I spent several hours over two days before discovering this video. I've not had luck with many technical videos, but thought I would try this anyway. Other laptop devices always show up on our home network. The only two which don't show up are our two 8TB NAS drives. One is our primary NAS, the other is a mirror backup. We keep all documents on our NAS and never put data on local PC hard drives. My PC is also our PLEX media server. Over 800 movies, 30 TV Shows, 500 music, 10,000 vacation photos, and surveillance video is kept on our NAS drives. After installing a new desktop three days ago, I could not map our two NAS drives. This video worked and saved me. My wife can now watch "Big Little Lies" on PLEX. Thank you!!!
-- Your 'Stab in the Dark' is perfect to the letter. I scavenged the internet and Microsoft looking for a fix for this. Nothing. Your solution worked flawlessly. I could see the computers on my network, but could not access them. Conversely, other computers could see the one I had problems with, and read and write in it's share file. Odd. This took care of it. Thanks a bunch.
OMG Seagate Personal Cloud wouldn't show on network...3 days of google searches and nothing would work... stumbled onto this..... followed steps exactly and BAM!!! personal Cloud is visible and usable THANK YOU !!
Thank you for this video. Why would Microsoft make it so difficult to turn on networking capability. I have spent countless hours on so many forums to solve this problem. Only your methods worked. THANK YOU!!!
A big thank you. You explained what the problem was FIRST. Then all your instructions were clear. And they were ALL required. Wow. That's a big change for Microsoft to make.
After spending much time and effort with many tutorials about windows file sharing not allowing the viewing of files, your description and steps made the fat lady sing! thank you for an informative and working solution. Had covered all the steps you offered which were found from other sources, but the last step was what was missing. Thanks for this solution and the sharing begins!
HOLY SHIT YOUR LAST STEP FIXED IT THANK YOU. I think this is literally the first Windows 10 fix video that has ever worked for me for any types of bugs...
You need a medal my friend.. After hours of hours of all these years trying to solve, again and again, this stupid Microsoft network problem, resolved within seconds!!!
Thank you very much. I needed to upgrade all the computers in my office to Windows 10 due to health care regulations. My IT guy just retired so I launched this endeavor on my own. Your video saved the day and saved me a lot of time.
YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! Thanks for helping me. PC Guru with 30 years experience and could not figure out how to access network server after reset. You saved my ass. Thanks so much!!
WHY ARE YOU SEEMINGLY THE ONLY PERSON ON THE WEB WHO KNEW ABOUT THE POLICY EDIT?! Excuse the shouting but yours was the ONLY troubleshooting guide/thread/whatever I could find with the correct fix action. Bless you, you prince of gamers, you...
I spent hours looking to find a solution. All of them pretend to solve and fix this issue but without any results. This video with all the steps is best and the only real solution to this problem. Many thanks
Hooray!!! Many thanks. After wasting many hours with the geniuses at microsoft and getting nowhere, I tried every possible solution suggested on the internet without success. Only your 3 video suggestions and guidance worked. Again many, many thanks...
Thank you! Like most of the other commenters, I spent hours searching the internet and none of the solutions worked. Your combination of tips fixed my issue.
I've spent tons of hours on the internet trying to solve this and nothing worked, and your video solved everything!! Easy and straight to the point! Thank you sooo much!!!
I've been fighting this for 2 weeks after a Windows install... I've watched dozens of videos, read forums... and crap. But this WORKED! You are the man!! And I really appreciate you putting this together!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first installed my WD MyCloud 4TB NAS it worked flawlessly... I had one folder listed as drive Z on both computers (W7 & W10)... It's been about 2 yrs and I just did a reset on the W10 system and have been trying for 2 days to get my NAS back. Came across your video and said here we go again, another fail. And I couldn't wait to post how your "guaranteed" fix ended just like the other 15, and I got to tell you........................................................IT WORKED!...................What I don't get is everything installed flawlessly the first time. I guess the "reset" really reset everything. Thanks a lot, hopefully this is all I have to worry about.
First and probably only post/video on the web that shows ALL the steps. I had major issues with a home network consisting of Win8.1 and Win10 devices that didn't wanna work together. This solved everything. Bookmarked, subbed and liked. Thanks a lot man.
Spot on! Searched Google and couldn't find the solution, thankfully this fixed the problem. Thank you for making this video as it's very discriptive and accurate. Windows sucks can't believe they disabled networking features in such a drastic way.
You are SPOT ON!!! Been struggling with this issue for so long, and none of the articles and videos I found worked (completely wrong or have missing steps). You're a STAR my friend!
i really can't thank you enough for this video. I've been searching for nearly a week and trying different combinations of various "fixes". None of them mentioned you last point. I'm thrilled beyond words. Thank you.
After searching many forums wondering why after doing everything correctly on omv my server was still not showing in network i followed everyone of you clear instructions and hey presto jobs a goodun. Worked like a charm, so thankyou very much for time to make this video tutorial.
Awesome, I just picked up a second hand W10 tablet, with no access to any of my local network gear, and thanks to your video, it's all working fine now, Massive Thanks to You !
Dude, you saved my life, haha. Thank you. I had done most of what you showed here, still no success. I was missing the last part you show in your video, did it and now things work fine. Thx
I had a problem with error 0x80070035; and went to many web pages and saw several videos. Yours was the last one. Yours worked; so many others didn't. THANK YOU!
IT WORKED... sorry for shouting but as you guessed ive been trying for days to get one laptop to see the main PC without success, the other three worked fine. This is a guaranteed fix with easy to follow instructions. Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!!
99% of the youtube vids and forum posts regarding this issue walk you through identical procedures that don't work - finally stumbled across this vid and because it offered a different procedure it gave me hope! well my hope was rewarded, this vid finally solved the prob!!! thanks a ton!!!!
It's a miracle, I've fought with this for months. Works for Windows 10 Enterprise version 20H2 as well! You my friend are an absolute legend.I freaking love you! This was stressing me out big time, I was going nuts. I spent hours rectifying this error and I finally figured it out by ur help. Thank you soooooo much. U just earned yourself a new subscriber. Cheers!
You are BEAUTIFUL, I didn't believe it would work right up until the moment my server appeared for the 1st time in months. So many hours of frustration just dripped off my shoulders in a flash. Thank you Mr Magic :)
Thank you VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY much!!!!! You were the ONLY one out there with the real solution. I'm so tired of doing ipconfig and netsh commands! It's 24 December so MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Spent hours on MS Tech Support to cure this issue. Was finally told that because I had more than 5 computers on my network, it couldn't be fixed. After watching the video, it took me all of a minute to go through the settings and change them to your correct settings, it worked perfectly. F'ing MS....thanks so much!! Mine was Win10-Pro, 1809...
Thank you!! Coming from a Windows 7 install, it became quite apparent some things just don't work the way they did in 7. Followed your instructions and everything is back to normal. Cheers
Thank you! Thank you! I was seeing bits and pieces around the net about this but nothing that explained it as concisely and complete as you did! Thank you.
Thank you so much. Love your work especially the way you simplified and explained each step. Keep up the great work. It's about time someone out there publishes the correct solution "Guaranteed".
You solved the problem! I spent over a month trying to figure out this head-scratcher. Even rebuilt the Windows machine - and still no luck. After following your instructions, I finally received an error message that made sense - "turn on network discovery." After I turned it on, everything worked perfectly. Makes you wonder what MS is thinking in making this so incredibly difficult.

At least they haven't totally killed it so that's the good news.
@@shriebrown3500 Thanks! after reading your previous comment about SMB 1, I tried to reset my settings which were changed following this video. I discovered that by just ENABLING >> LANMAN WORKSTATION does the trick! I could now access shared files/folders on my other computer (Windows 7).
