The real question is how do they sound? The old school ones sounded good for what they were I had a set in my s10. What I would like to see them bring back is the old school 6x9 & 4x6 of the early 90's the 6x9's pounded crazy hard & the D20 tweeter sounded fantastic...! I had them in 3 different cars/trucks. My hardbody being a standard cab left very little room so I reworked the door panels with a spacer ring and fiberglass to make them fit & wow did they pound:) I would pay good money for a set if I could find a new pair.
I had those 6x9s and they were amazing in my opinion. Had my car broken into and they just took the subs. I ended up just rolling with the 6x9s or long time as they sounded so great.

Guys I've read threw the questions and that there's stickers hiding screws great job of hiding them that way I thought it was glued but thank God it's just stickers and now I can just change out my blown speaker without having to destroy the box because it fits perfect in my truck keep up the great work guys I'm a long time kicker fan I'm 55 years old now and still booming and can't wait till third quarter let's here I want a pair of solo baric X 10S rock on brothers 😎
Had a pair back in the day , they sounded real good one day i decided to take one apart and the inside of the passed radiator was made of cardboard, i couldn't believe that but it sounded great.lol

One thing about kicker is they might not get as low as other subs in There class but they get louder and usley have a harder hitting bass. But most importantly is they will last forever if you take care of them. There probably one of the longest lasting subs there is.
I would say no, that box has the airspace for 1 active sub, that radiator isn't moving as much air as a real sub would. its acting more as a port with resistance.
Can you stach these w/o them going out of phase? One under the trunk floor and one on trunk floor; leaving you most of the usable trunk cargo space. Thanx for the edUmakation LOL
At kicker and crutchfield says it is 48trtp122 1 speaker with a dvc at 2ohm but it looks Like svc but I'm hooking up a rockford fosgate amp and been building systems since 1992 and I don't want to Break the enclosure so 2 ?? Is is this just connect to wire ports to play at 2ohm bc I don't want it at 1ohm is do I wire it at the amp to make it 2ohm ty u guys are awesome 👏
I love my comp rt 12 enclosure I got it right when the pandemic hit. So I fried the coil after a month or 2. Send to kicker they send me a CompRT12 1ohm I slugg it daily with a sealed CompVr 10 sealed as well
Edd Cruz the audio really sucks, bass kind of kills the mic. No shallow sub sound really good in ported and bandpass boxes. The reason you don't see it much, is it kind of defeats the purpose of the shallow mount. Rockfords new T1 shallow woofers come preloaded in a ported box.
I actually watched this video to learn how, and it’s simple. You can see at 0:53 that you have to take off these little plastic covers on the rim to take it off. There’s 4 in total.

I got the 10 inch version along with a jl jx500/1d and it hits pretty hard imo, doesn't shake the shit out of your vehicle, but it's loud and it's a good back massager, it sounds really nice too
incomparable2312 there are stickers over the screw holes. They are the flat panels around the woofer not the beveled ones. Peel off the sticks and you will see the screws

Most people don't know when or why to port a box . Sealed boxes will at some point of excursion be fighting the other speaker at a certain volume level ,wich means that it has limitations in the field of spl. Spl ( sound pressure level) refers to the amount of air that is moving past a certain point . Most people think that you hear bass and that is tru to a small extent . In the bass world it is felt not heard ,spl is the air pressure moving around your body . When you port a box you allow the speaker more room for excursion bc the air can escape the box and not push back on the speaker, thus more air movement ( spl).down side to ported boxes is that the port is considered and built around what frequency response of the intended music to be played . Thus means it will only perform at it's best in that hertz frequency and not so well at any other . It's like tuning a carb on a car if you will .
I think the cvt sounds way better i have the 10rt in my 2016 tacoma im a real bass head so the rt is not enough I'm going to try an L7T shallow 12 inch with a boss 4000 armor mono block amp i think that will definitely be more to my liking. imo go with the L7 shallow if you want to rock the block.

@@DADDY2800 I tried a re mono amp 1000.1 and it was good but needed more power I was looking for a bigger re amp but ended up getting a skar mono amp for my set up it is a 1500 rms. They sound really good.

Phoenix gold have gone the same way. I have a feeling one slim 8” JL sub in their 5” deep box would sound better.

The 8 inch box has PLENTY of kick for my Tacoma and fits in the factory location (with 5 Star Magic). Highly recommend!

You could put 2 active subs in their place that use the same liter size box tho. I think some from Hertz will fit them from memory.
I have the 10” 2ohm and it blew a voicecoil with a alpine 450x1 amp that puts out the rated 400w rms at 2ohm.
Yes it is possible. Power is not the only thing that can blow speakers, distortion can blows speakers also.

julio bello probably not at this point. They are broken in to there current box. Changing it my hurt them more then help them.

If you want big bass you need to stay away from shallow subs and boxes. They're designed to save space and have compromises.

Why not use down firing speakers... different from angled straight forward speakers..

The cone on the radiator is weighted much differently than the cone & dustcap on the actual subwoofer. Different design for different applications.

Fidel Torres you will probably want the 2ohm. That way a pair will be 1 ohm at the amp. The Rockford r750.1 would work

500 watts RMS, you'd just have to find an amp that can run that at 2 ohms if you get the 2 ohm variant, and likewise for the 4 ohm variant
