Small Correction: Skyward Sword Link is actually refered to as the "The Chosen Hero" directly a couple times making that title just as offical as "The Hero of The Sky'.
I just call ALBW the Hero of Walls. For the original Four Swords Link, there's nothing saying he can't inherit the title of the previous Hero of the Four Sword. You could also call MC Link Hero of the Picori. SP Link may not have a "Hero" title, but He is the/a Royal Engineer.
I think the "Hero of the Four Sword" referred to in Four Sword's intro is probably Minish Cap Link, who reforged the Picori blade into the Four Sword. Also the idea of calling Link Between Worlds Link "New Hero of Hyrule", and Spirit Tracks Link "Hero of New Hyrule" is very funny to me, and I think I'll do that from now on 😂
While it's certainly possible that MC Link and The Hero of the Four Sword are the same, the details don’t quite line up for Minish Cap to be the events referenced in the prologue. Vaati had kidnaped multiple girls before the Hero of The Four Sword unlike in Minish Cap where he just kidnaps Zelda, and The Hero of The Four Sword sealed Vaati within the sword, while MC Link seemingly killed Vaati.
Technically if the four sword which used to be the Picori Blade and became the Four Sword at the end of the game and became sealed away until Four Swords iirc. Shouldn't that make Minish Cap Link the hero of the Four Sword if the title belonged to the last Link who used it?
The Hero of The Four Sword and MC Link are probably not the same. Vaati had kidnaped multiple girls before the Hero of The Four Sword stopped him unlike in Minish Cap where he just kidnaps Zelda, and The Hero of The Four Sword sealed Vaati within the sword, while MC Link did not. Hyrule Historia also classifies them separately.
Since when did the Oracles Link and ALttP Link become different? A Google search says it's only a theory/mistranslation that they're different and that's all the research I'm bothered to do right now.
I was going off of the official Zelda Encyclopedia for my list of links. Personally, from a lore perspective I don’t actually think they’re different people but since they were categorized separately and both had something to talk about, I split them up for this video.
In the updated timeline there is a noticeable gap between Link's Awakening and the Oracle games. Games that share the same Link have a very small distance between each other while Oracle has the same distance as a game that stars an unrelated Link would have. In addition, it's absolutely nonsensical for them to be the same Link. Not only do they look nothing alike, but Link does not know Zelda in the Oracle games before he meets her. You should really be more concerned with why Link and Zelda developed amnesia between Link's Awakening and the Oracle games than a supposed mistranslation issue.
I am aware that’s the official stance currently but as Zelda Encyclopedia says there are multiple ways to interpret the lore. Looks don't matter as we can see with LBW and TFH. Zelda only phiscally met Link a few times in LTTP and in the oracle games she DOES recognize him. Quote from the game “My name is Zelda. You are Link, right? I knew it at first glance.” That’s a perfectly reasonable way of introducing yourself to someone you’ve only met a couple times and haven’t seen in a while. The reason I believe they're the same isn't a translation thing, the linked end of the Oracle games explicitly references Link’s Awakening with him getting on the exact same raft as seen in the opening of that game.
