Glad to see you working safe now, especially when working alone. A dangerous part of life is when you are young, strong and agile, you feel invincible. When you think about the family that loves and depends on you, it suddenly hits you how devastated their lives would be if you were injured or worse. All a part of the responsibility of family life young man! God bless you and your family!

But there is only "one" per touch point, is that enough with the weight of the log and boards and such bearing down on them?

As a retired Certified Safety Professional I appreciate your presentation to the world on fall protection safety. I personally had several employees saved by proper fall protection. As a suggestion twin retractable lanyards (6ft) are available and you may find those to be much less in your way while working plus they can always be kept tight against your anchorage point which will give you a greater security. Beautiful build I love your show! Marc, Ohio USA

MCG CSP Marc another thing he needs to think about is if he does fall, he should have another person with him to help him down. If he got knocked out he could be hanging in a dangerous position for hours before his father found him. I work for a construction company and they required us to take the Oscar 30.

I too got scared at time watching you jumping like an agile squirrel on those wet logs on a rainy day. God bless you, your wife, little girl and dad. You are all awesome, inspirational and a sure sign of hope and humanity in this world that seem at times so harsh until, like you, we focus on and do what’s good and beautiful and keep evils thoughts and peoples at bay. I was so happy to see that you purchased a harness to protect yourself. I was concerned many times. I appreciate you as a husband and father as I understand how hard it is to look after your family day in and out, so having this cabin for a break from your normal routine is very good for your mind and soul. My husband looks after me and although I know it is hard on him he doesn’t complain and still smiles and jokes with me. We are retired now which I think makes caring for our partner a little easier to bear, than when you are young, but love is a wonderful thing to give us the endurance to last the years. I pray your wife has many good days ahead and that her health continues to improve with time. God bless you and your family. Please stay safe and strong.

I watch another YT channel by a young man in Russia. He uses a short army shovel to peel the bark off of trees. The bark just slides off like butter...maybe you could try? The harness was such a good idea...Smart Wife you have there (hope her health is stable). I realized I was holding my breath when you are up that high. So excited to see the roof closed to being finished. I have watched you since the beginning and it has been one of my favorite pastimes. I like to snack or have tea ready before I hit play. As someone who has used safety harnesses for years, I have discovered the glorious invention of the retractable cable "yo-yo" instead of the standard tie-off straps. They don't get in the way because they retract and extend as you move around. Drastically reducing the burden of moving your tie-off point as frequently. Not sure if you would use it enough to justify buying one but to anyone reading the comments that uses harnesses on a regular basis, it's great.

I love how Mr. Outsider takes suggestions from his viewers to heart, and especially from his wife. Good job on finally getting that safety harness! It was my first time seeing how a tree bark comes off, and I find it so satisfying (pardon me, I live in a tropical country where no cedars grow). And it's nice to see Sr. Outsider just wearing shirt & jeans..I suppose you're all having a good summer! Can't wait for the cabin to finish. Take care!

So glad you got a harness! A friend of mine was putting on a roof without a harness back in his 20's and fell off. He suffered several broken bones and a crushed pelvis and they had to put metal plates in. He has been suffering ever since and now is in his late 50's and hating Life.

Safety harness is good. I fell off my roof 15 feet onto concrete. I have been out of work since. You never plan to get hurt, but that is why they are called accidents. Stay safe.

I AM VERY HAPPY YOU FINALLY HAVE A HARNESS!!!!!!!! Yes they are a pain to deal with, but you get used to it in a very short time, and considering how short of a time it takes for an accident to happen, having a proper fall arrest harness like the one you have, it takes a bit longer than a fall does, to change the outcome for the better. Thank You for getting the harness!!!!!!!!!!
WOW, it's amazing how 1/2 of the Sheathing makes the cabin look more like a home and less like your playing Jenga in the woods. It's truly great to see the roof finally coming to its finishing, it's been a long time coming. I started watching the channel when you were adding the course under the window frames, and unless I'm wrong I think you said then that it was over a year at that point since you started the build? So I think it's now been over 3 years since you started the build of the cabin??? The roof has been a long time coming!!!!! Great to see it finally coming to fruition. Hopefully you'll be able to move in just before the first snow or shortly thereafter.
    Peace, Happiness, Love and Laughter,
    Keep Safe All,
    -Matt

Thanks for wearing your PPE. The safety glasses are the most important. No one can see out of a glass eye. Your wife, daughter, father, and grandparents all depend on you now. Don't let them down by not working safely. Love and prayers to all of your clan.
