This was a great breakdown. Somehow I didn't connect the flurry of mistakes at the end with nerves but it makes perfect sense.

wowwwwwww this analysis was incredible man, I've learned a few of these things by accident but having someone explain in detail why and when they do certain things is so much more helpful, like punk whiffing a button on purpose to whiff punish himself with divekick or the microwalking backwards after getting jabbed, such an incredible video, awesome work.

DUDE YOU FORGET to put in the recap the final match they have in the SFL when Xiao Hai made it count and after say he is not that good.
All the Punk's fan girl base still think that Punk wasn't the one that started the beef but there's evidence showing he's the master mind of the feature match between the two by popping off the TEABAGS in front of the camera then throwing into the audiences. Punk's BETA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL attendees need to STFU when their idol started this beef rivalry. Punk even pop off teabags on other players beside Xiaohai during 2017 SF5.

As a guy who got into fighting games through KOF, this beef has been very entertaining to watch so far. Id love to see Punk play Xioahai in KOF though
Hahaha punk wouldn't stand a chance, this is punk at his best in a game that he's mastered. Xiaohai is good at SF6 but a beast in kof15 yet beat punk at a game that's he's decent at

Punk is joke. What is his level in KOF??? Xiao Hai has the courage to enter the SF competition (even though he is a KOF player) and this is how he is received?? Punk has never had and will never have the results that Xiao Hai did and had in the KOF series. So a minimum of respect ! Whatever your level.

I know I'm just a different person because if I mocked someone for whiffing and then ever whiffed again in my life I'd feel stupid but punk stays confident. He also has no issue insulting someone who's the actual greatest at another series that punk is not even a whisper of relevant in, and also competes in sf, but again I'm using my thought processes rather than that of actual high level competitors.
Edit - there seemed to be some talk about drive rush cancel off light kick, but there were plenty of light kicks that connected and weren't canceled that idk that it was some sort of option select. But is there a bug or something?

Professor PUNK of Alpha Academy is apart of a slowly fading breed of player whom can only win if they talk shyte about someone and/or if another player starts that static. Without that, PUNK, while for the time being is certainly still elite, is simply a good player among the elite class. Hell, Xiao Hi won his 1st SFL w/ Bandits, PUNK was the GOD at SFL for a time on SFV, but those were the only bigs he was winning and it seems like forever ago for that! Anyway, great vid, keep it up!

That's all rob tv does . . . instigate, instigate, instigate. He'll purposely frame a question so you can talk about something negative then if you fall for the bait and say something bold in the moment he'll keep laughing.
Then if you ask him why do you put people in those positions he'll say two things. One, I'm an entertainer and beef is hype. Then he'll say, the people I played with when I was a player always talked trash to each other therefore you should go through it as well.
rob is all about himself he added fuel to the fire with Gustavo (801 Strider I believe) and punk even though punk is a bad sportsman as well but rob wanted a potential fight so he could then upload the content to his channel.
He only cares about himself and he'll push you down to accomplish it.

Was waiting to see the Xiohai pop-off on Punk after beating him in the SF League playoffs.
I like punk but its good to see him humbled sometimes.
He gets humbled all the time he never wins any major tournaments that carry any type of weight in the fgc. Punk popularity comes from the fgc hyping him up all the time not his wins

Both Xio Hai and Punk has been around fgc for about 16 years. They been playing since sf4 era.
Xio Hai only has 3 evo championships. he has 0 capcop cup
Punk has 01000 evo champianionship. Punk won ALL main Street Fighter evos since sf4 to sf6. Punk also won all capcom cup since sf4
That is why Punk is numba 1. and not nervous
Punk also qualified for EWC. And Xiao Hai's following match against Bonchan, he lost 3-0 without winning a single round. Dude got embarrassed so hard.
Even the best of the best are victims of nerves even more so because they always actively making decisions

xiao hai was playing king of fighter not streetfighter. the thin is he kept doing the same thing over and over again after every drive he would dp and whiffing lk. alongside not side swapping dp.t the last match it was over befor it even started. honestly like the punk vs Mena match up.

A lot of practice and even then he's dropped it multiple times
He kinda press st lk at whiff range meaning if it actually hits something it is a counter hit whiff punish and he will have +2 frame window to confirm it. It is still difficult af for common folks . It is just pros knowing how to use their reactions and game mechanics to extreme advantage.
That last game was tilted.
The problem with Punk is that he gets too aggressive and defensive too quickly. A simple and not insulting "are you nervous" got him so mad he decided to make this into a drama and rivalry lol. He could have just said he is not nervous after winning and that'd make a more gentleman and smarter comeback. Heck, XH probably didn't even mean much given his poor English in the first place lol. I guess Punk is not Punk if he didn't react the way he did.

Xiaohai has proven in the past that he is a top tier shoto player. He would consistently beat daigo’s evil Ryu in mirror matches. He’s also proven he can win at the highest level, being an evo champion in multiple games. Meanwhile punk’s legacy thus far has been to choke when it comes to first place finishes. I’m sure he will was just having fun with his taunting and he has a long career ahead of him, but as it stands, Xiaohai is a proven winner. He’s the one who has been to the top.

I think this video is actually in pretty poor taste. If Punk had beat Xiao again, like he's done in the past, the basis of this video doesn't even exist. Which means it's less about the rivalry (I appreciate a good one), and more about celebrating Punk's failure. Xiao has always been a good player, and regardless of Punk's opinions of him, he is good enough to beat any of those guys, and inversely, Punk can have an off-day like or get outplayed.
This video is casually using some grievance those two have with each other, to drum up interest for match analysis, and the analysis was fine. I'm an old school FG guy, and I miss the days of beef being settled on the sticks, but those days are kind of over. If you want to take your analysis seriously in the future, I'd avoid pretty drama like this.
So punk got nervous again after such a big lead. Why do they give punk such easy draws. Last time at Dallas he got easy draw same with this draw in Sweden. Seems like the TOS want him to qualify for ewc

In Dallas they pulled the same thing in pools. Put vxbao in his side of pools but vxbia never showed cuz he already qualified for ewc
End of day let’s face it the TOS want to have Americans in the ewc for viewership. They only had knuckledu and based on performance it was unlikely anyone from USA was gonna qualify with only two more tournaments remaining ceo (2 spots) lcq in Saudi (4 spots)
