I was at this live, first row, and I was absolutely amazed at how good the singing and the playing in general was, for a live. I've seen a lot of bands, hundreds of them, in concert, and this was easily among the top 10 best performances I've seen, I'd even say top 5. They really sound great live. The energy is there. The lighting is top notch. What more can you ask for ? It was bliss for 90min.
This ☝The amount of energy on stage is just unbelivable. The band is burning churches and sacrifying goats and there is me in the front row weeping my eyes out as they are just SO good.
Melissa Daoust , I love this band but sometimes his vocals get to me, only when he does the aaahhhh stuff, musically there brilliant👍also lucky enough to have seen them in my own town twice in the uk 🤘
30 minutes in and FINALLY they find a groove and get the crowd to connect. I love these guys and their music and musicianship is straight stellar, but I hope they reorganize their setlist so that some energy finds its way in much sooner. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Man, that crowd was just in shock with the awesome sound, they didnt have the wherewithal or ability to move with the music. Ive been there when I was watching Tool at a concert. Its like being hypnotized
I almost wonder how it doesn't happen more often. I was at this live, and I was absolutely amazed at how good his singing was, live. I've seen a lot of bands, hundreds of them, in concert, and this was easily among the top 10 best performances I've seen, I'd even say top 5 in term of sound - they really sound great live.
Szabolcs Mate while I agree that should be doing massive stages and they well deserve it...this is pretty intimate. I wish I could be front row and singing along to their music and be noticed. You know?
Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with music industry. Consumers tastes are the ones that are "broken". But that's why bands like Leprous have a devoted fan group.
It's easy... It's because these crappy conglomerate media companies cannot find tons of random musicians that actually have talent and pump them out one after another. So they take people they can make look attractive and then produce simple crappy stuff and fix their suckiness in the studio and send em on their way. This stuff gets hidden from the mainstream because it will raise the bar and their audiences' expectations.
I agree these guys should be be bigger, I'd for sure love it, but also, I think it's good we have bands like this that are more niche. Let's be honest, if these guys were an arena or bigger selling band, they'd sound nothing like this. Their songs would be shorter, and it would be a, "don't bore us, get to the chorus" mentality. I love some bigger bands, and we have some outliers like Slipknot that are not mainstream friendly and well are very mainstream, but yeah not everybody can pull that off. I guess I see this all like video games. Some of my favorites are the indie and AA titles. The AAAs are great, but so many are ruined by micro transactions, more recently NFTs, rushed designs, yada yada yada. Sometimes having a more niche band that doesn't have a lot of hands all over them is a good thing. I hope this band finds success and a good living, but I'd be totally okay if they never become the next Foo Fighters or Ghost. I bet they just wouldn't be this. Or who knows really. People are weird.
@@dominicspizzirri4399 Dream Theater is pretty mainstream and play some bigger venues that fill up. They became my favorite band back in around '94 for a little over 20 years and then I kind of moved onto other progressive rock/metal. Tastes change as we get older I suppose is true.
In my opinion both tesseract and leprous kill tool both younger bands yes but talent isnt based on age and they dont make people wait 300 yrs to hear a stinker like tool did on the 2nd most recent album that was a joke the new one isnt much better in fact I hear blatant ideas rehashed all over the place I can name drop riffs from aenima etc
@@nmac3718 I have to say that i am very satisfied with theis new album. Invincible is becoming my favorite song from the. Good and well crafted songs, very interesting and unique. Leprous is also great, they are a very classy prog group. Baar is marvelous on drums and vocals are awesome, of course.
Is there a video of this beautiful cello intro (or the rest of this show) without people blabbering on and on over top of it the entire time NON STOP? Holy cow, why go to a show if you aren't going to close your mouth the whole time?
Great show!!!!!! damn!!!!! Help! anybody know how did they run this show? midi light control, video, seq, click tracks, etc, which software should i use, if i want to run something similar?
No he didn’t. The crowd we’re out of time with the music, but the music was perfectly in time. If you listen carefully he is totally locked in step with the guitar. Any good musician knows not to take their beat from the clapping of a crowd.
They actually talk about it in the promo for Pitfalls; they think the songs from Tall Poppy Syndrome are in a complete different vibe from all the other albums
As someone who has followed them for years I was disappointed as no tracks off Bilateral either on the UK tour. I understand they have "progressed" and they certainly are drawing bigger crowds now. But still I'm a bit sad....
THE intro is magic... but what the bass player make or guitar player made in debut ????? Come on...it's not professional ! Tune guitar in back stage ! :)
Leprous is dead in 2012. Now it's only Einar Solberg's Band. He is so narcissistic. Creativity level : one note riffs. The biggest imposture of 2010's metal
I can kinda see where youre coming from but thats just not true. Shurke is also there from the start and I dont see how you can view Einar as narcissistic. Also the one note riff stuff is just straight up wrong. Malina had some of their best riffs and TPS and Bilateral had some "one note" riffs too. Yes, Bilateral and TPS are their best albums but their new stuff is amazing too.
While their newer stuff is scaled back and less heavy/distorted, Pitfalls and Aphelion are anything but 'one-note' riffs. You can make that argument about The Congregation (and to a lesser extent, Malina) sure, but Einar has already admitted that TC was his most solo-like album due to the lineup changes at the time.
Horrible take. They continue to push boundaries and create new sounds that I could only define as "Leprous". Baard is one of the best drummers on earth, regardless of his time in the band. And Einar is certainly exploring new avenues but it's still incredibly fresh and Leprous is one of the most legit bands on the planet
I love this band so much. That "I am not that strong" from stuck always almost makes me tear up. I'm a grown man, muscular, and always assumed to be strong on all fronts. But I am not. It resonates. On a level emotionally I cannot convey. To anyone. This band. Fuck.

This was probably the video that got me hooked in Leprous, I was really impressed, instantly!
Baard is a beast!
Amazing backing vocals by everyone in that band...hats off!
And Raphael (on the cello) absolutely killed it!!
Good times!!!

I am way into this. That late set vocal and string composition was puuurrfect
I fucking love this band for whatever reason. Their music is just mesmerizing.
The missing ending of Rewind can really piss me off, it´s one of my favourite Leprous pieces at all.
I like these guys, so much. Great songs!
I would seriously pay some good money to see them touring with Caligula's Horse!
1:05:55 Absolute bliss!!!
1:26:57 Einar is amazing, but sometimes its hard for him too, I suppose.
Happens to everyone every gig. We are all just humans
After nearly 90 minutes singing at the top of his range, still impressive.
just a little reminder that he is, in fact, a human
a set this long is hard on even the greatest of vocalists especially when as energetic as they are.
