I started as a E-1 so it’s possible! And you can do it too! CS isn’t a bad rate, it’s just real time consuming they spend a lot of time on the ship but if you love cooking and meal prep you’ll enjoy it very much! Goodluck 🙏🏾
Do you know anything about QMs -Quartermasters ? Like what types of ships they get stationed on ? Is it a good rate ? I just picked this when I swore in at meps last month !
That’s a good rate! Their advancement is pretty good too, great choice! I have a couple of friends who are QMs and they don’t complain too much about the rate, they do stand a lot of watches when they’re out to sea but when they’re in port it isn’t too bad. I think overall it’s a good pick and good luck at boot camp! 🙏🏾

chianara HM is a great rate! Most of them aren’t on ships so you’ll probably go to a shore duty command first, there is a lot of people in that rate so the quota isn’t the best but if you study and work hard you can make rank!
Me personally I never been on a sub, so I couldn’t tell you much about them compared to ships except your submerged underwater most of the time on a sub.
I had someone ask me about female problems & I didn’t know. So say like someone is on a ship and you somehow get an infection down there, what can you do about it since you’re on a ship ? Are there doctors on there that will help ?
It’s about your rate but they throw in different questions that doesn’t pertain to your rate either, best bet is to study your hardest and hopefully you’ll advance but that depends on quota, so there’s only a certain amount of people they can promote each cycle so even if you do pass, you may not rank up. It really just depends.
Brandon McClures that’s a supply rate, they basically run the ship stores and stock up everything, it’s pretty easy but their advancement is a lot harder because they have so many people in that rate.
Trevon Wiggins I do know 2 who I have met while at my present command and my previous, they were both very nice people! As a IT I know they do a lot of computer type of work like fixing them and stuff like that but that’s all I know unfortunately but I will find out more information and make a video about as many individual rates in the navy that I can 😌
