Of course he has a german name - he was German.
Poland didn't exist in WW1. About half of what is modern day Poland was part of the German Empire, the rest was split between Russia and Austria-Hungary. The old kingdom of Poland had ceased to exist in the third partition of Poland in 1795.
Regarding to fighter pilots in both world wars...the German aces had no equals. The most successful fighter pilot in WW1 was Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron, with 80 confirmed kills. The most successfull fighter pilot in WW2 (and the most successfull ace of all times) was Erich "Bubi" Hartmann with 352 confirmed kills. No allied pilot in either war reached even 100 kills.
The most successfull Allied pilot in WW1 was canadian pilot William "Billy" Bishop with 72 kills, the most successfull Allied pilot in WW2 where Soviet pilots Ivan Kozhedub and Lev shostakov with 66 kills each. Since you're US americans - the most successfull US pilots where Eddie RIckenbacker with 26 kills in WW1 and David McCampbell with 36 kills in WW2.
7:10 Come on are you kidding me? The main battlefields where the trenches in France where the Germans fought against the British and the French, the Isonzo river where the Austria-Hungarians fought against the Italians and some large battles in the east between Germany and Russia, however the eastern front was not the static trench warfare it was in the west.
There where no fights in Britain, the island itself was untouched by the war.
Jasta is short for Jagdstaffel which translates as Fighter Squadron. Jasta 11, also known as the Flying Circus and led by Manfred von Richthofen, was the most famous German fighter squadron because of the huge amount of kills and aces they had.
Bloody April is the April of 1917. During this month the Central Powers (aka Germany and its Allies) inflicted immense casualties on the Allies (Aka the British and the French) at the Western Front, both on the ground and in the air. The Brits lost 245 planes in that month, 89 of which where shot down by Jasta 11...and von Richthofen himself scored 21 of those 89 kills. The French also lost a considerable amount of fighters in the Battle of the Aisne.
PS: Kaputt is German btw. The english translation is broken.

The Red Baron was the ace of aces he flew for the german air force, Prussia at the time was a German Kingdom and was a the Prime Leader of the German Empire, 80% of Prussia is now modern day polish, but back then it was german. He was given full military honors by his enemy: The Australians aka British at the time, he was so good enough at his job that he was honored by the enemy.

    Aw *come on* ! 🤣
    "What's Prussia?" - really?🥺
It's a bygone German state, big one, that was (unfairly since the whole nazi-movement was bloody *Bavarian* ) blamed for the World Wars and dissolved after the second.
It's well known for the statement "Usually a state has an army, Prussia is an army with a state attached".
Prussia fought pretty much everyone in Europe with only Britain as ally in the *Seven Years War* and *won* - the *Seven Years War* is the greater conflict that the *French and Indian War* is the American theatre btw. .
I descend directly from Prussian Huguenots (religious refugees originally from France that where accepted into Prussia as full new citizens) - hell if the last holder of the title "de Breford" and name didn't die, ironically, in the *First Battle of the Marne* at the apex of the opening campaign of *the Great War* in '14 in France I might still be a titled bloke🤣 - never mind that the title was void and pointless and just a name ever since the *late 17th century* 🤣😂.
And the *Iron Cross* on the planes might have set you off it's Germany, it's three German States later and our (currently somewhat pathetic😣 but hey, they got a budget boost recently) air force *still* has the *Iron Cross* on it's wings.
There's even Taktisches Luftgeschwader 71 *Richthofen* named for him and having a red *R* over the NATO star as it's coat of arms.
    Best regards

Manfred Von Richtofen or The Red Baron was 25 and fought for the German Air Force. That French flag you saw was more than likely taken of a French plane he shot done as a trophy, he is credited with 80 Arial Victories or kills, when he died the Allies/his enemies buried him with full military honors showing there respect. The red Baron was a German flying ace with 80 kills, Prussia was a kingdom in the German empire that no longer exists because the allies got rid of it after ww2. But the timeline is in ww1 and it was actually one of the pilots he shot down that gave him the name when the red Baron landed with him. He was fighting for the central powers with the German empire, ottoman empire, Austro-hungarian empire and Bulgaria, fighting against the allies. The red Baron had the highest amount of kills out of every pilot from all sides.

Manfred von Richthofen aka "The Red Baron" is a German Ace Fighter during WW1. He was the student of the "Father of Air Combat". The Red Baron once flew the Abratos D.III. He then daringly painted it the color red. He then was part of what many called it "The Flying Circus" because of the brightly colored planes. He then got his famous Fokker DR.I. He then got a brain injury (or head injury) and landed in an airfield. His mood changed. He crashed on April 1918 because he was chasing an allied plane. He was flying too low that the men on the ground could shoot the plane. He took the chase too far then a plane shot him. When he died the allied forces gave him a full military honours. Basically a proper funeral by the enemy. Also prussia is basically old germany. Notes, France is the enemy, he was fighting britain, they meant Austrian, the animation and voiceover is by YarnHub, he is German, and France and Britain were basically teammates. Allied forces consist of Great Britain, France, Russia, Romania, Canada, Japan, and the United States. Central Powers were Germany, Austria-hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire. WW1 started when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assisnated. They thought that the one who assisnated Ferdinand was from Romania and they declared war on Romania.

Another tiny bit of information: The numbers shown in the top right corner basically tell the losses of the british air force (245) during this one month - 89 of these losses were done by the german Jasta 11 or JagdStaffel 11 (pursuit squadron 11). Considered that a squadron had about 12 to 20 planes at that time you can see how succesful this squadron must have been under the command of Manfred von Richthofen in this specific month.

If it helps identifying future combatants, the isignia's are mostly all you need. All german military personnel in the two world wars have only two insignia they bear. One is the Nazi Swatsika for WW2 and the other is the Iron Cross isignia, used in both world wars and still used today. The Red Baron's plane had the Iron Cross all over his plane, which makes him part of the German Aviation "Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte".

Just a bit of education for you....Manfred von Richthofen was from Prussia which is the old name for Germany, he was NOT British but he was German. Yes the Germans were mainly fighting us British, the French, the Australians, the Belgians and the Canadians. The Americans eventually turned up but by then the war was almost over. The Red Baron was what Manfred von Richthofen was called because he flew a plane which was painted Red and because he was an actual Baron. When you said that he was British I laughed uncontrollably, also you automatically assumed that the Red Plane was called the Red Baron OMG that is thick. Hm ... very ... I don't know ... American reaction. 🙂 Kind of weird that you don't do at least some basic geography and history research if you do a Sabaton video (although I guess some of it MUST have come up in high school). Really hurts a bit. But oh well, at least your reactions are funny so no complaining here ...

You are a funny bunch of reactors but, frankly, try some history lessons before reacting to a Sabaton song: it would help greatly!
