I like how you show the real hunting! I just missed one at 40-45 yards and after working him just like this. Makes ya sick to your stomach but it’s real and it happens
An old, very accomplished turkey hunter trained me 20 years ago.... he always did a PUT just before I would shoot........told me.... son, their head is moving all around, back and forth..... when you " Put " its their attention call and they stop and raise their head as high as they can to look around...providing a far superior target, a nice stretched out neck and very still..........but be ready, cuz they will stare you down....... I have not missed any when heeding his training and advice......
Who would like to see catman make a morel mushroom hunting video and go to every pin on onx that he has marked where he's found them previously (obv in his state)and see how many he can come up with
Lots packed into this film. The mushrooms. The shed. The nesting Woody. The blowing and the hamering. I don't remember every kill I've made. I'm 73, but I remember miss like it was yesterday!
it was exciting catman we have all done it .I had a hen 5 jakes and 2 long beards in my decoys and missed do not know how but it happens. really enjoyed all that gobbling keep up the good work
I had one gobbling like that a couple of weeks ago on my place in SC. Called him from the roost, across a pasture and paved road to within 60 yards of me then hung up. He stopped in a logging road where he could strut but where he couldn't see my decoys. I endured his gobbling for nearly an hour before he gave up and wandered off. But it was one of the best hunts I've had since I starting turkey hunting in 1983.
Cooperative Tom’s are few and far between this season so when you get one you gotta go hard on him. Hens have been leading all but two of the gobblers I’ve worked this year and I managed to mess up those two on my own. Fun and frustrating and I’ve still got 3 sleep deprived weeks to go. Great video!
Many people watch your videos,,, could you please describe your gun,bbl length, choke n restriction, ammo manufacturer, shot size etc. You do good videos young man and we appreciate it. But more insight into the equipment would help beginners and rookies. I've chased turkey for 40 yrs and tried to pass on the love of it to many people , both young and older. Stay safe, Keep at it, pass it on.
You were treated to some insane gobbling! The miss was unfortunate, but we've all done it and will do it again........I hope you have the chance to get back on him.
Oh they will drive you to insanity Catman!! That’s why it’s so bloody frustrating and exciting at the same time. You worked the hell out of that bird and you made your move and this time he won.
Great video! You'll get him next time! What a rush!!!! Season ends on the 15th out here in California. Bow only right now. Got me all fired up to get out there!
Man you worked hard for that one. Sorry it didn’t pan out. I don’t think I have ever heard a Tom gobble that many times. Great video. I like showing hunts where things don’t go to plan . RUclips can give people an unrealistic expectation of the difficulty of hunts when people just put together highlight reels as hunting and fishing videos.
Lord have mercy I love to hear a bird gobble, but that almost got annoying lol. That ole boy's throat had to be hurting. Good hunt man!! Shake off that miss and get after another one.
I found a 20 dollar call works as good as a 200 dollar one when they are hot like this. Sorry you missed buddy thats the type hunt I wish I could help everyone I take experience.
I think you had to shoot when you did. He sounded like he started putting and was about to leave. . Lots of air around them birds but that was still a great hunt.
Thank you for a riveting and fantastic video! Man alive that Gobbler was having an OVERDOSE on Viagra. As my friend George Jones said, "Hotter than a two dollar pistol!"
If you ain't missed you haven't hunted for long, you learned on this hunt, I would say the lessons here were 1)to go at a hard gobbling Tom, don't wait on him, 2)and when to shoot. Part of the process, you got the love of hunting you will get him!!🦃👍
I’ve heard that much gobbling from multiple birds, but not from a single Tom. That was awesome and would have had me rattled too. Your gun barrel was swaying in the wind. How long were you on that bird before you shot?
Hey bud whats that water way you hunt and is that public land and do you have to have a permit to turkey hunt here in North Carolina half or more of garlands gotta have permit to turkey hunt and they go faster than lightning and never can get one
Rule number 1, never get busted. Setup is 95% of the hunt. The other 5% is patience. Try muzzleloading long beards, it teaches you a lot about the woods and what to do and not to do.
Talk about a bird that likes to hear himself talk😂 and don’t worry about the miss if you didn’t shoot you would’ve been telling yourself all week you could’ve killed him if you tried
That was awesome! Missed? Who hasn't. Taken shots we probably shouldn't have? Who hasn't. No way I would have waited either after the insane gobbling and the time it took to get him in range. That was a fun hunt.
Very cool ,! If you would have shot that bird,we wouldn’t get any more hunting videos for a while 😜. Not glad you missed but we all will be waiting for the “redemption “ video 🤪🤪thanks for sharing
I got a scam reply on one of my comments about winning something. If you want me to send it to you let me know how to get in contact. Don't want anyone getting hosed
Patience young Jedi....he was coming, 3 or 4 more steps and you would have had a clean kill. We have all done it. Best way to get over that bird is to kill another one.
This is the second hunt you’ve posted recently where you left high ground above you and I can’t understand why. I’ve always viewed hill country as an advantage because the birds tend to take very predictable lines. I know you’re a good hunter but that’s two birds you probably would have had if you took the high ground.
Catman. I'm not sure if it's you or not but I am being contacted by someone that's claiming to be you saying I've won a prize and I just need to pay a shipping fee. The original contact was through a RUclips comment reply that I received today seems kind of sketchy?? Thanks keep up the good work
I like how you show the real hunting! I just missed one at 40-45 yards and after working him just like this. Makes ya sick to your stomach but it’s real and it happens
I had one sneak in behind me at six yards opening day and blew it! My only opportunity this year. Like you said, it happens. It’s real hunting
Thanks for taking me along on your hunts. A old friend told me before he passed that “you gotta have bad days to make the good days more memorable.”
You sound like some goof
I love how you said we missed em! I felt like I was there with you after all them gobbles
Another great video and day in the woods. Mushrooms, a shed and some turkey action. What more could a guy ask for?
Who would like to see catman make a morel mushroom hunting video and go to every pin on onx that he has marked where he's found them previously (obv in his state)and see how many he can come up with
Lots packed into this film. The mushrooms. The shed. The nesting Woody. The blowing and the hamering. I don't remember every kill I've made. I'm 73, but I remember miss like it was yesterday!
Dang Bubba. That was a good one. He was smart. Stayed on that hill and was telling you to come to him. I've been dealing with one like that too
That bird did some serious gobbling, for sure. I can't hardly get them to gobble at all this year but, still getting birds in.
Them old ones like that are usually really smart. He sure wasted no time getting out of there.
it was exciting catman we have all done it .I had a hen 5 jakes and 2 long beards in my decoys and missed do not know how but it happens. really enjoyed all that gobbling keep up the good work
what an awesome hunt! loud n lazy birds can be some of the toughest to get.
Man!!!!!! That one hurts BAD!! I feel it for u on that one! Ol boy was absolutely on fire hot, what an intense hunt! Thanks for sharing with us
wish you had a gobbler counter on the screen lol that was insane
Wow! Hot Bird! I'd be scared to call in a bird gobbling that hard on the public lands around here. Have every guy for a mile right on top of me.
Ive been dealing with henned up toms all week here in wisco as well. Called one by himself that hung up out of range.
Catman it’s a wonder u didn’t have a nervous breakdown before he got there. That was a gobblin fool there . Good video.
Many people watch your videos,,, could you please describe your gun,bbl length, choke n restriction, ammo manufacturer, shot size etc. You do good videos young man and we appreciate it. Love your videos been watching from the beginning its great to seen someone hammering gobblers.
Thanks for showing the good and the bad! We ALL go thru it
You were treated to some insane gobbling!
Getting ready to go try for a turkey my self got the notification so heck ya this will help u get ready for a hunt
He would have had me all jacked up too! If that tree wasn't there you would have had him.
Great video! You'll get him next time! What a rush!!!! Season ends on the 15th out here in California. Bow only right now. Got me all fired up to get out there!
Crazy gobbling. Reminds me of one with hens i ran into. Wouldn't leave them and I couldnt call them in.
Wow never heard a bird gobble that much!!
Great job. Keep making videos.
hey buddy it happens. it's hard to tell how much is enough patience.
I absolutely love deer, and deer hunting but man when they blow at me 😡 hahaha
I’ve never heard anything like that awesome video
It happens that's why we hunt awesome video definitely was gobbling will be waiting for your next video
I really enjoy your videos. I don't know if you've ever tried it, but you can use your wingbone for a striker on slate calls.
good idea! i never thought of that. I'll try it.
Yep it makes a great striker
Man you worked hard for that one. Sorry it didn’t pan out. I don’t think I have ever heard a Tom gobble that many times. Great video. I like showing hunts where things don’t go to plan . RUclips can give people an unrealistic expectation of the difficulty of hunts when people just put together highlight reels as hunting and fishing videos.
Them deer got it out for you man 🤣 always the deer 😂😂😂
Lord have mercy I love to hear a bird gobble, but that almost got annoying lol. That ole boy's throat had to be hurting. Good hunt man!! Shake off that miss and get after another one.
Heartbreaker -- however, what an experience. Hard to let one go that you've worked for that long. Clearly he didn't like the setup.
You’ll get em next time cat man
I found a 20 dollar call works as good as a 200 dollar one when they are hot like this. Sorry you missed buddy thats the type hunt I wish I could help everyone I take experience.
Sorry Catman still good hunt that bird is educated thank u for such good videos
Thanks for the great video! I’d like to get setup to call/hunt turkeys this year. It’s time to start practicing! What calls do you like? Thanks!
Not the ending you want, but that's as good as it gets man.
Shake it off man happens to the best of us great video as always
I think you had to shoot when you did. He sounded like he started putting and was about to leave. . Lots of air around them birds but that was still a great hunt.
Amazing hunt, remarkable gobbling...for all that gobbling and as 'hot' as he seemed, he sure didn't come charging in. Ouch that hurts...we understand
thanks for posting. thought my phone was malfunctioning the way the gobble was edited.
That birds got a serious gobble on him. Thankful I hunt Easterns👌
That is one gobbling fool.
Thank you for a riveting and fantastic video! Man alive that Gobbler was having an OVERDOSE on Viagra. As my friend George Jones said, "Hotter than a two dollar pistol!"
Dude that was one sly bird - bummed. Ain’t forgetting that one.
WE missed !!! 😂
Wow. How can you manage that.
That turkey was red hot with all those gobbles
That was the hottest turkey I’ve ever heard
Thats the kind you like....lol!!
If you ain't missed you haven't hunted for long, you learned on this hunt, I would say the lessons here were 1)to go at a hard gobbling Tom, don't wait on him, 2)and when to shoot. Part of the process, you got the love of hunting you will get him!!🦃👍
Speak for your self. I have never missed a gobbler that I shot at.
@@bountyhunter1246ur a rookie and probably use decoys and bait ..... amateur
Man that hurt me .dang it.
Heartbreaking! Great hunt though.
sometimes you just miss...... that's the way it goes
Gonna have to ake a move on him ,,,He aint wanting to come down there
most gobblin i have heard
Never heard one gobble that many times.
That dude probably has a sore throat from all that lol
At 6:29 the top turkey is a longboard.
Taking a page out of the THP playbook and blowing shots
I’ve heard that much gobbling from multiple birds, but not from a single Tom. That was awesome and would have had me rattled too. Your gun barrel was swaying in the wind. How long were you on that bird before you shot?
Hey cat ur a great turkey hunter an I love your show but how u wear crocs
Hey bud whats that water way you hunt and is that public land and do you have to have a permit to turkey hunt here in North Carolina half or more of garlands gotta have permit to turkey hunt and they go faster than lightning and never can get one
Did anyone try and get a count? Lol old boy is fired up
I have done the same thing 👍
Many that one would wear me out!
You shot too high! Plenty of room for that pattern to smoke him. We've all been there. Helluva good hunt though!
It stings when you miss one
Dang man I hate that happened
Good try hope u get the next one
Catman
Do you ever have problems with truck or camping gear get stolen when camping in Kentucky? Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!!
Hillbilly mafia!!!!
I've been told by plenty of old timers, "You CANNOT call a Turkey downhill."
I'm not 100% on that, but it does seem to be more difficult.
Depending on the situation I usually try to call them uphill. But the property line was only about 40 yards up the hill from me.
That's not true...lol...it's like when guys say they are call shy..
It's just another myth by guys who can't turkey hunt and make excuses...lol
What was that bird in the tree??
All been there. Happened to me this last season. Gobbling his head off, too thick. Shouldn't have shot but did. Watched him run away.
What do you mean “we” missed him? Lol. That was exciting. Sometimes you win sometimes they win and that’s okay😉
In Tennessee not Kentucky my bad
Crock man, that tom was full of himself. How'd you miss? Looked in range
That was awesome! Missed? Who hasn't. Taken shots we probably shouldn't have? Who hasn't. No way I would have waited either after the insane gobbling and the time it took to get him in range. That was a fun hunt.
Was that a crow in the bottom of that hollow tree?
Turkey vulture on a nest
Dang…… awesome hunt anyway son…….
Yeah j I’m think people show all aspects of hunting good the bad and ugly
Got another text “winner” message. Another hack ?🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very cool ,! If you would have shot that bird,we wouldn’t get any more hunting videos for a while 😜. Not glad you missed but we all will be waiting for the “redemption “ video 🤪🤪thanks for sharing
Catman u giving away prizes or is it a scam
I got a scam reply on one of my comments about winning something. If you want me to send it to you let me know how to get in contact. Don't want anyone getting hosed
Patience young Jedi....he was coming, 3 or 4 more steps and you would have had a clean kill. We have all done it. Best way to get over that bird is to kill another one.
I had never seen a person that could spook the majority of animals they stumble across in the woods until I started watching your videos.
Love you Catman but flicker effect was a bit annoying
This is the second hunt you’ve posted recently where you left high ground above you and I can’t understand why. I’ve always viewed hill country as an advantage because the birds tend to take very predictable lines. I know you’re a good hunter but that’s two birds you probably would have had if you took the high ground.
I couldn’t go any higher because of property lines.
There was alot of rewinding of the gobbling in this video.
I don't think he was rewinding, I think each clip was a separate gobble and Catman just edited out the downtime in between.
Yep those were all separate gobbles edited together
that would have been a good time for a decoy.
Catman. I'm not sure if it's you or not but I am being contacted by someone that's claiming to be you saying I've won a prize and I just need to pay a shipping fee. The original contact was through a RUclips comment reply that I received today seems kind of sketchy?? Thanks keep up the good work
It is a scam
