I am loving mine. I love having the ability to turn the smaller inputs "up". I generally run a lighter FFB (I like my racecars with power steering lol), and with my logitech that meant feeling nothing at all. The T598 allows both "power steering" and road feel at the same time- total game changer for me.
Gonna check out rennsport now lol
I have now completed my first weekend with the T598 and what can I say; I love it.
I have set the recommended setting for base and steering wheel from TM. You notice the increase in the wheelbase when you drive powerful cars. The more powerful the cars, the better the feedback from the base. And in acc I used the settings like in gt7 and it's brutally strong with the lambo, unbelievable.
In my opinion, GT7 still has some potential for improvement. But acc is fierce.
Absolutely recommended to buy.
Hell yeah brother thanks for the feedback on the T598. And you are absolutely correct in the correlation between cars
What settings are you using for ACC
@ • Mode 1 Blue
• FFB 3
• Master Gain: 100 %
• Mode: E
• Friction: OFF
• Boost Low: +2
• Boost High: +2
• Speed: EXT
• Damper: 0 %
• Spring: AUTO
• Gear Jolt: HIGH
• End Stop: HIGH
This is the setting that TM recommends for GT7 or generally and I did not changed it for ACC.
Floor space with the Stand 2.0 can actually take up more than a profile rig. I have the 2.0 with an office chair (I love it) but I have a ASR 6 on order which is 50” long, but my 2.0 + chair is more like 55-56”. That said when you pull the chair away it’s a diff story since it’s two pieces, so that might suit some spaces better.
I love my T598.
Meeeeed Tooooooo!
Had a weekend with my T598 and had the TGT 2 belt driven before…I’m absolutely loving the T598 on F124 and EA WRC….GT7 still need some setting up but I’m getting there keep up the great content frogboy 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing that's awesome I absolutely love it on EA Sports WRC
Can you show me your setup of the base for F1 24? I am waiting for my t598 will be i think end of this week on my hands also i have sf1000 and tlcm
@@januszkrzyzol7551

This works for me got the same pedals and wheel just make sure you have your quick release adaptor too
Enjoy and happy racing
@@ChrisBooth-mn2wj thanks man! Got mine today, and after update 2.07 when I plug the base to ps5 the wheel doesn't calibrate byself like t300🙄on game wheel is not Good calibrate and I feel FF on the straight but slow corners is lover than t300🙄🙄🙄
Chris how the base shows in f1 24 in game? My shows still TGT 2 🙄ps5 nothing about t598🙄
So if I’m on a TGTII is definitely worth upgrading? I’m so tempted to buy it
Cheers
Yes Absolutely but remember it's going to feel a lot different than you expect at first but once you get used to it it will be so much better
@ ok I will keep that in mind for sure, appreciate the quick response. I also like the idea of the changing the spring on the TLC brake pedal looks interesting. Keep up the good stuff man 👌
@ckframes absolutely my friend happy racing
Loving my t598 with the insignia wheel stand. The stand isn’t my favorite but $100 is hard to beat
It's better than a desk my friend.
With the amount of flex in that wheel stand, would'nt it be a better solution to make your own of wood?
The t598 is a beast 💪
Absolutely it is. The last Firmware really helped it a lot.
I have a stand similar to that but it was a cheap no name from like 5 years ago. I had to cut some wood blanks to clamp the t598 to it since the screws didnt line up.
Also, im having a frustrating time getting the base to update to the 2.x version. It updated to 1.98 just fine a couple weeks ago, but now wont recognize the base in boot mode. Ill work with customer support today probably.
Make sure you download the app from the Microsoft store because the beta app no longer works then hold down the settings button and L3 till till the update completes
@frogboyx1Gaming yeah I've been trying everything. The issue is that when holding L3 and Settings and powering on, it doesn't connect. Doesn't even show up in device manager. Almost as if the boot mode is busted for me. Not sure why. I have a ticket in with them.
@Korrik7 okay let me know how it goes
@@frogboyx1Gaming Finally figured it out. I work in IT professionally, so I can't rest until I figure stuff out haha. Anyway, this is what I found.
Holding the L3 and Settings and turning off and back on the hub multiple times until it showed up in Device manager under "sound, video and game controllers" section. Then I went to the manual updater in program files after installing the driver manually from thrustmaster website. Pain in the neck, but it worked.
@Korrik7 hell yeah brother i am glad you figured it out
I’m waiting to see what the price for the base by itself is. I have the Ferrari 599xx Evo wheel and T-LCMs so only need the base. But, am curious what the pedal set with a load cell would be like.
I have two rigs, one with PC, triples and Fanatec DD+, one for PS5/VR with a T300. My dilemma is, do I go for the T598 and Hypercar wheel (and Ferrari 599xx) and leave the DD+ on the triple rig, or stay with T300 until I can afford a Simagic Alpha U for the triple rig and move the DD+ over. I can’t go T598 unless I plan to stick with it for 2-3 years. If I wait for Simagic I’d be looking at Black Friday sales for 2025. If I go T598 I need to wait for Black Friday sales in 2026 at earliest.
Not sure which way to go. It’s like the PS5 Pro. Yeah, it’s a little better, is it $520 better? (If I trade in regular PS5 at GameStop). Think I’d rather have the T598 upgrade over PS5 Pro upgrade.
I built both rigs this year (reusing T300 from Playseat) so I’ve spent several years budget and want my wife to relax. But also want one more round of upgrades. 😂😂. The life of a sim racer (and sim truck driver).
The T598 base will most likely be 399.99 minimum in early 2025
❤my t598
Meeeeee Tooooooo!
Sounds like this is a GREAT wheel for the PC, and a AVG to GOOD wheel on Playstation.
That is a fair assessment but it's like that with all wheels
@frogboyx1Gaming Ive found my mates Fanatec 8nm on console to be utterly brilliant
how good is the hypercar rim for GT7 in terms of the buttons? I have the standard T598 wheel and only play GT7 in VR, so i have to use it blind which is not so good, especially the buttons to change TC, brake balance etc.
The Hypercar wheel is very good really easy to get used to I can do a video showcase later today on it.
Any tips for the pedals on hardwood floor mind keep flipping over even on a rug with the grippers I am getting a rig sorted soon
Screw them to the floor.
Would you recommend it if someone (me) has a tgt2. Only gt7 as I don’t have a pc only a ps5
Yes absolutely but just be aware that it will take a while for you to retrain yourself on how the FFB feels but once that happens you will be really happy you switched.
Hello does it fit form Playseat challenge? Thank you.
Yes
@@frogboyx1Gaming Thank you. 🙂
Dose it work for manual cars because it dosent have a clutch
It doesn’t have a clutch pedal.
This or the fanatec csl dd woth mclaren wheel?
Either would be fine honestly i like both
Fanatec dd 8nm ffb feels lot stronger Than t598
I’m having issues with the wheel rotation on GT7. I’m unable to get up to 900 wheel rotation. The base says it’s on 1080 but the game only registers 540. Are you having the same problem?
shouldn't that be car dependent
@@awakeandwatching953 im not sure as I was testing in the calibration settings in main menu. But I was thrown off because the base is saying 1 number and the game is saying another.
On the base you need to go to the settings for the wheel to change the rotation
@@frogboyx1Gamingyes I’ve done that however, it doesn’t match up with what the in game calibration is saying.
For example I’ve turned the base to the maximum which is 1080 but the game displays 540
Would i be able to update the firmware with my mac book pro
Not sure my friend.
How is the weight changes in GT7 FFB when suspension loads/unloads or there is understeer/oversteer? Compared to t-gt? For me that is THE most important part of FFB.
Must say you are recommending T598 with hyper car wheel and t-lcm. That is around 1100$ package if you would have bought it with your own money. Its FAR away from the entry you actually get in that 499$ "entry level". In reality its about 4x the money people use at "entry level". You are also rambling between pc/console and different games. If T598 is amazing in Rennsport that doesnt translate to playstation and GT7.. FFB is and always will be better on PC.
I just have to take every comment with a bucket full of salt from anyone getting free stuff from the manufacturer..😅
i dont understand how the hyper wheel is going to make the base better.. sure it might have more weight that then dampens the base but its not going to improve its ffb behaviour.. then recommend buying the base with the pedals just to use the spring lol.. there are loads of very cheap brake mods for the tlcm if your already in the tm eco system your gonna want the base on its own unless the loadcell mod turns out to make the pedal's a lot better
@awakeandwatching953 exactly - i'm also waiting if the base alone comes available, as im already deep in TM ecosystem. Im also especially interested how T598 works in playstation and gt7, as that is where T598 as the only ps compatible TM direct drive is important. If one is going to play on pc and use t-lcm and premium rims, one is also propably better off with the T818, which was on sale for 699€. Talking T598 as "entry level" with 400€ rim and 250€ pedals is just nuts..
I paid 1400 for my Fanatec setup and just ordered the V3 inverted pedals for another 450 after tax and shipping. So yeah 1100 for the complete Thrustmaster setup is fine. Not only that you realize the i spent 1100 for the T-GT II and EVO Racing 32R Wheel a couple months ago
It doesn't make the base better it makes the experience better it's a very premium wheel.
