I didn't say they were the "best" just that they're classics. If you're going to have a list of American hotdogs, the Chicago dog should be the first thing you think of. Other than, maybe chilli dogs. :\
I find it utterly incomprehensible that the Chicago style hot dog wasn't on the list. That's like making a video called "Americans Try Irish Beer", and not including Guinness. smh
These types of videos tend to be more about "Let's make fun of American food" instead of "Let's see if it's good or not". So it's not surprising to me they wouldn't test something that is generally considered good.
@RICH82AIRBORNE Have you had a Chicago hot dog because I actually have had a red jordan and while a good hot dog you are way overselling it as it doesnt even come close
Easy there. I thought the same thing but think of it this way: They just can't be copied. I mean really; they need to be steamed for about an hour then deep fried for 30 seconds or so. They onions need to be translucent and caramelized, and that takes time. You need fresh VIENNA poppy seed buns, VIENNA ALL BEEF FRANKS (would you Really want them to use Oscar Meyer Wieners or bland Ball Park franks?) fresh sour pickle spears, sweet pickle relish and fresh tomato's. Come to think of it, they tried a Chicago style deep dish but it was their "attempt" at it. Can you imagine their reaction to a fresh from the oven Giordano's or Lou Malnati's? They'd lose their minds! Not only are we spoiled but we can't be copied!

Irish aren't obligated to like cabbage. Besides, sauerkraut is pickled/fermented cabbage, which makes it more pungent and ...well...sour tasting. That can put people off. Everyone has different tastes. There are some people who don't like chocolate. I don't understand that, but I accept it as their preference.
@@norwegianblue2017 Well I can't fight you on that. Yes DEFINITELY on a Brat. But on your first comment...The BEST sauerkraut I EVER had was in Koln Germany..just down the street from the famous church. Thick..creamy...One could make a meal JUST with that. Never had such excellence with Sauerkraut in the USA.
Detroit hot dogs are called coneys. And they have chili and white sweet onions minced up along with mustard. And the mustard doesn't go across in swipes it goes vertical on the dog. Who puts mustard on a hot dog horizontally? If you are going to represent certain hot dogs then do so as accurately as possible.
And i would add that there are really only three areas known for hot dogs. New York. Chicago and Detroit. Everywhere else there are individual styles but not as well known. San Franciso. Not known well for hot dogs. Kansas City also. And Disneyland isn't a city.
san franciso is known mainly for mexican food especially taco trucks and kc is barbecue.also I've never heard of such hotdogs and I've been to these places.so I think those hot dogs are most likely made up.

Almost all of the " people try american food" videos have foods with the states they come from and almost every time not a single person from that state has heard of them. Its almost like they're making shit up
no chicago dog? that's like eating irish food but with no potatoes or cabbage in sight, that's like eating asian food with no Rice, that's like listening to Kanye West talk and not dieing a little on the inside...
I'm a Bay Area Californian, never seen that BLT dog anywhere, though i really fuckin want one now lol. A Californian street dog would be a Mexican hot dog; bacon wrapped, topped with onions and green peppers fried in the bacon drippings. Diced fresh tomatoes on top are also common. Those are the hot dogs you find outside the bars at last call, especially in San Jose.
I've never heard of one either, seems a lot more common to see vietnamese style hot dogs, or just the classic mustard and onions/relish. To be fair though, i've never heard of a mexican style one either, this whole show is about sweeping generalizations. Maybe they should have gone with the ever ubiquitous pack of 60 frozen corn dogs lol
Carolina dog. Fried red hotdog, yellow mustard, beef chilli, cole slaw, chopped onion, white wheat bun lightly brushed with butter and heated on the grill.
Ha! Just got done posting this for someone else. They also added a spicy cheese option and have the firehouse option as well, which adds a spicy shake sprinkled on the cheese and sriracha sauce.
Try a Sonoran Dog, from Southern Arizona. There's bacon, and pinto beans and grilled onions, and a fireworks-burst of condiments: chopped fresh onions, chopped fresh tomatoes, jalapeño sauce, mayonnaise, mustard. Add a grilled yellow chile on the side and voilà, the Sonoran Hot Dog―aka the Mexican Hot Dog―which has risen to cult status in the Southwest.
I'd like to know who actually eats the Mac and cheese dog and the blt. never heard of them and I'm American and I live in florida. Where's the Chicago dog?
The Mac N Cheese hotdog is a rarity even in Disney. You have to go during the right times of the year to even see them being sold. Most times you'll find the giant turkey legs instead.
A Detroit "coney dog" is Greek style chili, yellow mustard, and white or yellow diced onion. It's the same setup but with variations in chili recipe, type of hot dog (natural casing, no casing, etc), and/or onion (white, Spanish, etc.) at every Coney Island in the state of Michigan. In southeast, MI (which includes Detroit) there is a Coney Island on just about every block. Other than the coney dogs, the food is mostly Greek or at least Greek inspired.
Hugedickerino Kripperino actually I'm 15 and I'll be voting in the next election so it's important to me that I understand what each candidate stands for and what direction they plan on taking our country.
They have a point ya know. It's good that people are getting so concerned earlier and earlier. It's about damn time we get some people who actually give a damn what happens in this country. And not just to themselves but to everyone else as well.
which judging by your knee jerk reaction to try to invalidate OPs opinion by questioning their age when they mentioned Trump negatively, I think it would be a safe bet that you voted for him. In which case you did NOT vote with all of your fellow Americans in mind but rather just for yourself and those like you. So again. It's good to get kids involved early.
CupcakeLove ikr...never heard of that mess before. ironic with the name "facts" you think they'd bother to check.....some facts before posting this LOL
Other than a sauerkraut hotdog (preferably Bavarian kraut, which is not as sour and has caraway seeds in it.), my favorite is French's yellow mustard, chopped white onions and no-bean, ground beef chili. The mustard gives it just the right amount of tartness. 😋
"I live in America, and I've never seen that!" One has to realize the USA is the third largest country in the world. The chance that the average American citizen has seen all of these hotdogs, or that the video included all the hotdogs available in the US of A, is kinda slim.
a) The Detroit dog is called a Coney ;) I feel like only Michiganders (and some Canadians) call them that, though and b) Ya gotta have a Chicago dog. Otherwise, nice!
Actually, a Coney dog and a chili dog are two different things. A Coney dog has no beans and is made from beef and venison and contains hearts of both, also, that was probably the worst replication of a Coney dog I have ever seen! step up your game facts ;)
Did they seriously skip out on the Chicago dog L.A. Street dog and Sonora dog there like the best ones!?!? But they gave them that BLT abomination that no ones even heard of and a wannabe hotdog from Florida, Unforgivable.
Chicago dogs would have caused an uproar and would have crashed the hotdog stock market. They didn’t add them in this video in fear of getting the guests addicted to the most legendary style of hotdog known to man
ok, for those that don't know, the Chicago dog is the best hotdog in america.....i know i know, you think I'm being biased because it's my favorite but it's true..........that I'm biased.
Personally I think they just looked up American hotdogs and also I am from the UK been to Florida and (I was 7 12 now) I can't remember seeing or eating the 'Chicago dog' (apologies if I spelt it wrong) anyway they might have not known it was even one and they are used to there foods!
woodcraft camper The Chicago dog has too many things on it that are healthy. That is why the Coney Island Dog from Detroit is far superior. Also, before you bitch, I have had a proper Chicago Dog at Portillo's and they still cannot hold a candle to National.
I know Chicago Franks was a chain and they had great hot dogs with the neon green relish and a hot pepper and what ever you want .They were next door to where I worked in Harvard Square in the 90's .So good ! So missed !
A Chicago dog is the best. That style dog is topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges, pickled sport peppers and a dash of celery salt. The complete assembly of a Chicago hot dog is said to be "dragged through the garden" due to the many toppings. Oh, and NO ketchup at all. If you choose to put ketchup on one of these hot dogs, it ceases being a Chicago Style Hot Dog. Ring the bell of shame while you're at it like they make those people do at 35th St. Red Hots and I'm sure many other places in the city.
@Jamie Flynn Yes, there are a few place that do it but those place make your dog with the topping you choose not the places that allow you to top it yourself.
@Jamie Flynn Death penalty in Chicago if you put ketchup on a hot dog... Well, it's a death penalty just being in Chicago, but now they'd have an excuse...
the best hot dog I ever had was in San diego, ca where it was a bratwurst on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut, grilled onions, and a little bit of this reddish colored mustard on the side.
Ha, have them make y'all this one. Burger topped with provolone cheese, bacon, lettuce, Tempura battered onion ring, Banzai Sauce and a natural casing hot dog. They make it near my house. Its ridiculous .www.retrodog.com/burgers-and-sandwiches?lightbox=image1hvn
What is with people and the saurkraut! I personally find it the most disgusting thing on earth. I like a 'chili dog.' Bun, weiner, cheese, chili, finish it off with sweet relish. Perfect.

Sauerkraut varies greatly. It can be amazingly good--especially in Germany. Anyway, it really belongs on a brat, not a hot dog.
But they're all American. Stop being so nit-picky. Lol. Just eat the hot dog!
wpl Thanks for this comment. I was like "It's a Coney dog, duh"
san franciso is known mainly for mexican food especially taco trucks and kc is barbecue.also I've never heard of such hotdogs and I've been to these places.so I think those hot dogs are most likely made up.
Real Coneys use a Beef Hearts Meat Sauce, not Chili.
What about Carolina style? Cole slaw on a hot dog is a wonderful thing. Oh, and congrats, James!
J-Me right??
Miss Chris
The first time I saw one, I was like "wtf?", but it was really good, I've been a fan ever since.
My mom always ate them and I judged her so hard for it until I finally tried it and now I'm hooked!
I can def agree with that!
Miss Chris
That's how it usually goes, lol.
Seriously, no Chicago dog?? I hate hot dogs but you've gotta have a Red Hot.
I love the Sister, Sister reference so much!!
"oh my god......"

"Shut up don't ruin this moment"
IT FINALLY HAPPENED!

Nadia Mohamed Silver fox
JamesMitchellTV "Write the fan fiction!!!" YES. PLEASE. I need this after feeling miserable all day for my American friends. We need some light in this dark world, and James writing fan fiction about various members of Facts. IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL RETURN THE LIGHT & HOPE...
This entire taste test is invalid because they did not have a Chicago dog!
Probably left it off because it would have broken their minds.
I doubt they could handle the spicyness from the sport peppers.
Amen. It's not true American taste test without Chicago Style. FAIL!
Ya! Chicago dogs rule.
Irish budget cuts!Probably could not get the peppers in Ireland!
or a slaw dog. southern thang!
Watching these videos is my new obsession during quarantine in Pittsburgh, PA!
Write the fan fiction! If you say so Davey 😆
Sends us links if you do! Or make a vid of it. 😂
Oh my god, I can't believe there wasn't a Chicago style hotdog.
I live in KC. Never ever heard of KC dog nor has anyone I know
chase speer Same here.
Almost all of the " people try american food" videos have foods with the states they come from and almost every time not a single person from that state has heard of them. Its almost like they're making shit up
chase speer Same here. I've lived here for all my life and I've never heard of such a thing.
Born and raised, never heard of this either, I was raised on chili, cheese, onion and more cheese. And throw on some jalapenos
You would probably expect a KC dog to have Arthur Bryant's or Gates sauce on it
I'm very surprised a Carolina Dog wasn't on here. For those that don't know, that's mustard, chili, onions and cole slaw.
Sounds terrible.
It's really good. South Carolina here.
No Chicago dog or LA dog? Never even heard of SF blt crap. Creator must be from SF. Lame
ruffryder818 I agree
ruffryder818 LOL also never heard of the blt dog i think someone's not a fan of SF....btw
I live in SF and never heard of SF BLT dog..
No shit, how do you not do Chicago? Those are easily the best.
FROM SF and Never heard of that nonsense, only ever got dirty dogs aka street dogs from those people who sell them outside clubs after hours
they put James with Davey!
Chicago dogs are delicious.
"So this is what Sister Sister would have been eating in the back of Ray's Limousine"..... that guy is invited to the barbecue
no chicago dog? that's like eating irish food but with no potatoes or cabbage in sight, that's like eating asian food with no Rice, that's like listening to Kanye West talk and not dieing a little on the inside...
LMFAO!!!! That is the funniest comparison I've ever heard!...and probably the most "American" statement, ever.
I'm actually mad there's no Chicago dog. They need to redo this video now
Late Night with Dr. Fate Lmfao
Everyone has heard of Chicago dogs or Polish hotdogs. I grew up 2,000 miles from Chicago.
No Chicago dog?
not your average turtle rapist I'm from the Cleveland area, so I agree. But the hot dogs are iconic.
yes, Ohio.
yes sir, the one on detroit ave. you been?
How did you like it?
yeah they actually did add one in up there. I only know because of all the fruit loop hot dog posts I saw during the year.
Here in Cleveland we have a hot dog called a “polish boy”it’s a polish sausage with coleslaw,French fries, and bbq sauce . It’s an absolute treat.
That's a Polish. NOT a hot dog.
A polish sausage is a Polish sausage, NOT A HOT DOG!
You try a real Chicago hot dog.
James finally got to be in a Facts video with Davey! And then, the world rejoiced.
I feel insulted that one of the most popular hot dogs the Chicago style didn't make the list considering it's my hometown
Jack Podlasek I feel the same way it's the best dog in America
U are insulted over a video about fucking hotdogs
Chicago sucks ass thats why
Easy there.

Awww, I'm so glad I've finally seen a vid with James and Davey! And the conclusion is a great little twist to the Facts meta-narrative :P lol
Fried red hotdog, yellow mustard, beef chilli, cole slaw, chopped onion, white wheat bun lightly brushed with butter and heated on the grill.
smartacus88 Carolina dogs are definitely the best. All other hot dogs are sad and incomplete.
smartacus88 bruh sounds soooooo good
the california dog is a hot dog wrapped in bacon with pico de gallo and whatever else you want on it
Robert Wayne Deffenbaugh liar
Robert Wayne Deffenbaugh you must not know any Mexicans
I am from Chicago and I am offended. I feel EXCLUDED
That's OK, I'm in Kansas City and nobody eats whatever the hell that KC Rueben dog thing was.
I agree 100% we have the king of all hotdogs.
An offended American? That's new.
Girl, I'm right there with you
Chicago hot dogs are great !
Your "Detroit chili dog" is actually a Cincinnati chili dog. Detroit is better known for Coney dogs.
Only if it has Cincinnati chili. Also, Cincinnati coney wieners are 1/2 the size of a regular hot dog. Mustard, white onions, and cheese, baby.
Ha! Just got done posting this for someone else. They also added a spicy cheese option and have the firehouse option as well, which adds a spicy shake sprinkled on the cheese and sriracha sauce.
I think they would have wigged out on the cinnamon had it been CinciStyle chili.
Not to be confused with the Flint coney
Coney dogs which are actually chilli dogs!
who's the guy in the black beanie and he's always my favorite one!
thank you
Try a Sonoran Dog, from Southern Arizona.
Yaaaasssss
I'd like to know who actually eats the Mac and cheese dog and the blt. never heard of them and I'm American and I live in florida. Where's the Chicago dog?
Elizabeth Smith Well it does say it's from Disneyland. I'd totally eat it.
There is a place that serves blt dogs in KC. But it's not a top selling item
The Mac N Cheese hotdog is a rarity even in Disney. You have to go during the right times of the year to even see them being sold. Most times you'll find the giant turkey legs instead.
Disneyland isn't in Florida; it's in California. So maybe they serve it there, not here.
Other than the coney dogs, the food is mostly Greek or at least Greek inspired.
every video the redhead on the left gets cooler!
Jealous of her bf :P
She is absolutely adorable.
Disneyland isn't in Florida. Disneyland is in California Disney world is in Florida.
Sorry if that sounded rude or aggressive trump was just elected president and I'm on edge
Lol what r u 12? Just stay outta politics kid it doesnt apply to u
I’m Scottish and even I know you’ve made a huge boo boo not having the Chicago dog! They look amazing. I’m sad it’s not here 😭
as a proud Michigan woman thank you for having a hot dog from Detroit!! though we don't call it a "Detroit Dog" i'll give you a pass on that
Calling it a Coney would have been confusing to anyone who only knows Coney Island as a place in New York.
thank you for voting trump. maga
Laura Clemens Michigan here!! 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
selenamarie i was at Gus' Coney Island on main last week. I didn't have a coney, I had a Gyros sandwich, But I did have Chili fries
Laura Clemens but everyone else calls it a Detroit Dog.
James got to sit with Davey 😊 and yaaaassss to Sage Francis.
A BLAND BLT hot dog was featured, but not Chicago dog? I am appalled
I love a bean chili, but this is my preferred dog magnets
I'm from Nyc and that was a weak hot dog! Should have had onions 😋
i don't like onions m8 :(
Dani Reyes you're not a real new yawker then! Lol jk
Anyone who says New Yawker is definitely not a real New Yorker
No NYC dirty water dogs? The test is invalid!!!
I'm glad of Chicago hot dog tho
No Chicago dog? The KING of American hotdogs? WTF?
And you don't try Chicago Dog!?!
I love the sister sister reference classic
you did't do a Chicago style hot dog.....I thought that would be after NY and chili dog.....
PS "Detroit has all the cool stuff..." Awwwww
Allie Yeah I'm from Detroit & everyone here calls it a Coney Dog lol
Alex Moran I'm from Grand Rapids. But we have a few Coney places, too!
Actually, a Coney dog and a chili dog are two different things. A Coney dog has no beans and is made from beef and venison and contains hearts of both, also, that was probably the worst replication of a Coney dog I have ever seen! step up your game facts ;)
You do realize that coney dogs are called coney's because they originated on Coney Island? As in not in Detroit.
Watched this before but never noticed the Save Francis shirt.......legend Davey
Did they seriously skip out on the Chicago dog L.A. Street dog and Sonora dog there like the best ones!?!? But they gave them that BLT abomination that no ones even heard of and a wannabe hotdog from Florida, Unforgivable.
No dirty water street dogs? That's the true hotdog staple of NYC
How could they not have a Chicago dog?! Those things are an institution!
It might be hard for them to get the actual dog, since you can't just use any old generic hot dog to make a red hot or so I've been told.
That's right up there with heresy, blasphemy and slapping the baby Jesus....
Chicago dogs would have caused an uproar and would have crashed the hotdog stock market. They didn’t add them in this video in fear of getting the guests addicted to the most legendary style of hotdog known to man
kind of surprised they didn't give them a corn dog or pretzel dog
Absolute travesty that Chicago wasnt included. You left the best one out!
ok, for those that don't know, the Chicago dog is the best hotdog in america.....i know i know, you think I'm being biased because it's my favorite but it's true..........that I'm biased.
woodcraft camper no, you're actually 100% spot on, it is the best hot dog!
woodcraft camper I disagree, I think coney dogs are the best (they are a deliciously messy)
@@MarcAndElena Hot dogs are not made to hold candles.
Ketchup should never be on a hot dog.
@Jamie Flynn Yes, there are a few place that do it but those place make your dog with the topping you choose not the places that allow you to top it yourself.
@@gcrain464 Just like mayo on a burger. YUK!
@Jamie Flynn Death penalty in Chicago if you put ketchup on a hot dog... Well, it's a death penalty just being in Chicago, but now they'd have an excuse...
pOPPY SEED BUN.
the best hot dog I ever had was in San diego, ca where it was a bratwurst on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut, grilled onions, and a little bit of this reddish colored mustard on the side.
I need to go to the bathroom and freshen up after reading this.
Andromeda Spark wow that sounds delicious! !
I was reading comments and said that sounds like Retrodog! And surprise it is. And now world famous.
What is with people and the saurkraut! I personally find it the most disgusting thing on earth. I like a 'chili dog.' Bun, weiner, cheese, chili, finish it off with sweet relish. Perfect.
