My Vagus nerve was pinched for 15 years!
It was from an injury that I experienced during SeAL training, BUD/S.
Doctors checked for stomach cancer, ulcer, Guardia. Finally just told me i had anxiety.
    Gave me amitriptyline.
Deadens the nerves and frontal lobe.
Finally stumbled into a chiropractor's office.
Took an x-ray and popped my top vertebrae back in place and i was cured. Although i still have to continually adjust it myself seveal times a day.
I suffered terribly for about 15 years.
    30 different symptoms!
Bad. I lost 15 years of my life and my family's lives also.
    -Feelings of impending doom
    -seeing stars
    -passing out
    -can't think straight
    -whole torso in a spasm
    -pasty white and sweating
    -exhausted
    -feelings of shock trauma
-can't sleep for more than 2 hrs.
    -eating tons of junk food
    -dispare
-100% preoccupied with the question of: What is wrong with me?
-could barely make it though the day
-eating atomic fireball candy constantly and monster energy drinks
-drinking kiefer and aloe vera all day.
    -eating big macs yuck.
Had to! So much acid in my stomach.
-not motivated to do anything beyond bare min.
-moved from job to job even though employer wanted me to stay and offed more $. Just couldn't get through the days! So consequently barely had enough money to support my family.
-honestly thought i would die sooner than later.
-trips to bathroom were not fun. Then would faint afterwards
-got skinny limbs and fat gut
-my run times went from sub 6 minute miles to 9 minute miles.
-was just pushing my mind and body through each day.
-MY HEALTH ALL AROUND WAS DETERIORATING.
    IT WAS REALLY BAD!!
    Mentally and physically.

Yep that chiropractor screwed me up. He convinced me to let him jump on my neck after nagging me for a week. Finally let him and could not walk next morning. Lost a little bit of muscle in right thigh from it.
      Ripped a nerve.
      I almost beat him up.
      I hate doctors and dentists.
They have screwed me and my family up many times.
That is why i learned to adjust my neck myself.

I learned about the vagus nerve when I had what I was told was bursitis.. at its worst I felt a sharp pain run from my mid abs to my left shoulder blade when I inhaled... I had to breathe shallow not to trigger the pain... I realized that there was a nerve connecting my diaphragm to my shoulder... it was a weird thing... I went to a acupuncturist named Dr Park, he was Korean, in Cambridge Mass. He put needles in the space between my last two toes and told me to inhale deeply... Amazingly there was no pain at all... I lay there for about 20 minutes like that and then he took them out... From that point on the pain faded away .... I found that totally fascinating... Ancient wisdom is the best.
incidentally I was working a job where I sat hunched in front of a screen for a long time... also in school I sat a lot... somehow I think the vagus nerve was pinched or something from sitting so long... or maybe my hunched posture... either way I thankfully work outdoors in the sun now..

The Vagus nerve is the 10th cranial nerve, and arises bilaterally from the medulla oblongata of the brain stem. It is by far the longest cranial nerve and has both afferent and efferent nerve cells.

many of the vagus problems disappear as soon as people get chiropractic treatments of the neck .specially the upper cervical vertebrae ( s) this 10th cranial nerve get out of the cranial bone at the level of the 1st cervical vertebra just in front of it ( and behind the ear on each side R and L ) if that vertebra moves it will exert pressure on it and disturb its function .as soon as you move the 1st cervical away from it you get the effects and you can see visually the influence : their cheeks ( on their face ) become rose pink !!! I use to show them this effect with a mirror !!! ( as a US Doctor of Chiropractic ).

      @Ty_Brenneman 7 лет назад +11

Suzette McFarland dr amen has shown that under active prefrontal cortex causes the impulsivity and lack of evolved thinking that characterizes the psychopath (like POTUS). The maker of the zone diet has shown that a lack omega 3 fats allow toxic omega 6 fat bi-products to lodge in the brain and cause all the mental problems we see in ADD kids, autism, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and stroke. So we'd have to fix a broken PFC, stimulate the empathy circuit, and overhaul the diet of the psychopath just to *maybe* rehabilitate him 2%...there are also other parts of the brain in the narcissist that prohibit him from considering the needs of others or to shift focus from themselves to others. Basically, the psychopath and narcissist are untreatable. Therapists refuse to see them and true mystics say their aura look like diarrhea...it's a pact with the universe for them to be disorders and manipulative. It's their bad karma

@@Eyes0penNoFear well it helped but not solved completely. What is helping me greatly now is fighting H. Pylori: from one side I'm forcing me to breathe through the nose 24h a day (look for nasal breathing on youtube), from the other I'm taking black seed oil (cumin) and mastic gum (not pills, but the real "tears" from Greece) to fight directly the bacteria. Now I reduced the frequency of the seizures to one every 40/50 days. Most of all brain is functioning properly, no aurea anymore, no brain fog, not that feeling of making a double effort to stay focus. So, ok magnesium, but I suggest you, nasal breathing and test for helicobacter pylori.

My moms friend is 87 years old. His doctor told him that his Vagus Nerve is causing him to faint all the time. This man has low blood pressure and takes pills to raise it (quite a turn for medication). Sometimes when he is out with friends he just faints!!! He use to be healthier in his younger years. He use to run. My mom tells me that he likes to eat exotic foods. He loves cavier and has it for breakfast. I never heard of anything like this when it comes to him fainting. Neuropathy of the vagus nerve is a huge issue for people with diabetes. Gastroparesis or late stomach emptying caused by neuropathy of the vagus nerve can prove to be an even more difficult issue for people with diabetes who need to take insulin. Your Rx calls for you to take your insulin ten minutes before eating a meal. The doctor writes that prescription so that the exogenous insulin enters your blood stream approximately the same time as the glucose from your meal. However, for a person with gastroparesis his/her stomach may not empty for hours after a meal. The insulin they injected however does work...and without that meal and it's ensuing glucose in the system, the injected insulin causes that person to go into hypoglycemia or low blood sugar. They could at the worst easily pass out or go into a coma and at least they would feel shaky, sweaty, light headed, etc.
The vagus nerve is an exciting part of the nervous system. It travels the length and breathe of our bodies. In anxious people, the vagus nerve is over-excited and at the slightest provocation, the adrenal glands secrete more and more adrenalin and the vagus nerve synapsis provide the chemical and electrical stimulation to the heart (ergo fluttering and/or rapid heart beat), lungs (shortness of breath), stomach (nausea and a feeling like some one just kicked your gut), etc.
I love Dachtner Keltner. His lectures are clear, concise and extremely informative.

    • @sundryonline9589
      @sundryonline9589 4 года назад

@maria ekman Look into the species specific diet for humans, we are supposed to eat ONLY raw food that grows naturally, if you are eating other foods they can go through your system too slow and then you'll get diagnoses with something like gastroparesis because the doctors dont understand. Please look into raw food diet, it's how we are supposed to live and most of these diseases and problems we have could be solved with a simple diet change.
