@@maggiesbooksandstuff Yes I can't wait for that one! She also has another series called the 4 horseman I believe. I've also only heard good things about those!
Ok I have to know how Ledge is when you finish! It sounds amazing! I love a good fairytale retelling, especially one that’s a little bit more adult but not necessarily because of the spice. I’m behind in reviewing a few myself
I think Im gonna do a Feb wrap up and talk about it, but here is what I would say… Ledge is good, worth reading, especially since its her debut novel. She did a good job, but there was some stuff at the end that I was questioning, so Ill have to see what happens in the 2nd book 😎. As far as gore goes, its bloody, but not Quentin Tarantino bloody….so I was a wee bit bummed by that!
@@maggiesbooksandstuff I will definitely have to look into adding that to the tbr pile I promised to read before buying more, and already added too 😂 I think my favorite retelling of the year so far is Spellbound after Midnight by Jenna Collet. More romance than I generally like but it was just so different than anything I’ve ever read before. It’s a Cinderella retelling that ends up with her being the subject of a murder investigation in the first chapter or two.
@@maggiesbooksandstuff I hope you like it. It’s part of a series. I just downloaded the second, they’re on KU, and it’s Red Riding Hood’s story. I hope she gets to live through it😂
Your brave buying so many self-pub fantasy romance books, I usually read them on KU then buy a physical copy of the ones I love, self pub books are expensive
Lol yeah I know! I have a thing for the covers though. I like to display them like art even if they arent good. I’ve only made a small dent so far, but there has only been 1 that I DNF’d. the rest have been 3 and above thank god!

You know... I think making a video to talk about why you DNFed a book, even without finishing it, can be just as valid as talking about why you didn't like it after finishing it; if that's something you really want to do. I don't think there should be anything wrong with that, as long as you're honest and up-front that it was a DNF-but maybe that's just me. 🙂
Honestly yeah, the book has no appeal anymore, but I guess I feel guilty. Mostly in regards to if I am going to dedicate a video to it, then I should give it a fighting a chance...idk. I know that I am going to rail into that book, so I guess it makes me feel less guilty if I read the whole thing. If I don't do a video, then I literally have no problem DNF'ing a book. I don't think there is anything wrong with a book being DNF'd.
@@maggiesbooksandstuff That's totally fair-either way. 🙂 I guess you've gotta do whatever you can personally rest easy with, yourself. I just wanted to let you know that I, at the least, think it's totally okay if you want to let yourself off the hook a little bit and still talk about what you want to talk about, even if you don't ever finish the book, and I don't personally think you should have any obligation to feel guilty about that or anything. But I totally get that sometimes feeling a little bit badly about things isn't always completely rational or logical like that, and that's okay too-we're all only human, and just because we didn't like something and want to talk about that fact it doesn't always mean we have to actually want to just completely write-off or destroy anyone who felt differently about it than we did &/or whoever was responsible for the thing we didn't like or whatever, and that's not a bad thing either. Lol If you finish it before talking about it, I can wholeheartedly respect that. But if you don't finish it, and you still make a video talking about it anyway, I can absolutely respect that too and I for one wouldn't judge you for doing that; for whatever it may or may not be worth. 🤍 But maybe that's just me! Definitely NOT trying to say that you should absolutely definitely put a video out about it without even finishing it just on my say-so.😊
