I think the biggest item on my wishlist is not necessarily a new suit, but an update to the Spider-Verse suit for Peter. Lower frame rate, comic book effects, that stuff. I'd also like to see a more comic accurate version of 2099 with the tattered web cape and black instead of blue.
You can do the lower frame rate and comic book effects already I believe, I do really want the cape on the 2099 suit though but the suit is pretty much blue. Its true color is black but it is meant to look like a shade of blue
The What If? Flash became Spider-Man story is legitimately one of the best Spider-Man stories in a long time. It goes super deep into Flash's comic origins and pays homages to his character at the time, while still feeling like a modern and fresh rehash of Spidey's origin. It's also a great spin on the "hero learns a lesson by losing someone" trope that I think is fairly accurate to the portrayal of not just Peter and Flash, but other characters like Jameson, Aunt May, and Uncle Ben
Man, that customizable Spider-suit idea is really cool! I don't think it's necessarily likely, but I'd love to see something like that make it's way into the game!
Cool to see I'm not the only one with the idea for costume components. I'd love to be able to interchange the Raimi suit's colors/logos/lense size with the 2002 version, I just prefer it way more over the 2004 tweaks
The semi-customizable suit gimmick has to be one of the best ideas you've ever had and the coolest thing Insomniac could apply. In a community that wholeheartedly loves the classic suit but has their own preferences for details for it, this would be a real treat for us.
I pretty much want every Ben Reilly suit possible. Plus if they made peters hair blonde that would be perfect. P.S. Ben doesn’t deserve what happened to him in the beyond series.
What pisses me off most about Ben's character assassination is how they backpedaled on the 90s Clone Saga. Like, Ben going, "I'm just a clone, so I'm expendable." That's bullshit. The Clone Saga had this one ending page (for Vol. 1) where the narration describes Ben's thoughts as, "He now knows that it does not matter whether he was born of science - or of nature - but rather, that he *is* his own person" or something like that. Like, holy shit. That was beautiful. It's like Mewtwo's "Circumstances of one's birth" line. And now, two and a half decades later, the authors are instead just like, "Nope. He's a clone. Not a person. Clones can't be their own people, they have to be expendable counterparts of their donor." How were we so much better at the ethics of human clones back in the 90s? And then they have the balls to 'apologize' and immediately backpedal on the apology by trying to justify their decision as "Ben has no place in Spider-Man lore, and you are all wrong to like him as his own character. Go read some Peter, Miles, Gwen, Cindy, Miguel, Eddie, Otto, or Kaine, or that one Aunt May four-way sex drama you fucking heathens." (There may have been some light interpretation there)

If I had to guess, insomniac probably decided against underarm webbing/web capes in the first game due to maybe iffy cloth/cape simulation physics? Maybe during swinging in development, they ran into crazy physics glitches where the webs stretch across the map and freak out. ruclips.net/video/80DETakFT2E/видео.html (like this) Hopefully, they’ll have that taken care of for Spider-Man 2. Maybe they’ll even animate facial expressions and eye movements so that way we can maskless Peter/Miles suits. But yeah, I’d also love webcapes and a webwingsuit glider mobility feature. Long story short, they dropped all the potential that plot had, straight up forgot his character and his morals that have been established in many previous books, kinda erased his memory and he's now going to be Peter's new Arch Nemesis. Named Chasm. They made Ben a villain and i couldn't be angrier. I was okay when they made him Jackal for a bit cause he's had it rough but marvel seems dead set on making him a villain and I'm not for it, but to those who enjoy this angle, I am pleased and happy for you
Liking and rewatching this video to make it pop off and reach insomniac head quarters, because your ideas are simply great: the suits fit in, the idea of a contest gives us fans chances to show our skills and I'm a sucker for the customizable spiderman suit.
I love your idea about having a custom classic suit because there are so many variations of the classic suit that could take up spots on the suit list, so just giving players customization options would remove a large majority of requests and let Insomniac add somewhat more obscure suits.
The Spider-Man suit I'd want the most is a PS1 styled suit, as a reference to the first 3D Spider-Man game, but it might be difficult since Activision made the PS1 game

If we do get the Sensational suit, I hope the logos match the secondary color of the suit. Whenever it's drawn with black logos while the rest of the suit is blue, the torso can look way too boxy. This problem is usually avoided when Spidey's body is drawn with broad shoulders and a strong t-shape (like Bagley, Jurgens, etc.), but the insomniac model doesn't have enough shoulder width to support it. If you look at fan edits of the suit on the model, the design seems a little... awkward. However, if the logos match the secondary color of the suit, the design flows MUCH better since the torso no longer looks like a rectangle lmao. Given how inconsistent the coloring of the logos are anyway, it would still be accurate to a lot of the source material As for other suits, the Unlimited suit is definitely one of my favorites of all time, but like the Sensational suit, it relies on a lot of specific conditions for it to really shine. It would certainly be a tough nut to crack, but I have faith Insomniac could do a good job with it. As a side note, one black suit I absolutely need to see is the Spider's Shadow suit. The pincers are such a nice touch, and I'm surprised we never got a suit with them sooner! You'd think spider pincers would be an obvious inclusion lmao

I think that for SM2 having a separate menu for unique symbiote suits might be more work than just a simple texture swap, which is what I assume they're doing if they are in fact including symbiote variants of the regular suits

I agree with the web wings, but also how cool would it be to add in a gliding mechanic or a suit mod that allowed you to actually glide with the web wings in a smooth way? I feel like that would add a lot of fun to the traversal and it seems like something that insomniac would do since their whole thing is making their games feel more fluid.
About the custom spider-man costume, I think it would be really difficult to program a slider for the thickness of the web pattern because not all of the squares on the costume are in the same shape and size. It would be easier to just make a few different web patterns and give the player an option to choose between them.
i like the idea of a custom classic spiderman suit, almost feeds into the idea that anyone could be spiderman under the mask, whether it be peter or YOU which has always mad him a likable and relatable character
I agree with the web wings argument it's so small and pointless and yet it elivates the style of a spider-man suit 10 fold like most heroes have capes and they're big stoic icons, but spider-man, even though he's one of those most popular heroes ever, is a kid from queens and instead of standing tall, he's also in a sort of crouching pose, so it makes sense that he has something flowy, but not a cape
I love the idea of making the classic suit being the avenue to a create-your-own, especially the webbing slider. McFarlane suit would be first up for me

Something i want to say is that, in universe, peter classic suit had underarm web, but he removed it because they were pointless, and i think the removed flowy objects because maybe at the time they couldn't put it, maybe in the ps5 they can.
My top picks are Sensational Spider-Man, Superior Spider-Man and the Alex Ross suits. I love all three. Also, I like the idea of having two costume menus, one for classic suits and another for the black suit variants we could see.
I seriously just want an amazing spiderman two suit and I want them to let you switch spiderman voices so Garfield or whomever can be the voice for spiderman at least Tobey and Andrew at least. And I do hope they add the spectacular spiderman suit.
The amazing Spider-Man 2 suit would work but the voice actors for the live action characters being an option wouldn’t work and just wouldn’t make sense. It would cost a ton to make the actors do voices in the games and the actors probably wouldn’t be interested. It wouldn’t make sense because one of the main selling points for the game is it’s not inspired from a movie of directly taken from a comic, it’s an original Spider-Man story. It’s Insomniac’s Spider-Man so it wouldn’t make sense to give the ability to change the voice to other versions of the character. Also imagine be Yuri Lowenthal and working hard to voice act for a character you care about just for people to replace your acting with random Spider-Man actors that would be added strictly for nostalgia. Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire doing optional voices for the character would literally never happen.
They only said they would have a symbiote version of every costume but they did not say they would incorporate it with the regular version itself. So i think what you said in the video is whats gonna happen.

A spider suit that I would love to see is the Superior Spiderman Suit.
I think that for SM2 having a separate menu for unique symbiote suits might be more work than just a simple texture swap, which is what I assume they're doing if they are in fact including symbiote variants of the regular suits
I feel like the customizable suit could add a fun collection mini game, like the backpacks in the first game. I love those collection tasks, so it'll be great for me lol

The custom suit for Spiderman can be inspired by Sonic Forces where you can create your own Sonic character, that would definitely be a great addition

I agree with the web wings, but also how cool would it be to add in a gliding mechanic or a suit mod that allowed you to actually glide with the web wings in a smooth way? I feel like that would add a lot of fun to the traversal and it seems like something that insomniac would do since their whole thing is making their games feel more fluid.

About the custom spider-man costume, I think it would be really difficult to program a slider for the thickness of the web pattern because not all of the squares on the costume are in the same shape and size. It would be easier to just make a few different web patterns and give the player an option to choose between them.
I think they should keep all previous suits but add new ones to them as well

i like the idea of a custom classic spiderman suit, almost feeds into the idea that anyone could be spiderman under the mask, whether it be peter or YOU which has always mad him a likable and relatable character

it's so small and pointless and yet it elivates the style of a spider-man suit 10 fold
like most heroes have capes and they're big stoic icons, but spider-man, even though he's one of those most popular heroes ever, is a kid from queens and instead of standing tall, he's also in a sort of crouching pose, so it makes sense that he has something flowy, but not a cape

Something i want to say is that, in universe, peter classic suit had underarm web, but he removed it because they were pointless, and i think the removed flowy objects because maybe at the time they couldn't put it, maybe in the ps5 they can.
My top picks are Sensational Spider-Man, Superior Spider-Man and the Alex Ross suits. I love all three.
Also, I like the idea of having two costume menus, one for classic suits and another for the black suit variants we could see.

The amazing Spider-Man 2 suit would work but the voice actors for the live action characters being an option wouldn’t work and just wouldn’t make sense. It would cost a ton to make the actors do voices in the games and the actors probably wouldn’t be interested. It wouldn’t make sense because one of the main selling points for the game is it’s not inspired from a movie of directly taken from a comic, it’s an original Spider-Man story. It’s Insomniac’s Spider-Man so it wouldn’t make sense to give the ability to change the voice to other versions of the character. Also imagine be Yuri Lowenthal and working hard to voice act for a character you care about just for people to replace your acting with random Spider-Man actors that would be added strictly for nostalgia. Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire doing optional voices for the character would literally never happen.
