I have experienced it Live at Royal Albert Hall as a warm up for Devin Townsend, and on Sentrum Scene in Oslo. Leprous Live is a great experience. Maybe i should go to an Opeth concet aswell.
@@DwendeleYou should listen to Between the buried and me Live ;-). I just heard Leprous play this live last Thursday in Groningen the Netherlands. What the hell was that? It's like a religious experience, the singer is incredible, surprising that he has much more power during his clean singing, the harsh one being a little thin, from my perspective. The intensity of the entire band is pure joy to witness, main drummer is insanely good.
"It's like a religious experience"...That is exactly what my brother-in-law said about this when he saw them play Boston a few weeks ago. A beast on the drums!

Wow. Just wow… Sound guy deserves as much credit as the band holy shit. Prob the best sounding stage recording of any band of any genre I’ve ever heard
I've worked with a production where we had two drummers on stage. Even at top level of musicianship there were flams at times. It's absolutely crazy to put two drummers on stage and have them play synced this well throughout.
I cannot in all honesty call myself a fan of Leprous but this may be the most stunning performance ive witnessed in this millenium. This had it all, the big fat sound, the passion, the production and oh fuuuuck the vocals just burned me from within. Here i sit completely exhausted without lifting a finger, i couldnt have if i wanted to . Mesmerized, stunned and aching for more.
They make some questionable music imo, but they have some insanely talented musicians in their band... Baard Kolstad is one of the most technical/best drummers I can think of... I am not a huge fan of some of their music (although the other half is brilliant) but I would pay good money to see them live if the opportunity ever arose.
The production here is nothing short of insane. Most live productions of this kind, despite how great the performance, sound stripped of what makes the live experience so great. This, though...this is something else entirely. Not only does it almost feel like I'm there (thanks to some really masterful mixing), but all the musical elements have come together in a way that I've seldom, if ever, heard before on a live recording. To say that I'm eager to listen to the rest is an understatement.
Agree'd, very rare live mixes sound great, especially when you have a BIG sound like this- Hats off to their sound engineer and the man at the venue behind the tables.
The guy is a musical genious. @Toxic Potato Einar and Tor are the founding members and main songwriters. While yes, it's ridiculous to chock up a whole band's talent to one person, there is absolutely reason to compliment and attribute the band's songwriting to Einar. He's not just there to "look pretty and sing well", that's equally disrespectful and assumes he's akin to the majority of other metal/prog vocalists. @Toxic Potato But really Einar is a musical genius... so, What's the problem? Not only as a vocalist (he is one of the best rock singers nowadays and that's a great merit) he is keyboard and songwriter too.
Despite listening to them over the last few years, I still love how small details like Einar's voice crumbling down in emotions in "Cloud Of Dust" and other gritty touches in (@2:17 ) ; such a performance. The instruments create such a space for Einar's vocals and space around his voice so well. Kudos to all the artists.
