Exact same reasons I chose Virtus out of the lot. Slavia is exact same car, and I wanted to buy that but the bigger infotainment system shifted my preference towards Virtus.
Very straightforward opinion. Some of the finer points and attention to details are appreciated. Keep going. Don't stop😊👍. I really liked this review .
In the entire video you hardly mentioned the best thing of this car, the performance and riding quality which is why the VW and Škoda lovers buy these cars, I think you are more inclined towards the features and coming from the Korean brand that’s understandable 😄 the 1.0 of virtus and slavia are way better than any it’s 1.5 liter rivals but you made a good decision to buy this car
Just test drive the Honda City and revv it till 7.2k rpm. 0-100 kmph in 9.5 secs. Most comfortable, spacious and reliable car under 16 lakhs. 5 star crash test rating with 980 mPa UHSS steel. Also comes with ADAS from the second base variant. The cheapest car in India to come equipped with accurate camera-based ADAS. Performance oriented NA VTEC engine (best in class 121 ps) with GDI when coupled with manual transmission with good enough driving dynamics, which can be improved by a set of wider tyres. Best looking too (Virtus/Slavia looks ungainly ugly from their side/back profile due to their oddly raised ground clearance). Need I say more? By far the best car under 18 lakhs on road. Once you get a Honda, your opinion towards these budget german cars will definitely change. It's no more that German quality VW was known for in India. (Talking about the VW 2.0 based cars). Octavia, Superb, Jetta, Passat and Touareg were on an another level, but these Virtus/Slavia and Taigun/Kushaq are compromised products and not at all value for money. For the price of 1.5 TSI cars, one can get a Honda City Hybrid with much more tech and superior Japanese engineering with acceptable performance.
Honda City? Honda is even not consistent with its design, changing it every month. 5th Gen back side is totally copied from BMW and front side totally different...

You got good knowlwdge reg: cars One must be well aware about the roads conditions in a sedan. ie seeing the undulations itself one should get a idea whether it scratch belly or not. If not sure, slightly crawl forward and check you could hear the scraping sound(A/c off) if so back off and go diagonally. Don't bother about behind traffic, u can lit hazard, and they don't mind. Roll the tire over the highest hump so that it won't hit the vital parts like suspension lower parts/CV/lower control arms etc ,All cars got a plastic skit plate under oil pan which is at exact center of tires, If it was metal it would be much better in hearing sound, so that we can either back off or change direction. If its a valley kind of dump wider than car, you can go diagonally exactly through its center. So far we are sitting inside the car, if you get outside you ll get a better picture. Its always safe to even park any car over a hidden bushy area after inspection, coz even a small tiny nail or sharp objects can spoil ur day. In off-roading a short wheelbase car is always better coz of its less breakover angle, ie one of the plus of Suzuki alto in mountains. But if you take a long wheelbase car diagonally (if there is width) it won't hit belly. So what matters most is skill & knowledge reg the working of ur machine. Another eg: in on road is, if the flyover is turning around the expansion joints won't be exactly transverse(right left) to car, resulting one tire reach/ hit the joint earlier than the other resulting an uneven bouncing (right to left or vice) of the car. If the speed is higher it ll be too uncomfortable movement. When the tire approach the undulations at same time, its all good. I think Polo got a plastic oil pan, ie very cautious, don't know reg: other VW's Other checklists are 2 cooling fans, turbo should hav intercooler, timing chain is better than belt, air intake position is better if higher. GDI is less reliable than PFI coz of carbon depositing inside cylinder AWA intake valves. Blow by(fuel diluting oil) is serious in petrol's than Diesels coz Diesel have lubricating property, not with petrol, its a solvent. VW 15k service interval is ok for Diesels coz its heavily built than petrol's, it got more oil than petrol, it's running temperature is less than petrol. servicing a GDI turbo car should not exceed than 7k. Octane fuel matters for GDI engines. ABS sensor is VW's weakness, especially in rainy days. I can go, on an on... For me, as a petrolhead under 20 lakhs only got two brands, either Honda or VW, Suzuki only swift get a better steering ! b/w 2 brands everything is upside down, ie the priority checklists of Honda is - Engine > Transmission(manual best, gearbox & light clutch) > steering (support till 120kmph)> Chassis/interior. VW is exactly opposite. A typical VW user can't switch to other brands coz he won't get the cabin/chassis feel good factor in other brands. More you stiffen the chassis, insulate / damping the interior it gives better noise insulation and safety(after collision), but reduce the fuel efficiency, Cylinder deactivation is the remedy. Due to increasing weight, that affects performance too, ie why VW cars are mostly turbos. Another unrecognized factor is breaking. More u add weight more is the breaking distance its simple physics ! ie why most VW cars got wider stock tires than rest. Breaking is a safety before collision ! Ha yes todays advanced features like ABS, EBD saves u from most armature breaking scenarios. A light weight Honda is best in zigzag hilly roads, VW is best in arrow straight highways A GDI turbo can run till 1.5 lakh km, A PFI NA can go double Turbos are over square(U can't do anything for top end power) & NA's are under square (U can downshift for low end torque) Worlds best petrol engines are from Honda and best Diesels are from Mercedes Benz If we throw a Japanese engine & Gearbox into a European chassis/car, its ultimate !!
It seems Honda will anytime declare good bye to India ! VW n Skoda are the future of indian automobile. Surely their market share is going to increase soon.

is the break noise issue and AC issue that you complained in Slavia, rectified in Virtus? And is the break noise and AC a real issue that you experienced or just something that you heard from others?
Buddy plz check once verna and Virtus back to back there's a serious space issue in verna. I'm 6ft and my brother is 6"1 and we sit so comfortably back to back which is not the same case in verna when we took the test drive of Verna 👍

In real life experience, the marginally higher (14mm) ground clearance is not much of use for Indian road conditions.. Of you're worried abt scraping the underbelly, you must opt for SUV.. 190mm gc is minimum. A little compromise on ride quality bcz of higher gc is well worth trading for .
