I like this theory so much because before the Eshop closure, there was screenshots of the game showed the icons of Red and Blue names one the bottom touch screen. There names are: Red: Talon Blue: Ralph I’m honestly not sure if this is a coincidence or intentional because this theory reminded me of those screenshots. Sadly the Eshop closed so we might not be able to see it again :(
Those were just easter eggs. There has been footage out there of official gameplay where they had other familiar names like Marin or Malon, and even Holly. I think Zelda might've been one of them too. And I pretty sure there were a bunch of others. I think they only had those names as fun references because there were so many of them that were used.
@@brosephlacasquevtuber I can vouch for that comment, the names are shown in this trailer: ruclips.net/video/HHiHmsK6lcw/видео.htmlsi=Q8hDZzViRX5Q0fEr Honestly, it was insane stumbling upon your video, because I kid you not, I posted on reddit months ago about a headcanon I had about the Blue Triforce Hero being named Ralph because of that specific trailer, and I went with the idea that the TH Ralph might be related to OFA Ralph given both are a generation apart.
Real cool to know! Even if this isn't confirmation that the other two Links are connected to the Oracle games/Malon etc, it does tell us that Nintendo asked themselves the same question "ok so who are these other two Links" and came up with many of the same possible answers Broseph did, so that's gotta count for something...
1:21 Apparently, they did consider having Purple Link in the game! However, it was cut down to just three Links during development because, and I quote, “A four-player totem was too tall.”
@@BLOODY__FATALITY I wish that wasn't a limit, lol I tried playing it with a friend but there were only two of us I wish it was handled like Four Swords Adventures and you could play with any number between 1 and 4. Any Links missing a player in those games just followed another Link, and you could even pick them up to steal them from another player Probably even easier in Tri-Force Heroes since there are no formations. You just have doppels kinda vibing that you can switch to. There was no reason to limit it to 1 or 3 players
@@Billyblue98 The thing I like about Four Swords Adventures is while it's nice to play it with friends, there's also benefits to playing on single player such as being able to use either a GBA or GameCube controller and the formation system, especially the diamond formation that covers all four directions and they even do a large spin attack together.
My favorite part of Zelda lore is the idea that just holding a sword straight out and spinning in a circle is some kind of mindblowing technique that only someone blessed by the gods could hope to achieve.
from what I'm told, the spin attack is a terrible move irl. one on one, you are turning your back on your enemy, and against multiple opponents, your blade will loose all momentum on the first hit maybe the secret technique is not the spin, but rather the ability to go against all tactical logic and somehow making it work
I literally cannot emphasize enough how badly i want that "Legend of Hilda" idea to happen. I think it's really dumb of Nintendo to completely ignore the 2D games, despite the fact that they are really good and sell pretty well, and Ravio is my favorite character in the series. So Nintendo needs to get on that NOW.
Yeah, unfortunately, Nintendo has a REALLY bad habit with Zelda of having really great ideas and never revisiting, developing or fleshing them out (Termina, Twilight Realm, Lorule, Holodrum/Labrynna, and various items and races that only show up once). Best chance we have is a fangame or romhack.
My head canon for the hair color is that the three Links are required to be linked together by a spell to use the Triforce teleporters, and the spell is what makes their hair different colors, the colors associated with courage, wisdom, and power. This is why all three players share the same hearts, can look at another player's perspectives who's on the other end of the map (tap and hold their icon on the bottom screen), and why all three players need to stand together to teleport to the next area. This may or may not change the color of their clothes too since it does from our perspective as the players, or maybe you're just playing as the other Links when you're not the lobby host. To start a lobby you need to talk to the old man, and after a strange chant your hair turns green while you wait for other heroes to show up and be linked to you through the spell This also explains how the doppels work, they're wooden statues made to look like the hero, and by using a different but similar linking spell, one hero's soul can be linked to the doppels, letting him move his soul between them and take turns controlling each one. You can literally *see* Link's soul leave his body and fly towards the doppels when you change characters. This is also why you can't control multiple doppels at once like you can in Four Swords Adventures with the formations in single player, or even like in Four Swords Anniversary Edition where you can have your second Link follow you around. In these games the four Links are just the same Link split apart. His body is duplicated (or even c̴̔͜l̵͈͂o̶̯̾n̵̬̑ë̸̘́d̶͙̐ you could say) and his soul is split into four and can be in four different places at the same time. But Triforce Heroes' Link only has his one intact soul that can only be in one place at once. If he isn't lucky enough to find his long lost t̵͔̂w̶͈͋i̷̟̓ṇ̸͝s to link together with, he just has to link together with the doppels instead and juggle his soul around controlling each one individually
I would love a map theory on places outside Hyrule’s main continent. Also, on an unrelated note, if they do make a Triforce Heroes 2, they could bring back Purple Link as Ravio or something, whatever. I just need my Purple Link back 😢
I've been thinking about this myself and locations are hard to do because Nintendo doesn't really point them out. The only thing they really talked about is that Hytopia from this game is the actual playable area of Zelda 2 since it canonically takes place in the same area, Hytopia is North of Hyrule, Zelda 2 takes place north of Hyrule and the Island Link travels too in Zelda 2 is connected in some way too Hytopia. That's why the villagers are dressed nice as well. As for Holodrum and Labrynna it's up in the air as to their location, it's close enough Hyrule for Zelda to visit but far enough away for it not to be seen on the map. New Hyrule is a definite mystery as it took Link and Tetra a year to find it making this planet either way bigger than it seems or they just goofed off going in circles for a year 😂. I'd love a definitive world map but that will never happen because even if we make something, we don't know everything.
It is funny how the origins of those Links fit well since the developers probably didn't take the story of Tri Force Heroes too seriously and the Oracle games were largely written as stand alone.
You talking so much about the Oracle games only makes my desire for remakes on modern hardware stronger, especially since the originals were before my time
The OGs are on NSO. And while I wouldn't mind some QoL improvements and combining them into a single package, the originals hold up just fine. And they even have rewind and save states available if you feel the need. Some of my favorite games are "before my time"
Apparently Nayru and Ralph are implied to be married with 3 kids during the credits of the Oracles Games' linked ending. My guess is that "straight up required" is the most likely for Oracles to find someone so that the power continues to exist or something like that, with "highly encouraged" being second place in terms of chances, if we go with the interpretation that the oracle's power is a bloodline thing.
@@darkdagger5237 That wouldn't necessarily preclude them from being part of a bloodline of shrine maidens that inherit a spiritual power from their ancestor though.
I always accepted the canon answer: they are all LBW Link. That would mean Hitopia is some weird Termina-esque realm, but that’s nothing new. That said, your theory is much better.
I think their philosophy is that YOU play as the "real Link" but everyone else is some "other Link". But it says that to everyone so nobody feels left out. Also, Hytopia is very much implied to be a physical location on Hyrule's plane of existence given how many sources specifically state that it's "North of Hyrule"
@@brosephlacasquevtuber What would those sources be exactly? I only know that it's related to Hyrule as a neighboring. I haven't actually seen anything stating that it's North. That maybe just Hytopia, but one thing I always thought was likely was that the Drablands were east of Hyrule since there's an active volcano on the opposite side of the map of where Death Mountain usually is. Implying that the Drablands are east and the volcanic region is connected to Death Mountain. This of course would be before the land splits and the Drablands likely became the southern part of East Hyrule in Zelda II. Which makes perfect sense since the location of the Den of Trials (where you fight the Dark/Shadow Links) matches up perfectly with where the Great Palace/Temple is located in the Southern East Hyrule in Zelda II. Also, as for Hytopia, I remember seeing someone post a theory about Hytopia being the canon version of Calatia, the kingdom where Zelda I and II Link is from in the old comics. And according the comics, Calatia was west of Hyrule, not North. Maybe Hytopia is only North of the Old Hyrule down south? And assuming it is the canon version of Calatia that would be Northwest. Or maybe Hytopia is was eventually became the North Castle in Zelda II. Now that you have me thinking about this stuff, this gives me some interesting ideas of how the events of the TFH era leads into the events of the first two games era.
Well, I know the Zelda Encyclopedia specifically says Hytopia is North of Hyrule. I know people have their issues with that book, but it is the only source of word-of-God statements on this particular game. I thought I had also seen it somewhere on the old website or a developer interview, but I may be mistaken there. Regardless, I am inclined to think Hytopia Castle may just be the North Castle from Zelda 2. It also does suggest a connection between the Drablands and Zelda 2's valley of Death, but that's a lot less concrete.
This was an amazing video! I’ve thought about this topic a lot and while I think the other Links being from Labryina and Holodrum is more likely, I’d like to propose another idea that I've thought about. The other Links might be from Termina and the World of the Ocean King. First, we know from the Fierce Deity Armor that there had to have been some interaction between Hytopia and Termina. Same thing with the Linebeck Uniform and the world of the ocean king. Second, this would explain the whole pointed ears thing as both Terminians and Ocean-Kingians have pointed ears. And finaly, its worth noting is that each Link is assigned a voice based on different games in the series which kind-of matches up with each dimension, but that's not the strongest evidence. LBW Voice- Hyrule WW/ST Voice- Ocean King Oot/MM Voice- Termina
Well, one thing is Nintendo just really likes cute references without considering their consequences. So I tend to disregard that kind of thing unless there's a really good reason not to. Otherwise BotW and TotK get darn near impossible to make sense of. And TFH is purposefully silly, so I can't lend such things too much credence. Also Linbeck has a descendant who lives in New Hyrule, so it doesn't have to be the Ocean King's realm. It could instead be heroes from the Child and Adult timelines. But regardless, I didn't really consider any parallel worlds or parallel timeline stuff because there is no mention of that kind of thing within TFH. Otherwise, this game would be a focal point for "Timeline Convergence" proponents. I DO rather like the voice point tho. That's kind of a fun observation. But overall, glad you enjoyed!
These are a really interesting set of theories! I love when the lesser loved games like Triforce Heroes and the Oracle duology (or basically any of the handheld games) are referenced and included in theories. People often forget about all the other locations outside of Hyrule and how a greater Zelda world affects these theories as a whole. Loving this content 😁😁
Okay so I just saw Ralph and Maple's official arts for the first time, and wow that's absolutely not the way their pixel arts made me think they looked like.
Interesting take on the identities of the two other Links. I was surprised to hear that Nintendo thought that the 3 Links that you play as are all Link (in their case all three are the same Link from ALBW). Now the only way that can make sense is if there are multiverse shenanigans occuring, probably have something to do with the Triforce Gate and the Match Master in some way. But when looking closely at how multiplayer stuff works I think this is more likely. Players can have other players join their game and players can also join other players’ games. This can be done either through local play, download play, online play with friends, or online play with random players. Players can blacklist other players by the way. For those who own their own copy of TFH they are their own main Green Link, but also have the option to join other players’ games and become either Red or Blue Link in whatever game the players join. It’s not only those two people who can play as Red and Blue Link but literally anyone can be Red and Blue Link, and Green Link on their own terms unless you're playing through download play. Links have their own Hytopia they go to and can visit other Links Hytopia’s, I feel like the only way this makes sense is that there is a multiverse at play where all these Links are experiencing the same adventure at the same time and can crossover into each other's realities, likely because of the Match Master. To note, these different universes all still share the same events that occur on the timeline, I think these individual universes are the player's own universe, the only thing that really changes between universes is how the player plays the games, no branching timelines either. I believe this is who the Red and Blue Links are: Links that come from an infinite amount of other players’ universes (who are also their own Green Link) to help each other out. Also I think the 3 Links are becoming doppels when coming together in multiplayer mode. In single player mode you use these puppets called doppels to take control of the Red and Blue Links, and there is a green doppel when taking control of another doppel, in order to enter the Drablands. That could also explain their hair color changes (even their clothes too). If not then at least their souls are bound together (they all share the same health bar like with the doppels) through a similar spell like with Link binding with the doppels. I found it odd that the kingdom of Hytopia were insistent on the prophecy of the three TriForce Heroes and their three courageous attributes to save them from the Drablands Witch but only 1 Link shows up and that's enough for them to send him to save the day. As well having doppels on hand for Link to use if he doesn’t bring 2 others with him. The Red and Blue Links don’t even show up at the end of the game celebration. Frankly I find Hytopia to be rather suspicious. For example, in the Japanese website for the game it's said that some of the outfits contain the souls of those skilled in the ability that the costume gives, such as the Spin Attack Attire, the Sword Suit, the Kokiri Clothes, and the Zora Costume. But what about outfits such as Linebeck’s Uniform or the Legendary Dress which is clearly Zelda dress from ALttP and ALBW. Is her soul in that dress? Even weirder is that her snow angel can be seen as a scenic sight in one of the Ice Cavern levels. Very interesting. Anyway those are my thoughts on the matter.
first of all “the legend of hilda” is something i never thought of before but now i need it, secondly, i’d love to see a follow-up to the map video!! i really enjoy your videos and want more
15:15 This map threw my attention to the possibility if these lands being flooded in Wind Waker and might not have gotten a warning from the gods, or an explanation why. 🤔
this game had a big part of my childhood, and yes i get it im still quite young (im 15) but i got this game on my first 3ds at a nearby gamestop and i just remeber playing it nonstop
Ohh, I'd love another map video on the non-hyrule games, absolutely! As long as it's something you want to do as well, of course. In the meantime, I'm here to watch whatever else you cook up! These are some neat theories on this game that I wouldn't have even considered COULD be connected lore-wise.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think it's something I want to do. But there are definitely other thing's I would like to do first. I'd like a little more time to establish myself as more than "The Map Theory Guy" or "Another Zelda Theory Guy", you know? Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
@@brosephlacasquevtuberyour map video was a solid first attempt using breath of the wilds map as a framework to piece the map together was good identifying that load screens could be a longer distance than the time it takes to load was good now factor in the compass placing north as north every time and factor in world changing events most of these maps are hundreds of years apart and most are also timelines apart solid first attempts to solve the zelda map are rare and I've never seen anyone actually make a second attempt I hope all this helps if you want to take another shot at solving the map
Something I realized after replaying the oracle games more recently... If you start with Ages, the Pirate captain travels by ship from the Labrynna seas to Holodrum, so they might be two separate continents. And I think the postgame for both (in the A scenario) has one of the oracles mention Impa taking a ship to the other game's region and ask if something's happening there.
My head canon has always been that Triforce heroes takes place in Lino’s dream. Kind of like the western version of super Mario bros 2. That made sense to me just because of how weird the game is, but you’ve actually given me a lot to think about, amazing video!
Here’s my theory/headcanon for where they each come from. Let’s say one of them is Ralph and Nayru’s descendant from Labrynna, and the other is “Bipsom”’s son or grandson. Now timeline wise I firmly believe Ages precedes Seasons, because the Gorons of Ages describe Link specifically as a “boy”, but as you said with Bipsom’s timeline, Link has to be an adult by the end of the second game. So it has to be Ages -> Seasons, and ergo Bipsom’s family originally hail from Labrynna but settle in Holodrum. Their descendant may very well be one of the Links in TFH. Good theory by the way Broseph!
The ears are attributed to being in tune with Hylia. Hence, Hylians. Possibly extends to some divine trait in general, like the three golden goddesses.
Also, if you pay attention, I believe all the sages in A Link Between Worlds have pointed ears, showing their connection to the divine power of the Sages of old. (With the exception of the Zora sage due to lack of ears, although they could've made her fins a bit pointier than the rest of her people)
Not just Hylia but all of the gods within the god pantheon of the Zelda universe (including the Golden Goddesses). This is proven in Ocarina of Time when Ganondorf grew pointed ears after gaining the Triforce of Power which belongs to Din.
@@brosephlacasquevtuberbundling it with a link between worlds would actually fix the single player problem, with LBW being the single player game in the bundle and TFH being the multiplayer game
It was actually inspired by how the GBA Link to the Past was bundled with Four Sword as a side campaign. Plus, it would make for a more complete package people wouldn't complain as much about paying full price for.
asking the real questions. legit my favorite zelda experience, coop mayhem and bad balanced pvp, infuriating post game challenge to get fierce deity armor, good stuff
Honestly a really well made video and wholesome implications with the satisfying theory you proposed. I like it. Really great editing and the commentary was great too! 😁
Imagine a "Legend of Hilda" game about the time they destroyed their Triforce, where the villain is Demise, and once the Lorule Triforce is gone, he leaves to torment another world.
15:55 I may have joined because of the maps video, but I just like your docusplainer style. Make a documentary on pretty much anything and I will be there for it
In my experience, insisting on your theory despite lack of evidence/reasonable counterpoints is how you make haters. I'd like to avoid that whenever possible, lol.
If I’m being completely honest, you are one of my favorite theorists on this entire website. You never insist that you’re right, constantly second guess and fact check. And always try and use Occams Razor whenever you can. I personally would LOVE to see more theories from you. They all are always well researched and edited to perfection. I got a couple of ideas for ones that I haven’t seen any good videos on yet: .Timeline(echoes of wisdom included) .Locomo history/origins .How many different Dimensions/Realms there are+their origins .Did any of Links Awakening affect the rest of the timeline? And of course map theory part 3 with out of hyrule placements.
Genuinely, thank you! There are a LOT of really great theory dudes on RUclips, so that really specific compliment genuinely means a lot! It really made my day. I do intend to do more Zelda theory and analysis stuff in the future, but I also want to specifically space it out so I don't get too stuck in one category. I have non-theory things I want to talk about. And even some non-Zelda theories I want to do eventually. On the suggested topics, I primarily want to cover topics that interest me personally, and that I haven't seen covered yet or I have a different perspective on. So I am unsure when or if I will get around to some of these topics. But I do have thoughts on Breath/Tears timeline placement, and I will need to address EoW's timeline placement before I do Map theory part 3 (which will eventually happen, but now with a focus on EoW and anything that the TotK Master Works book might bring to light. Realms and dimensions outside Hyrule may have to wait until part 4.)
Fair enough,I will say that a recent theory I saw that was interesting was from The Theorizer on the events that happened post Phantom Hourglass but Pre Spirit Tracks, check it out!
Excited to see if I can apply this video to my headcanon TH Links! OH MY GOODNESS YES YOU HAD THE SAME IDEA AS ME OF INCLUDING THE ORACLE GAME COUNTRIES …Oh my goodness YES WE NEED A LEGEND OF HILDA GAME Anyways, my headcanon personally is that the red link is a hytopian native, while the blue link is from either holodrom or labrynna (and spent a good amount of time in the one they WEREN’T from). Also my version of blue link is a girl because when I played with my brother and his friend I was blue Link.
Glad you enjoyed it! It would be very fun if the TFH Blue Link was this generation's Nayru: the Oracle of Ages on some tomboyish adventure. I'mma stick to what the game presents at face value, but I think a multiplayer game like this would be the best place to introduce a female hero as an option.
@@brosephlacasquevtuber Entirely valid, i know that i am likely the only person on earth who decided to interpret one of the Triforce heroes links as a girl. On a somewhat related note, I’ve been brainstorming ideas for adventures the other links went on-blue girl link (hydro)’s adventure is turning into a sort of third Oracle Game! Though also “tomboyish Oracle nayru of this generation” Is such a fun concept that i might include that somehow Rewatching this video does lead me to feel like Hydro SHOULD be labrynnan
I had a lot of fun playing TriForce Heroes online when it came out. I should try to do it again before all the online stuff shuts down for the 3DS. Same goes for Federation Force.
I've only ever played TFH locally. And IMO, that's the way to do it. As for Fed Force, due to the lack of download play, lack of other people in my life willing to buy 3DS co-op shooters, and how dead the serves have been since it came out, I've only played that one single-player.
These speculation and deep dive videos about a specific topic in a game is some of my favorite RUclips content. I wish I could have enjoyed Triforce heroes more as I loved the goofyness and dress up gimmick but the single player mode is such a sludge to get through. Also there being three canonical unrelated Links at the same time was a trivia I didn’t know. Wild.
Tri Force Hero's is the ONLY main title zelda game that I haven't played alongside Four Swords Adventures. This is a very interesting video especially having not played the game.
I am slowly working my way through it with my brothers, but it and the original GBA Four Sword are the only ones I haven't finished yet. Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hey... dont throw Shade at the hero who's there when shes needed most! Linkle was exactly that, the hero who showed up out of nowhere, saved the kingdom when its fighter's (Link and zelda, off on a dat... i mean putting his sword in a hol...... yea ill stop) and saved Hyrule.... Ravio i dont care, that... that game existed and i can safely ignore it.
Me personally, my own custom lure is that the guy that you talk to the weird wizard man connect you to another link from another dimension hints the different colored hair and that’s why when you’re not connected you were just a plain normal green link
My dream BotW 3 takes place on the North continent from Zelda 2. But an open world map that combines Holodrum and Labrynna, perhaps even with the return of time travel and weather manipulation magic would be sick.
I refuse to believe that green link is the same link from albw, there's so many link drawings that are specifically from that game, that's such strong evidence and yet people just point out "it's just an Easter egg" Great vid
Man this game was so much fun. I want it to see a sequel, port or something. Goofy as hell but so much fun. I was upset that the online has just fallen off not long after launch.
About the ears: while the trait might be genetical, Ocarina implies they represent a connection with the Goddesses. So admirers of the Chosen Hero gaining a "blessing" sounds good (also thank u very much for acknowledging the best games in the series; the Oracles RULE!)
I agree, TFH would have been better with Purple Link. And, at the very least, after BotW and TotK, they need to make Ganon(dorf) take a hiatus. Give Vaati or some new faces a chance to shine without Ganon pulling the rug out from under them at the 11th hour.
Loving your 3 zelda videos! I'm glad you have your own unique art now too. SO you can brand out to other topics! I do so love your zelda topics though 💕
Thanks a lot! I really liked working with the TFH emotes, but I like how this gives me so much more flexibility, even if I did mostly just trace over Link, lol. More Zelda is in the pipeline, but I am going to be spacing it out a bit so as to not paint myself into a corner.
My personal head canon is that the Hero doesn't fully reincarnate, but sends out shards of his soul fused with new souls. If The Hero of Twilight is literally the same guy as the Hero of Time, how could the Hero of Time's Ghost still be lingering around when a new hero has been born? At the same time it also means more than one Link can be born at the same time. All three Links are different fragmental reincarnations of the same guy.
In most religious sects the idea of a continuing lineage for a position doesn't necessarily mean direct descendant. It could just be another person that fits the position and takes the position which still makes an unbroken line of 'oracles' for a sect.
I find it really cool that you had same sort of impression of where the Drablands especially are located as I did. Also, as for the TriForce Heroes, I do believe that they definitely could be descendants of the characters from not only the Oracle games but also Minish Cap. This also fits perfectly with how the other two Links have voices from other games like OoT/MM and all the other Toon Link games as the Oracle games and Minish Cap all have references and nods to both Hero of Time era and the Hero of Winds era. It would explain how and why Hytopia and the Drablands have knowledge and artifacts related to those seen in places like Termina and the World of the Ocean King. Which leads me to my headcanon. Now, I actually believe that TFH is a separate generation of three Links altogether as I don't agree with Zelda Encyclopedia. I'm more of a Hyrule Historia kind of Zelda fanatic where I believe that the Oracle games happen in between ALttP and LA as implied by the linked game ending of the Oracle games. I believe the existence of a third oracle game would've explained the reasons why everything happened as they did in Seasons and Ages. Now back to the TFH era. I personally believe that Green Link is a direct descendant of ALBW Link as he was of ALttP (assuming he made it back to Hyrule after LA). Red Link is hero from Holodrum with a farming/ranch and knighthood hybrid heritage as you speculated. While Blue Link is descended from Ralph. As for the TriForce Heroes of old, I believe those might've been ALBW Link's generation of the TriForce Heroes. This would explain the likely actual connection to the two eras and why the merchant mistakes the Links as the ones from a long time as they would be direct descendants of them. Basically making the idea that the Links in TriForce Heroes are the same Link from ALBW more so a theory or a myth/legend. I want to try to at least acknowledge the official canon as it's confirmed somewhat, as I'm not like other people who tend to just completely ignore what is stated and confirmed altogether just to defend their argument. Now, more on the Terminian and WotOK connection. I believe that while ALBW was happening, the other two Links of that time were having adventures in Termina (Blue) and WotOK (Red). I have Blue in Termina because of an idea I have revolving around the Fierce Deity specifically, explaining the Fierce Deity outfit. Also, Termina is also home to a character similar to Ralph in Kafei. Red ends up in WotOK for similar reasons as Blue in Termina. Red being a farmboy would be right at home in WotOK due to lots loot to find for back home. After all, a farmer/rancher does make the perfect pirate. And the idea of Red being a thief was already teased in the Four Swords manga. Not to mention that Nintendo's Toon Link games do tend to take a lot of inspiration from One Piece as One Piece takes some inspiration from not only Dragon Quest but also Zelda also. Though, mainly the games that take inspiration from One Piece. However, I also do believe that Combsly is somehow related Linebeck as his name in Japanese is Allback, which is another connection to the WotOK, to explain the Linebeck outfit. And finally, to further back this up, in ALBW, the Maimais mention another world (likely Termina), implying that they not only actually from Termina, but Termina is or was in need of a hero at the moment. Which is where Blue Link comes in. Also, Green Link has Majora's Mask in his house, which implies that maybe somehow, Green and the other Two Links already know each other. Perhaps Blue gave Green the Majora's Mask or a replica of the mask as a gift from one of his travels to Termina. There's also a picture of a Korok face (specifically Makar's I think) somewhere. Maybe Red heard stories about the Hero of the Winds and his adventures that he told from folk in the WotOK. The reason we don't see or hear anything of Red or Blue in ALBW at all is because they're both on their own adventures. And afterward, the legend told in TFH takes place. Then generations later is when TFH happens. Anyways, sorry for the long comment, I just had a lot to mention and talk about. And I know my theory and headcanon is probably so crazy and far fetched. I normally tend to sometimes avoid posting my ideas online because whenever I do, people always tear them apart. But this is one of those times where I just couldn't help myself. I can not help that I'm fan who really loves the series and happen to have my own ideas to help expand upon the lore of the Zelda series that I love to share. I just really love this series and it's lore so much!
I think the aLBW hero being part of the first generation of Tri Force Heroes and the TFH game's Link being a later generation is an interesting take. But in that same vein, might it instead be that the aLBW Link is still the TFH Link, and the Link from aLttP/LA/OoA/OoS was part of that first generation of Tri Force Heroes? Perhaps that could even be where he was sailing to/from during Link's Awakening? As for the Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass references, in a game as silly and costume-focused as this, I'm not inclined to give 2 cute reference costumes added as DLC post-launch too much credence. I don't even consider the reference costumes in BotW/TotK, or that Majora's Mask in Link's (Between Worlds) house all that seriously. The Zelda team really loves their references, and often puts zero thought into their lore implications. And for the voices, I just think the devs used the sound files they conveniently already had on hand, so I don't think it's an intentional connection. But then again, developer intention often gets sidelined when theory-crafting, lol. And while I forgot that the Maimais were from another world, since it takes place in the game "a Link Between *Worlds* ", wouldn't it be more intuitive to conclude they might come from Lorule? The babies are spread across both Hyrule and Lorule. Plus Mother Maimai even enhances the specific items that Ravio (a Lorulian) sells to you. I don't mean this to "tear your theory apart" or anything. But it's also important to have theories questioned and challenged so you can better refine them. Good ol' constructive criticism. Iron sharpens iron and all that. Regardless, there are some interesting ideas here, and I'm very glad you enjoyed my video!
For whatever it's worth, there's an implication that the old man in Kakariko is the Link from LttP, and possibly the grandfather of the one in World. So not too many generations between blue Link and Ralph if true.
I honestly forgot there were supposed to be four links in four swords. When I got this game, I just called it the new four swords game. I am also definitely one of those friendless loners who played the game alone. It's the same reason I can't play four swords, even though I have the dual GBA cartridge (apart from not having a link cable).
I just think Link just... divided himself (not decupled) somehow by magic. The common health bar is what makes me think that. In FS and FSA, all 4 Links had an independent life bar.
Or the Green haired Link is descended from some character from the unfinished never released 3rd Oracle game. 😊 I like this theory about Triforce Heroes being an unofficial sequel to the Oracle series.
I like this theory so much because before the Eshop closure, there was screenshots of the game showed the icons of Red and Blue names one the bottom touch screen. There names are:
Red: Talon
Blue: Ralph
I’m honestly not sure if this is a coincidence or intentional because this theory reminded me of those screenshots. Sadly the Eshop closed so we might not be able to see it again :(
REALLY??? I never saw those, but if that's the case, that's actually awesome!
Those were just easter eggs. There has been footage out there of official gameplay where they had other familiar names like Marin or Malon, and even Holly. I think Zelda might've been one of them too. And I pretty sure there were a bunch of others. I think they only had those names as fun references because there were so many of them that were used.
@@brosephlacasquevtuber I can vouch for that comment, the names are shown in this trailer:
ruclips.net/video/HHiHmsK6lcw/видео.htmlsi=Q8hDZzViRX5Q0fEr
Honestly, it was insane stumbling upon your video, because I kid you not, I posted on reddit months ago about a headcanon I had about the Blue Triforce Hero being named Ralph because of that specific trailer, and I went with the idea that the TH Ralph might be related to OFA Ralph given both are a generation apart.
Really? I'd actually theorized that the blue one could be a descendent of Ralph since he was basically Labrynna's Link. Sweet, sweet valiation.
1:21 Apparently, they did consider having Purple Link in the game! However, it was cut down to just three Links during development because, and I quote, “A four-player totem was too tall.”
Super weird but since you're required to have someone play all of the characters in the multiplayer I guess it's kind of good?
@@BLOODY__FATALITY
I wish that wasn't a limit, lol
I tried playing it with a friend but there were only two of us
I wish it was handled like Four Swords Adventures and you could play with any number between 1 and 4. Any Links missing a player in those games just followed another Link, and you could even pick them up to steal them from another player
Probably even easier in Tri-Force Heroes since there are no formations. You just have doppels kinda vibing that you can switch to.
There was no reason to limit it to 1 or 3 players
plus its easier to get 2 friends to play with than 3 and to design puzzles for a 3 man toten
so they might be 2 out of 3 clones from four sword
@@Billyblue98 The thing I like about Four Swords Adventures is while it's nice to play it with friends, there's also benefits to playing on single player such as being able to use either a GBA or GameCube controller and the formation system, especially the diamond formation that covers all four directions and they even do a large spin attack together.
My favorite part of Zelda lore is the idea that just holding a sword straight out and spinning in a circle is some kind of mindblowing technique that only someone blessed by the gods could hope to achieve.
from what I'm told, the spin attack is a terrible move irl. one on one, you are turning your back on your enemy, and against multiple opponents, your blade will loose all momentum on the first hit
maybe the secret technique is not the spin, but rather the ability to go against all tactical logic and somehow making it work
Link is basically the Oracle games baby's Godfather.
Agreed. Tingle got like 2 games yet we have Malon and Ravio sitting on the sidelines here
Ravio is purple link and he returned to Lorule
My head canon for the hair color is that the three Links are required to be linked together by a spell to use the Triforce teleporters, and the spell is what makes their hair different colors, the colors associated with courage, wisdom, and power. This is why all three players share the same hearts, can look at another player's perspectives who's on the other end of the map (tap and hold their icon on the bottom screen), and why all three players need to stand together to teleport to the next area. This may or may not change the color of their clothes too since it does from our perspective as the players, or maybe you're just playing as the other Links when you're not the lobby host. To start a lobby you need to talk to the old man, and after a strange chant your hair turns green while you wait for other heroes to show up and be linked to you through the spell
This also explains how the doppels work, they're wooden statues made to look like the hero, and by using a different but similar linking spell, one hero's soul can be linked to the doppels, letting him move his soul between them and take turns controlling each one.
My guess is that "straight up required" is the most likely for Oracles to find someone so that the power continues to exist or something like that, with "highly encouraged" being second place in terms of chances, if we go with the interpretation that the oracle's power is a bloodline thing.
in the japanese version the oracles are referred to as shrine maidens questwithaaron has a video explaining this
@@darkdagger5237 That wouldn't necessarily preclude them from being part of a bloodline of shrine maidens that inherit a spiritual power from their ancestor though.
Your commentary style is so good. "I mean technically Link's Awakening takes place somewhere other than Hyrule, but, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...."
Red and Blue Link being Din an Nayru descendants makes so much sense! Thanks for bringing up this wholesome idea!
I am so glad you enjoyed. Those characters don't get enough attention in my opinion.
Dinny and Naythan
I mean, the demand is always there for a map video (sample size of one).
It's just if you want to make it or not, I guess. Good vid, again.
I guess the real blue link is the friends we made along the way! 😃
LBW Voice- Hyrule
WW/ST Voice- Ocean King
Oot/MM Voice- Termina
Personally I'd just go Occam's razor on this one.
Termina doesn’t exist anymore. Majora created it and when he died link’s heart kept it around. Once he left it disappeared.
@@riacal7754not the fever dream theory again that's already been debunked
Tri Force heroes was underrated. It was genuinely really fun!
12:50 I just love these random explosions
Those are my favorite edits I did in this video.
People tend to overlook the smaller 2D handheld games when there's bigger, shinier, and edgier 3D console games to theorize about -_-
Okay so I just saw Ralph and Maple's official arts for the first time, and wow that's absolutely not the way their pixel arts made me think they looked like.
Map theories are always welcomed! I would love to see more of those.
If Fire Emblem is anything to go by, blue hair is definitely a dominant trait
Well blue is often a kind of an over-stylized raven black hair, so that tracks I guess.

Dang, you really did go and name a whole ass child Poops huh

In my experience, insisting on your theory despite lack of evidence/reasonable counterpoints is how you make haters. I'd like to avoid that whenever possible, lol.
If I’m being completely honest, you are one of my favorite theorists on this entire website. You never insist that you’re right, constantly second guess and fact check. And always try and use Occams Razor whenever you can. I personally would LOVE to see more theories from you. They all are always well researched and edited to perfection. I got a couple of ideas for ones that I haven’t seen any good videos on yet:
.Timeline(echoes of wisdom included)
.Locomo history/origins
.How many different Dimensions/Realms there are+their origins
.Did any of Links Awakening affect the rest of the timeline?
OH MY GOODNESS YES YOU HAD THE SAME IDEA AS ME OF INCLUDING THE ORACLE GAME COUNTRIES

Though also “tomboyish Oracle nayru of this generation” Is such a fun concept that i might include that somehow
Rewatching this video does lead me to feel like Hydro SHOULD be labrynnan
My mind immediately jumped to "dark world counterparts of the other links in the four swords games." 🤣
I'm happy to see more "Massaging" of the maps with a hacksaw from you lmfao
These speculation and deep dive videos about a specific topic in a game is some of my favorite RUclips content. I wish I could have enjoyed Triforce heroes more as I loved the goofyness and dress up gimmick but the single player mode is such a sludge to get through.
Also there being three canonical unrelated Links at the same time was a trivia I didn’t know. Wild.

Me personally, my own custom lure is that the guy that you talk to the weird wizard man connect you to another link from another dimension hints the different colored hair and that’s why when you’re not connected you were just a plain normal green link
My dream is we get botw 3 and we go to holodrum and labrynna
My dream BotW 3 takes place on the North continent from Zelda 2.
But an open world map that combines Holodrum and Labrynna, perhaps even with the return of time travel and weather manipulation magic would be sick.
I refuse to believe that green link is the same link from albw, there's so many link drawings that are specifically from that game, that's such strong evidence and yet people just point out "it's just an Easter egg"

I think the reason why I hated this game was because I didn’t have anyone else to play with

More Zelda is in the pipeline, but I am going to be spacing it out a bit so as to not paint myself into a corner.
i love small channels like these
My personal head canon is that the Hero doesn't fully reincarnate, but sends out shards of his soul fused with new souls. If The Hero of Twilight is literally the same guy as the Hero of Time, how could the Hero of Time's Ghost still be lingering around when a new hero has been born? At the same time it also means more than one Link can be born at the same time. All three Links are different fragmental reincarnations of the same guy.
This is a very Very VERY interesting theory! Keep 'em comin'!
Awesome Video Bro!
For whatever it's worth, there's an implication that the old man in Kakariko is the Link from LttP, and possibly the grandfather of the one in World. So not too many generations between blue Link and Ralph if true.
Hey connections to my 5th fav Zelda game/s is great. Great vid and cute hypothesis.
One of them is Link, the other 2 are just some guys that look like Link and just happen to have the name of link.
This is so underrated! Loved it from start to finish😊
I just think Link just... divided himself (not decupled) somehow by magic. The common health bar is what makes me think that. In FS and FSA, all 4 Links had an independent life bar.
I'd love another map video!
Love this theory, definitely my headcanon now
11:16 good memories…
0:10 damn it, what timeline is it on?
2:30 oh thank goodness! thats death timeline, which in my cannon never happens.
Or the Green haired Link is descended from some character from the unfinished never released 3rd Oracle game. 😊
I like this theory about Triforce Heroes being an unofficial sequel to the Oracle series.
2:02 and from tri force heros too!
I freaking love this game. One of my favs Zelda games.
OH MAN, long time since I hear from this game lol
Definitely do the map theory part 3 if you feel like it!
God I’d love to see a Ravio based game…
