usually spot on, but spartan’s got this one. She was swallowed, the spirit likely let her go or spit her out or simply dissipated as result of the injury from the fire blast.
8:30 maybe the way lins acting doesn’t bother me cuz I’m in the army, and that’s how all of you superiors talk to you😂 Genuinely tho, that’s just how jobs like that work when there’s a rank system in place. Lower enlisted or “rookie cops” don’t really get to just barge in and speak their mind. Mako was out of line even though he just wanted to help
lin is 100% right for being angry with mako, organisations like the police are not casual environments. There is an order to things, proper proceedures ought to be followed and properly documented. It may make the police a biit slower but it also can help prevent corruption and reckless decisions. The issue here isn't Lin or Mako, it's the two negligent detectives who improperly handled evidence Mako collected, summarily going 'northern water tribe did it'
@@captainslender12 for sure. But we all know those kinds of people exist and gain promotions in these organizations more than they should. I’ve got some stupid ass people in charge of me right now and it’s pretty frustrating lol, but most times I just have to take it

Sokka was funny but Bolin is just a clown. Also, Chief of Police Lin Beipong was just doing her job; Mako is a beat cop now, if he has information he has to take it to te Detective Dept, not just go over their heads and burst into a meeting unannounced. Beiphong was right to be annoyed, and when she's annoyed she makes it known - she's _always_ been like that, so she hasn't changed just because she's showing the Beiphong Belligerence!
I think she got eaten and spit out, or fought herself free - nevertheless didn't have enough energy to get back to any kind of land consciously. The biggest give away for now that she probably ISN'T in the spirit world is that she can bend. And as we know from ATLA, you cannot bend in the spirit world Spoiler down from here Yes, I do know there's a way to bend in the spirit world, but we haven't reached that point with the episodes yet, so I'm not pointing it out on purpose
IDK what it is about Spartan being absolutely anal about always being right and proving Pudgey wrong, like dude, chill, the superiority complex is so off-putting
This is not a spoiler. The spirit severed her memories when she was CONSUMED. It took her memories to the spirit world. She was eaten but after severing her memory it spit her back out. Act 2 of this season is solely based on spirits whereas the civil war was more of a catalyst.
Mako: I can't risk my job to help you save your country and family, Korra. Also Mako: Sure Asami, let me disobey my boss and actively plan to work with known criminals to save your company. Make sense. 🙄
In regards to Lin, I feel as though with her past things don't matter much in the moment. Think back when lin 1st met korra, she said the stuff with her mom in Aang didn't matter anymore. So season 1 was season 1 and it's got "didly squat to do with" season 2 😂
