- This is a 1977 Harley Davidson Ironhead
Torque can be applied by a normal person does not require a torque wrench, the torque is 10 lbs
Note when doing this for the first time you may have to readjust when it warms up and also if your lifters are dry it will have to be redone.
Showing you some basics of what and how to tear it down to make thing a bit easier for you in the long run.

Good video--thanks! One way of determining a consistent amount of adjustment among the pushrods is to tighten them up with your fingers, as you've done, and then from that point back off by 1/4 to 1/2 flat. This makes for a slightly looser adjustment . However, his is a good way for ironheads as the adjustment tightens up when the engine warms up.( For aluminum head Harleys, it is the opposite--the adjustment loosens with heat). I may have missed it in the video but this should only be done when the engine is ice cold.

so how do you now that you are tdc on comp stroke with only one pushrod showing?
If you dont know what you are doing, i would advice you to find other videos on how to do this, might save you from effing up your ironhead.
this apply to a 2015, 1690cc hd road king police motorcycle?
Yeah I don’t think the same thing applies to a 2015 road king as it does to a 1977 sportster lol
