After seeing this video on the Rice Stitch, I have designed a 22" dishtowel that I'm calling "Roses and Rice" and will be giving as a bridal shower gift later this year. The design is five 4" blocks, alternating Rose Stitch blocks and Rice Stitch blocks. I've knitted the first 4" block of Rose Stitch, and I'm a couple of inches into the first 4" block of Rice Stitch. The idea is roses from the bride's bouquet and the old tradition of throwing rice at the newlyweds. The combination is looking nice.
