Hi Alan, good stuff. In my opinion video explaining how to stay focus will be very helpful. I play tennis and quite often during matches I find it difficult to stay focused.

Check out my video on concentration on RUclips. In sum, concentration is all about staying focused on what is important. As a tennis player, there are two things that are important: First, keeping your focus in the NOW on this shot, this point and this game, one at a time. Second, you want to make sure your focus is on what YOU are doing and not on what is going on across the net or in the stands or on the next court. And you train yourself to concentrate by coaching yourself each and every time you notice your focus has left the NOW or what YOU are doing, and then you want to quickly and gently bring your focus back.
What hurts athletes is when they lose their focus and don't bring themselves back right away. Another way to think about this is that you want to keep your focus "external" on the action, on "seeing, reading and reacting." Seeing the ball and in the background where your opponent is and their momentum/movement, instinctively reading what you should do and then simply reacting. This involves NO thinking and happens in a nanosecond.
What gets players into trouble is when they allow their focus to leave the action and what they are doing and go "inward" to their thinking. Your job is to be aware the instant that your focus goes to your thoughts and leaves what you're doing and the immediate shot you're setting up for and to then quickly "reset" and bring your focus back to this next shot.
This recognizing when you drift to your thoughts and immediately bringing your focus back to the point is a mental muscle that you can develop with practice!
