    Congratulations on actually slowing down and showing the order of the parts, my kit didn't have a diagram and the part that goes in the front (the nub faces into and connects to the brass, to regulate when turning the pressure knob on the front). You are the only one that clearly demonstrated this out of 4 videos... Kudos & Thanks🙂

    Nice Video - The large O-ring shown at the 4:31 sec. mark is the same place where I put mine but, there is another Y-tube that shows it goes in before the place piston part. That O-ring is too big for there so I believe you have the right location. My compressor does not leak anymore. Take care!

    Great video, that brass valve piece I had been trying to pull it out from the front with no luck and I didn’t want to damage it so I left it until I came across your video. I got the parts removed and received my new parts today. Will be putting it all back together later today. Thanks!

      Absolutely; I’m glad it helped! They’re good compressors even with this Achilles’ heel; good that you’re able to get some more life out of yours.

    Thanks I'll be doing this as soon as the part comes in from Amazon. Was trying to figure out if the whole manifold needed to be replaced or not and this seems like it should fix me up!

    Very helpful video. The proper Torx size is T10 and not T15. A 17mm open wrench can be used instead of the Allen wrench to remove the back piece. I found it easier as the rubber hose won't interfere.

    0:55 how do you knew that the regulator was the problem?

    I've found several porta cable pancake air compressors with a do not use after certain date what the recommended life span of these compressors

      I don’t know what it is. And if I was going to speculate on what that expiration date is all about out, I’d guess it’s about the tank’s ability to stay sealed. I think about refillable propane tanks for barbecuing; they have an expiration date, beyond which you can’t get them refilled. All speculation though

    What are the symptoms of this type of break that requires this repair?

      Full tank of air, pressure on the gauge, but nothing coming out the hose

      I’m sorry but I do not know. I’m willing to bet the part numbers have changed, though; so maybe try with that?

    My old PC 6 gallon 150 psi pancake compressor was purchased in 2008, can't find the model or type # anywhere and was almost ready to replace the manifold assembly. Mine leaks air constantly now around the pressure knob and only stops when I turn it all the up, after watching this I will take it apart and inspect the valve assembly and order the repair kit. Thanks

    The problem with mine is the little motor, I think, it makes a weird noise like it does not has the power need it to operate.
    Any thoughts on that?

      That’s possible. Maybe the compressor piston is starting to wear out…? I don’t know what the lifespan on these compressors is, but they’re all getting pretty old at this point

      Absolutely. If it’s been running for a while, mine is too hot to touch

    • @TheSickestNick
      @TheSickestNick  2 года назад

      I don't know. The two compressors are very similar, but the regulators are different. They might be similar on the inside but that's a gamble you'll have to take your self

    • @TheSickestNick
      @TheSickestNick  Год назад

      Is one of your valves leaking? Like does it have trouble getting up to pressure because of an air leak somewhere? Or does it go way over pressure bc it doesn’t stop running?

    We need someone to design a 3D print file for that plastic piece.

      @@TheSickestNick Seriously, you can figure out a 3d print at the library (mine you can do for $2), and if that is right, there are companies where they will 3D print in what ever material you want. I'd buy one. :-) I did that for those center pull paper towel dispenser when they put the old out of date and wanted me to switch all mine out, even though they all worked fine, but no key. :-/
