First off I wanted to say I really like your videos. But I think shooting that gobbler out of the tree was wrong. It’s legal here in Missouri to do it also but it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. I was really disappointed when you kept egging her in to shoot. I know you like to have kills on the videos but that was wrong.

This is my first year going turkey hunting. I’m going with a buddy opening weekend here in Michigan. To say I’m stoked is a understatement

Congratulations on a great bird in a unusual hunt. Lol, sometimes you have a hunt like you could never think of happening. I've never had luck roosting and most times getting a morning gobble on still quiet days. Great video and see yall next time

Lena Walsh. I have hunted turkeys all my life , I’m 83 now can’t get around very good but in all those years I never would’ve shot one out of the tree. I’m like you, it was almost a sin to do that. Some people call themselves turkey hunters but really they are just killers. They don’t really enjoy the hunt, just the killing.
@@randyhunt3299 Like shooting deer over bait piles? In my state it is illegal and other states perfectly legal and practiced by many. I don't go around saying that people aren't hunters because they hunt over bait. I guess people that participate in deer drives aren't hunters either? It all depends where you are from but I would say they enjoy their time outdoors. I personally wouldn't shoot one out of a tree but It is their time and money. By the way poachers are the killers and hunting is all about conservation not your personal beliefs and enjoyment!
When it's dead quiet like that in the afternoon on public land where I hunt it usually means the birds are feeding and quietly clucking as they do it. It makes it tough to set up when they aren't gobbling but what I usually do is hunt them like deer and set up on they're travel routes and wait. Especially the routes where they head back to roost. I just quietly cluck every once in a while. I've had some luck doing that. Not as good as when they're fired up but it sometimes works

Quiet day, usually i cant get a keep out of birds.. last year was dead quiet, ro responses to my calls, one of the machines for the gas well fired up, gobbler hammered back to it about 75yds from me.. i called one time, he gobbled and in 2 mins he was dead in front of me.. my advice is make sure you have heavy machinery following you around if they wont answer your calling lol..

I've had hens and gobblers do that. Probably just trying to get a better look for anything from other turkeys to predators. Worked out well. Sometimes birds go to the trees in the middle of the day. Just gotta play that game when they do!

I shot a bird out of a tree once, I startled him when I got up to take a leak! He jumped up in the closest tree. Shot him right off the branch. Put my root away and picked up the turkey. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush! Nice hunt Catman!

Get a wood duck call and do a pileated wood pecker call, sometimes it works for me or if you're near water do a wood duck call heard em gobble at live ones b4

I don't know why, maybe barometric pressure? When there are no songbirds making noise the turkey are usually silent too.

To answer your question. Yeah anytime there is no background noise . It’s like nothing happens . Maybe a gobble at fly up, but if all the other wildlife is quiet generally so are the turkeys

And for those people judging you, screw em. I don't shoot birds on the limb, but I also don't judge hunters for doing what they are legally allowed to do. Arguments among hunters over ethics are pointless and do nothing but fuel the antihunter's fire. If a hunter stays within the limits of the law, there shouldn't be a thing said. Don't like it? Either write your local legislator and get the law changed or get over it.
