I have an obvious lump in my throat, I cough constantly, have to sleep upright as I cannot breathe, and a constant sore throat....yet I am diagnosed with thyroiditis and no medical intervention needed. You have given me a new lease on finding a new GP or if there is one, a specialist in finding out what is wrong. Thank you and thank you for educating me :)

Can stress cause hyperthyroidism? Thank you for the information. My doctor gave me carbimazole and didn't explain anything. When i asked him roughly how long i will need to take them, he replied "don't ask me, only god knows". Made me feel so little and helpless.

At the moment I cute down with gluten and stop consuming dairy products. Reduce inflation in your body with diet. Green veggie, fruits. If you can check ashwaganda and glutathione. I take them both and I have seen alot of changes. Because if you dye your hair some hair dyes interact with the medication and will cause hair loss. Happend to me

My doctor diagnosed me with Hyperthyroidism with bloodwork and also had a sonogram done on my neck BUT... I'm not at all sensitive to heat. I'm the complete opposite...I'm FREEZING all the time which is more like Hypothyroidism...yet she says that's not what I have...I just started 2.5 mg of methimazole once a day and go back in 6 weeks for more blood work...I guess only time will tell if this helps my freezing symptoms.
At least with me, the heat sensitivity didn't make me feel cold, if I went out on a hot day, I felt very hot and as Graves got worse, I started to get nauseous if I went out on a hot day.

Very informative but i have no faith in my doctor's had blood test for under active thyroid after he put me on levothyroxine 150, which only took 50 and he tells me All my blood work was good how that works i don't know i don't think I have any thyroid problems

I have been diagnosed with thyrotoxicosis and I have a prescription for Carbimazole. However, I am worried about taking this because my research claims that it will cause excessive weight gain and perhaps even obesity. I also want to know what happens if you start taking the medication and then stop. Does your body return to pre-medication state or are the effects of carbimazole irreversible? Thank you in advance.
The thyroid doesn't make T3 hormone. It only makes T4. T3 which is T4 minus one iodine atom, is created by other organs in the body, such as the liver.
Its a bitch I got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and graves disease 3 years ago, I just had surgery 2 weeks ago for a total thyroidectomy and found out i also had thyroiditis, its been hell thank goodness I've had a husband that didn't take things personally

Unfortunately most GP are not good help when it comes to thyroid.

I too have Graves and I feel the cold some people do not have that symptom I'm told.
@@alisonbates4186 I have graves. I feel the cold but can heat up if warm. No hand tremors. Been on meds for 3 weeks.

Carbimazole is quite harsh on the liver and Carbimazole can have negative impact on T cells. Agrunolocitosis.

i have hyperthyroidism and i eat so much food and still losing weight i hate it. i hope if i take carbimazole i will finally gain weight

my thyroid is enlraged and they not treat me. They only give me Propanolol. My knees hurt. I feel horrible. Is this right to take only Propanolol ?
