.
Whete is the link for the cleaner for the catylitac converter?
Great info.
Could this cause my car to give off a strong carbon monoxide type of spell when it’s parked on idle or is that an exhaust leak?
I wouldn’t say leak because I’m having the same problem with my 2007 hummer H3 it doesn’t leak it just doesn’t give the full power it needs when it has all of that stuff it loses power to the engine and it makes it waste more gas Bc of it
Gives off sulphur means it’s starting to clog up take it for a good 30 mins drive at 3/4k rpms or higher if needed this should burn all off and clear your converter:)
Thank you. I will try this. The dealer wants almost $3000 to replace catalytic converter and gasket, which I don't have 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I was just quoted $3700 for a 2005 Nissan Frontier. Yeah.... gonna put that down on a new(er) model instead. Prices are ridiculous.
Hey did it work ?? The cataclean
If I delete the dpf will my car start making a black smoke? It's a VW golf mk6 tdi
For 2 years, they made us run around with the human equivalent of a bad catalytic converter
Great post
Can your engine overheat because of this ? Help
Sometimes it does hope this helps
Would burning hair smell be indicative of this issue?
Can inside be damaged if it dropped on a floor ?
I gave a diesel vehicle and have been told my DPF (Diesel particulate filter) needs a clean, is this the same as a catalyitic converter. Do i have both or just one?
Its seperate your car will have both
Can RPM fluctuations occur cause of bad cat??
Mostly because of bad spark plugs
Or ignition coil
I understand now this video was very helpful mines just went out on my 2010 crown vic🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Didn't know youtube allowed good presentations
What I need to know is Can this debris go back up into the motor if it breaks down into a fine powder form on the pre-CAT that’s mounted directly to the exhaust manifold
Never heard of that happening. Even if it’s a cat mounted to a manifold all the pressure is pushing it out of the exhaust
I I’ve codes po430 po420 po153 I have aftermarket headers with K&n CAI but my fuel economy has not dropped I have a heard a quiet hissing sound only on acceleration between 20mph-30mph but the car is hesitant if I try step on the gas then after a second it picks up speed could it maybe be a vaccum leak or exhaust leak and not a bad catalytic converter?
I also have a pO420 code and have very similar symptoms. Accelerating slowly like you said around 20-30 mph you can feel and sometimes hear hesitation. Once im up to speed there are minimal issues. No problem getting to high RPM's or going over a certain speed so im starting to think its not my CAT. Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
@@Etch88 I had mine looked at by a friend who owns a shop and works on mopars for mine he said it was normal because it was the lifters causing that hesitation since the lifters sometimes engage into only 4cyl to save gas and once you step on the gas it try’s to reengage into 8cyl
@@Etch88 He said the only solution to not have that hesitation would be to upgrade to non-MDS lifters so I’ll be getting that with a comp cam soon since the comp cam comes with the non-MDS lifters as a kit
My 89 bronco had a nice rattle. One day I was mowing behind my bronco and found a bunch of honey comb pieces. Sadly no rattle anymore. But the bronco is fine. Now my 2010 Tacoma recently suddenly started smelling like propane. Now I need to replace my catalytic converter :(
I own a 1998 Chevy Silverado Z 71 my catalytic converter’s are completely blown has a check engine light on and rattles every time when I rev and it idols now all that result in the vehicle shutting off by itself without bogging down
I m getting blue smoke from exhaust. Is it because of catalytic
is it the cat if i can hear the tapping and rattling when i barely turn car off
Thought my clutch was going bad but believe it the cat cuz I have p0420 code and 4th and 5th gear has no power above 3g rpm
I have a Chevy impala 2014 I’ve replace spark plug, transmission, throttle body, coils packs, and still have an hesitation issue and misfire, the catalytic converter it’s my last option to change, because it’s been months like this :(
Is the pipe entering the cat suppose to be way hotter then coming out? I can touch the pipe with my bare hands but the front is hot af
I had two go bad and computer didn't flag it
One caught on fire and other was clogged
I replaced it with better one went 25 to about 35
However add wider tires it went back down around 27
Thank you! 😁👍
Funny, cars that were built before catalytic converters never smelled like rotten eggs. Why does a car with them smell like that when they fail? There must be some partial conversion happening so that part of the emissions are converted or a 2 step reaction and only the first step occurs.
My thoughts are leaded versus unleaded
🤔
@@stevegarcia1796 classic cars that don't have them at all don't smell that way even when running on unleaded. 4cycle lawn mowers don't have them either and they they don't have the rotten egg smell.
Thanks 💯
THANKS
What if it is smoking .the converter
PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
If you have a turbo underboost, CHECK YOUR CAT/DPF FIRST.
I've spent THOUSANDS on turbo rebuild, new turbos, boost hoses, turbo actuators, intercoolers, MAF and MAP sensors.
Turns out that my cat is destroyed creating too much back pressure on the turbo. Shaking it sounds like a maraca.
Always check the entire pathway before loading the parts canon.
Can a bad catalytic converter cause spark plugs to keep failing
yeah i just replaced my spark plugs and week later the spark plugs were almost burnt out, cuz the exhaust gases run back to the combustion chamber and expose the spark plugs to heat and burn
@@jackgomez9440 thank you for responding. I've been going through this with my Tahoe for about 2 years, and I have been taking my truck to different shops hoping that someone would get to the bottom of me needing to have my spark plugs , coils and o2 sensors replaced soooo many times. No one never mentioned anything about me needing a catalytic converter until last Dec AFTER I decided to buy another truck.and I didn't believe him because the check engine light didn't bring up a code for it and after having the spark plugs and everything else replaced the truck ran well until the plugs burned out again which only took a few months so now it's just sitting and rotting away.
@@icorp3942 here is an advice never ever take ur car to a mechanic unless u know that the damage needs to take it to him u can use car manuals ,youtube ,ask on reddit ,do anything , try every method u can and even if u couldnt fix it at least u did what u could do , and i hope ur car gets fixed
Great video homie
got a p2423 code this was also a sign of bad cat as well
Is this Jimmy Dart narrating? 🙂
the 4th one happened to me😭 was street racing someone and my car jus didn’t go🥲
Nobody cares acid man
Same to me just embarrassing 😩
I have none of these but thanks
Because of Covid, we all have a bad exhaust.
Interesting
Take the mask off bro
Stop blaming covid for the unscientific, cultish response to covid.
@@gloomweed318 Yeah! ^^
thats why you vote republican!
I had a 2003 Camry and it was burning of oil do you think it was a catalytic converter
No, burning oil is due to worn piston rings, valve seals, or a pcv valve. Burning oil can lead to a failling catalytic converter though.
Can you make a video of how to get one out of an exhaust so I can run it as straight pipes nobody does this video all they have is the same what you have
Someone get this guy some coffee
I change mine and it’s still running rough
Is cleaning with chemical is good?
I see what u did there 😂 lol 😷 I love it! Good one 👍 I love ur channel super awesome
usefull thanks
This video fails to inform people that any brand new\functioning aftermarket hi flow catalytic converter will throw a code because of the unbalanced air to fuel ratio being emitted and not being recognized by the cars cpu.
Welp I guess I'm fixing to be out of pocket $1650.
Way too much , you’re getting ripped off
What about a Dodge journey
You takin a journey to Dodge City?
MINE GOT CUT OFF MY TRUCK, VANDALS STOLE IT AND IT STILL RUNS OK, SO I WILL NOT REPLACE IT EVER...
Will bad cats cause hard starting
All you gotta do is throw the catalytic converter on top of the grill!
