I test drove both and bought a Virtus GT. On my way to become an avg german schooler. Driving dynamics - I didn't know what that mean until I drove the Virtus.

Good comparison, Some points missed to highlight as per me is 1. Cylinder de-activation in Virtus which is a boon for the people who are light foot and need more mileage, 2. Headrest for all passengers in rear seat.
Fair point but Verna is still more fuel efficient in real world usage. Headrest for the third passenger would have been a good decision for Hyundai, considering Verna is more spacious and comfortable in the reaseats.
@@Dietpanda Not at all. Because if the body shell is unstable, then indirectly it means the car cannot withstand or the car will not perform well in terms of safety if any major accidents happen in the real world conditions at above 64km/h speed (crash test will happen at 64km/h speed).
@@Dietpanda If that wete true, we can't consider Tiago, XUV 500, Honda City, Kiger triber etc as safe vehicles as well because they also scored unstable Bodyshell integrity. In reality it doesn't make much difference, see the accident berween Tiago (unstable) and nexon (stable). Inspite of ratings and weight difference both had the same amount of damage.
I have taken Verna , and the service center of Hyundai is mind blowing.. big story short… they just listen to you and you till your are not satisfied, and at the end it’s a delight 😊
You forgot ACT on VW turbo 4 cylinder engines.. improves mileage by 20-30% at all times.. then verna.. someone buying a 20lakh car or even 30 lakh car cares for mileage after some time like driving for about 2-3 months.. then verna turbo becomes expensive to run..

@@bunnu9872 well people who think that someone spending 20 lakhs doesn't care about money.. an office frined of mine went for hycross hybrid for Rs 32 lakhs.. he liked XUV 700 .. but hycross is petrol so lasts for 15 years and gives mileage of around 18 .. so went for it.. for the same reason that car is selling.. i bought that 20 lakh car on emi.. then give home eimi.. still i save 50% of my montly salary.. still i care for mileage.. had budget for hycross hybrid too but waiting period was like 1 year.. and got this one in 2 months.. now i am more happy as i saved around 12 lakhs for not waiting.. that money i invested in stocks and made 50% of returns in stock market in a year.. now i have a 150 bhp car with 250 nm torque which gives me power and mileage.. it's just to make money you need money.. not like spend 20 lakhs because you have money.. there are bigger things then car in this world..

I think verna overall is a better product, I'm a VW lover but the current VW cars don't have that polo/vento charm like it used to have. Verna is cheaper and have more features and is safe too, the only downside is the soft suspension which makes car unstable at high speed and the exterior design is not up to my taste.

Verna is all good in features, but they have plainly missed a safety feature of giving headrest to the rear middle occupant. This is something that they shouldn't have done if they have marketed it as a premium sedan. Btw, I own Skoda Slavia (2022), and for me, the head rest on rear middle occupant with 3 point seat belt was a major consideration.
@@gtsuryateja3905 Go compare the sale numbers again you are not properly informed. Till date Verna has less sales in only one month. All other monthly sales of Verna are higher even in 2024. Also Hyundai sells over 2000 verna every month, you can't say the same for Virtus.
An interesting take on the comparison of cars, and a welcome change! Loved it. Would like to see more of this alongside the usual comparisons and maha comparisons. A subtle background music during the conversations might help to keep the attention glued, just like in movies (spclly with the short attention span audience)
Hello @motoroctane - Glad you guys are coming up with good videos. Now that you guys are growing, rather than pointing out what’s in the manual. Call a spade a spade. Call out challenges in owning a car, call out the glitches in the car. Give a 360 degree about a car. We all know Skoda services are a challenge. When big channels like you call it out, they may take some measures to improve. We all love Skoda but we avoid, bcoz of poor after sales. We know 2.0 products aren’t mature, they have lot of issues faced by consumers. What’s the average part cost and time to get a Sevice done in case of an untoward incident etc.. Speak about cost of ownership. Maintenance costs, part costs, hidden agenda in warranty etc..
Driving dynamics are fine, it's not a stark difference but honestly I'm not looking to drag it out, verna seems more sensible specially the 1.5 NA with white interiors. Drive comfortably listen to good music and save a ton of money

As a ford fiesta owner and time for it to call off and I never wanted to venture into SUV block. I was in a grave situation to select among the only Sedans. TBH, I loved Virtus with all its premium looks and feel but ended up taking Verna SX IVT. Virtus is no doubt a like to like match for Verna but I had to restrict on my budget and after sales service of VW (IMO, which are quite expensive) kept me away. Overall, I am happy with my purchase but deep down I still feel Fiesta should have longed more.

As as vw fan i should say that Hyundai has done a good job with verna... especially side rear end view of Verna resembles porche...and the bonet looks sleek like class D segments..front lights of virtus is good than verna ... But rear end of virtus is jacked up and doesn't look as good as verna.... This is my personal opinion...both cars are good in their own ways...

The only reason i would consider hyundai is because of reliability, because german cars are expensive when it comes to repairs and i dont want to spend that much repair cost for a car of this segment imo. Dont get me wrong, i love the virtus design and the performance it offers, it is a great car for enthusiasts myself included, but its expensive to maintain, and a buyer of this price segemnt having to spend lakhs on a gearbox, is impractical imo. But it is great to see the slavia, virtus and verna refreshing the sedan market!!

This is a good video and quite helpful. But can you make something practical and how do these cars perform on day to day use rather than just blasting on the highway ?
Verna 1.5 turbo DCT SX(O) is much more value for money than Creta 1.5 turbo DCT SX(O) or Seltos 1.5 turbo DCT GTX+, which feel way overpriced, especially Creta in this engine and transmission option.
Both cars are good, but as the verna (facelift) is launched after the VW virtus, it got to have more power and features in order to get value in market. Simple....
It's a very simple verdict - Those who love fun to drive car, safety with good driving dynamics goes for Skoda VW. Those who are obsessed with features go for Korean Japanese ! No need to convince each other 😂😂😂

Verna 1.5 turbo DCT SX(O) is much more value for money than Creta 1.5 turbo DCT SX(O) or Seltos 1.5 turbo DCT GTX+, which feel way overpriced, especially Creta in this engine and transmission option.
