there was a theory that explained the reason why zaheer knew so much about air bending is that the red lotus needed masters of the four elements and given that they couldnt possibly get an airbender, zaheer learned everything he could about air bending to become one of korras masters
@@DarthKay093 not to mention not a single air bender would have zaheer s ideology. That is linked to zaheer first dialogue in 3x01. He based his expectations on the dream of becoming an air bender and he eventually became one.
Zaheer does mention in ep 5 that he always admired the (Air Nomad) culture. There is also some popular fan speculation that he might have been an Air Acolyte previously, perhaps while Aang was still alive.
I think that's more conjecture based on nothing the show has indicated. Tenzin was already born way before korra (obviously) so he would have always been korras teacher. It's more likely he used Airbender techniques without airbending to do regular hand to hand combat. If he was positioned to teach the avatar they wouldn't have taught him to use his airbending as offensively and aggressively as he does Makes much more sense that he learned a hand to hand version on his own to try and complete kidnapping the avatar and those skills translated when he finally got bending
Spartan and pudgy sitting in a restaurant eating steak The steak turns into a cow and walks Pudgy: I had a feeling this would happen when we walked here
The darts they used were likely shirshu venom which was that starnosed mole creature the bounty hunter June used, we also saw the desert traders use them on appa when he tried to run away
I've been enjoying watching Spartan be the one for a change to go into a laughing fit the past couple of intros 🤣 They briefly mentioned in the last episode that the darts they used were "Shirshu" poison. That's the same poison they used on Appa when he was trying to escape his captors, and it comes from that animal we saw ATLA S1/S3 that has the long tongue and can track smell. It's mainly a paralytic, but can knock you out in high doses
Great reaction, Spartan & Pudgey! Honestly, I know there are better ones incoming, but this somehow has to be my favorite episode of this Book. Excellent direction and pacing, interesting lore dump in that tense discussion between Korra and Zaheer, lots of symbolism and references, quirky humor as usual, that amazing showdown at the inn and on top of that, a real banger of a score during the same showdown! The Red Lotus are indeed a very interesting take on anarchism as applied to the world of Avatar. Also, Unalaq being a (former) member of the Red Lotus actually ties in nicely as he likewise wanted to abolish nations and governments and turn back human society to a more simple, if chaotic, state, albeit ruled over by him as the Dark Avatar. You will _love_ the next ep, Spartan! It delivers but in a way that might shock you more than you thought. Long Live the Queen.
Certainly Zaheer is one of the lost cunning villains in Avatar universe, not to mention patient, among the others he was close to be successful 22:30 Guru Lahima is the name, do you about his poems?

Actually, Zaheer accepts the theory that chaos must come first to form a big change, and then comes order. In Ancient Greek, the word chaos originally means ‘sudden change’ (= catastrophe, καταστροφή, κατά + στροφή -> sudden change). I highly agree with his ideals, even if he is being portrayed as a villain. After anarchy is achieved without the need of other human leaders, humanity will begin anew with those who survived the chaos, (we might have been told about anarchy causing chaos, but we must also understand why anarchy causes it, it’s because anarchy is a primary core state of society that challenges and destroys the current state which is built upon its direct opposite and it is still being worked on after thousands of years of work. If something that has taken very strong roots finds a challenge, the challenge surely won’t be taken lightly and it will cause chaos. In modern terms, chaos is often tied to ‘destruction’, and destruction’s original term is the opposite of construction, which is to go against a built structure.) those will build a leaderless society and form order once again without the need of world leaders and they’ll achieve full freedom. That’s the belief and goal of Zaheer, but he tried to force it upon a world that is not ready to accept anarchy. Operating by anarchy, people also show their true colours because they don’t depend on or fear anyone, therefore they are not ashamed to hide their hearts. Not depending on world leaders doesn’t mean they need to act stupid and violent, but those who depend solely on world governments would operate exactly like that, just like with Ba Sing Se. The Earth Queen had imposed so many meaningless rules, such as not eating before she does, that people chose to obey out of fear for their own survival that they became broken and bound without thinking about the stupidity of those rules or even the wisdom behind helpful rules. All they’ve learned to do is obey and protection will be served. After Zaheer murders the Queen and the Earth Kingdom is left without the ruler, the broken men and women of society treated it as not knowing what to do because they were dependent on the Queen to give them rules. Eventually they became incompetent and showed their selfish true colours by spreading fire around. Those who are independent must already know the meaningful laws instead which are helpful for the human race and should do well without leaders, but those who simply obey the leaders’ rules out of fear without fully wanting to obey them or have understanding of them will act violently because they never understood the concept of having laws for the betterment of the human race. They appreciate abiding in rules above having wisdom to learn and understand. A murderer at heart for example might not murder people out of fear for being caught and put in jail and they may deceive even themselves that they don’t like murders, but once that leadership is gone then they will change behaviour and go on a killing spree because they hold a deep hidden belief in murder. But a human who understands at heart that murdering is foolish, one who puts wisdom above worshipping instructions without understanding them or the one who has put these instructions, won’t murder or cause “chaos” even without leaders’ supervision. Also, the theory that chaos must come to cause a massive shift, this is the last and most effective resort. If a society is built upon something that has taken a very strong root in people, it’s extremely difficult to dissipate. The stronger the root and the basis is of something, the harder it is for it to adapt to change. Since the society in Avatar has been used to human leadership since the days of Avatar Wan, then this principle must have taken extremely strong roots in almost all people (except for a select few who have detached themselves, just like Guru Laghima). Which means that just like with a tribe adopting a new political side for its base to be destroyed that it’s taken years upon years on building it, the same must be done for that society to be broken down and rebuilt using a different basis, which is anarchy in Zaheer’s case. The only natural and true type of leadership that also exists in nature is the familiar one with fathers and mothers teaching their children the path that they should go in, and when they become adults they go out on their own and become their own leaders until they lead future children. Society is built upon the idea of everybody in the world being a “big co-dependent family”.
This isnt anything close to what anarchy means in philosophy. A mixture of surface level googling and comic book movies isnt a substitute for actually reading philosophers.
