    SPOILER WARNING!!!
    I am watching all Star Wars in Chronological order; I have seen the Original Trilogy but nothing else beyond the Bad Batch so please be careful of spoilers in the comments.

      Did something happen or is this just a preemptive warning? Maybe a close call? If so, I hope you looked away in time and don't remember anything.
      For everyone else, we did know where certain stories were leading (like watching the prequels after the original trilogy), but it is really interesting to see theories and questions from the perspective of someone who doesn't already know where things are going. So I definitely hope nothing/nobody ever spoils you like that.

      @@ShizuruNakatsu I'm guessing it's just a precaution because this Season's still pretty new & hot so there might be a lot of new viewers jumping in unaware of the order he's watching things. But I really hope he hasn't been spoiled on too much either

    Fun Fact, the one clone kid that is older and sounds different from the others two is voiced by Daniel Logan.
    Daniel Logan is the kid who plays Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones. He also voiced Boba the few times he was seen in Clone Wars.

      Glad they brought him back, it makes sense to have a different voice for the different ages of the Clones and honestly his is pretty distinct now after all his stuff with Boba.

    Understandable the word for the mountain that is Hemlock's current research facility, Tantiss, gets used a lot. So one often forget that that is ONLY the name of the mountain. The PLANET that Mount Tantiss is located on however is named "Wayland". Wayland looks to be closest to Mandalore on the galactic map, however that is still probably hundreds if not thousands of light years away. Wayland with Mount Tantiss is located on the galactic map on grid square N-7, with Mandalore located on O-7 on the grid square next to it.

    One thing I found interesting was how the one kid says, "they must be 99s, defectives."
    I think that's probably a reference to the clone 99. Undoubtedly when he died defending Kamino, he probably got some fame out of it.
    So maybe all defective clones are collectively called, "99s" as a nickname or whatever. Idk, it was just a detail I thought was neat that nobody seems to be talking about.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад +1

      True, I hope 99's death had some kind of impact and he did have some meaning to the rest of the clones, even if it was just to signify if a clone was defective. Honestly, it's a badge of honour at this point to be called a 99 after what he did and from what we've seen 'defectives' achieve.

    That plant like thing was basically a plant version of a sarlac pit from the original trilogy that Luke and Han were going to get tossed into.

    • @benspiller

      True, Hemlock probably used it's DNA to make this thing.

    When Kamino was being cleared out, there was that one group of cadets wondering if they will still be soldiers one day.
    Now these ones are all that are left.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад +1

      Oh I remember those cadets 😢 It's honestly so cool that we got to see the effects of the Empire on younger Clones as I never really thought about them before this, the focus is always on the adult clones and never on the ones that were made and never got the chance to fight.

    Reason for the empire to develop weapons in times of peace: This is something that was hinted at in a few novels, but it has not yet been shown in any show or movie, so I'll be vague for if this might appear in the future I don't spoil anything:
    The Galaxy in Star Wars is only partially explored, because there are a lot of anomalies that make it hard to navigate to a certain region. In these unknown regions there is a threat that might one day become dangerous for the known Galaxy, so Palpatine might try to prepare many special weapons to defend his empire against this thread once it grows into the known galaxy ...

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад

      That honestly sounds so cool, never considered the idea of an external threat to what's happening within the known galaxy but the idea of Palpatine having to defend against an enemy he can't know anything about would be so difficult for him.

    Stak: "Slither wines, the Empire made it. It's some kind of experimental weapon."
    Ben: "Hemlock!"
    Just the tone of voice made me chuckle. Is like "Why of course, that HAS to be Hemlock. God dammit." XD

    My theory about whatever that plant monster thing might've been...It might've possibly been a Dianoga, same thing as what Grabbed Luke's leg in the garbage chute in episode 4, or what Grabbed Wrecker when Clone Force 99 went inside of an abandoned Venator to get their chips out of their heads. But then again, knowing Hemlock, he probably gave that Dianoga some growth hormones or what have you, and turned it into a truly terrifying monster that got SO out of control that the entire base had to be evacuated.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад +1

      There are so many similarities, Wouldn't be surprised if Hemlock did that or just merged together a bunch of DNA from a bunch of random monsters.

    The Durand Syndicate chose war, and the effects are somewhat predictable. The Pykes are in their prime, and after the destruction of the Death Star, the Empire will reduce its presence in the Outer Rim, which will further strengthen them.
    We won’t see the Durand Syndicate again, so the effect of killing or torturing one Pyke is most likely the end for that Syndicate.
    In my opinion, this creature is a mutated giant version of Rathtar. This creature looks very similar and even the way it hunts is quite similar.
    Alternatively, we might be dealing with a hybrid of several species. The fact that we see this creature suggests that Hemlock isn’t just interested in the Zillo Beast.
    One thing is certain: the result of these experiments turned that creature into a literal biological weapon that most likely got out of control.
    It's also worth noting the character development:
    Wrecker: He used to be the first to charge into a fight, always excited. Now, he advises caution and suggests waiting for Echo and Rex.
    Hunter: He is showing clear desperation, which isn’t a good trait for a leader. This indicates that he will indeed be looking for Omega, but it might blind him and lead him into unnecessary danger.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад

      Shame that's the last we see of the Durands, but makes sense with them picking a war with the Pykes 😂.
      This creature is so telling of Hemlock in so many ways, it goes to show he clearly doesn't care about life or the quality of life his experiments have and he's completely violated the laws of nature by crossing the line dividing plants and animals to make this abomination, makes it pretty clear why Palpatine chose him to cross the line between the Force and mortals.
      This episode did so much for the characters, how it's flipped Wrecker and Hunter's personalities with Wrecker being more cautious and Hunter being more impulsive and desperate shows what a clear impact losing Omega has had on them. Also, this episode felt like such a good grieving episode for tech, it really showed off the void present with only two of the Batch here and that void got embraced rather than ignored, these two alone can only do so much and it made it clear to the audience important tech was to the group and how big a role he actually filled.

    A lot of us don't give enough credit to Hunter. This is clearly the lowest and most desperate point of his life, so it makes sense that when he goes to the destroyed base, he's walking, but when he sees its been destroyed, he starts frantically running like a madman.

    I still think Tech might be alive even if it's "confirmed" that he's not. 😭
    I'm having a brain cramp. I don't know if the base that was destroyed by an orbital bombardment was shown before it was destroyed.
    Man, this galaxy is riddled with huge monsters. Why?! 😂

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад

      I would so love for Tech to be alive but definitely gotten into the mindset of him being gone after this 😢 Think they mentioned at the start that the Empire destroyed the base instead of showing it, I have no clue why this galaxy has so many monsters 😂😂 Seems like each episode another one pops up.

      @@benspiller I was thinking that the base was the one that Gregor was trapped at, the one where the intro showed a clone running through a forest, who we now know to be Gregor, and the Batch entered the base through the top, but I searched it up and the names of the planets aren't the same, so the base that was in this episode must never have been shown when it was still in use.
