    I have been using the Paula's choice blue resist advanced replenishing toner for 8 years+ or so looong before the current milky toner trend! imo they are pioneers in the US market for this as they have had this product for a decade+. It's my one HG can't do without all year round product. every time i'm out my skin misses it. None of the newer ones even piqued my interest since the PC is perfection imo. I did try the Mary may n don't like it as it's greasy in the way that sits on top of my skin. but the ordinary is def intriguing. I might have to check it out.

    I have oily skin but I love milky toners. I used Paula’s Choice Advanced Replenishing Toner for years until I discovered K beauty. I have a sample size of I’m From’s rice toner. Last night I layered it for the first time and it was lovely. Otherwise my go to and first Korean toner that I’m still using is Purito’s oat toner. Not many people talk about this! It’s milky, but watery and light. It’s so simple and soothing and smells like delicious oats. It always calms my skin down no matter what is going on, including hives!

    I have dry skin (made dehydrated and even dryer by isotretinoin) and have been using the Byoma milky toner for a month or so now. My skin absolutely loves it. I use it after a watery toner, and before a hydrating/calming serum and a moisturiser. I also use the Byoma face mist throughout the routine. I’m finding it’s helping to keep my skin calm and is reducing the amount of flaky skin as the isotretinoin dose is increased compared to just using the watery toner, serum, moisturiser and face mist. It’s kinda been the missing ingredient that’s brought the rest of the products in the routine together

    Hi Alice. I am using the Farmstay milky toner and it truly saves my skin when I suffer from inflammation and weak skin barrier function. It seems thicker than most milky toner but the immediate seeping into the skin is incredible. I have so far tried the Isntree Yam toner and also the Dr Ceuracle Milky toner and their really an essential step for a compromised skin... 😊
    Sad to say, despite the viral recommendation of Tir Tir, the niacinamide inclusion and some other ingredients are actually in my serum and moisturizer, so I will give it a miss... 😅

    I absolutely adore the texture and experience of the I'm From Rice toner. It was the exact level of moisture and hydration that my skin wanted, almost like it just sunk in instantly and plumped out my tight-feeling skin. I thought it would be a holy grail forever. Unfortunately, I often don't get along with rice products, so it burns horribly on me. I would highly recommend it to anyone who does not have my issues with rice irritation.

      Hmmm that's too bad, when I first started using the I'm From rice toner it did sting a little bit, but the sensation disappeared after a little while and it never broke me out or anything. But during that time my skins moisture barrier was compromised and I reacted to many things, and these days I don't feel that sensation at all from that toner, probably because the skin is in a happier place.

    I love the Dr Ceuracle. I tried the Mary and May and i didn't find them to be the same at all. Completely different imo. Mary and May didn't wow me. The I'm From Rice stung my skin and it left a film on my face The Thank you Farmer was too thick for me and felt heavy on the skin. My favorite milky toner is PC Skin Recovery Toner ❤ The PC Resit Replenishing Toner is nice too its thicker and has a serum like texture. I do wanna try the ordinary one at some point.

    I usually stick to lightweight toners and hydrating products, but since strati BBG tret, my face is peeling to DEATH and so dry?. I definitely think I need more moisture. Do you think these 2 are too heavy? Or layerable ?

    So many opinions! But first I want to start with a question. All the toners have a milky appearance, but there are toners in your list (specifically I'm from) that I'd personally categorize as far less hydrating and moisturizing than some clear products I've seen. Do you feel the term milky as used focuses more on the appearance than the properties?
    As far as opinions: 1) I personally don't like the Thank You Farmer toner, but I don't believe you've miscategorized it. My problem is that, similar to previous versions of the Laneige Cream Skin, as I haven't tried the reformulation, I found the Thank You Farmer to be a bit too occlusive for me especially at the toner/essence step. 2) Back to back on the occlusive step, I find a large difference between the Dr. Ceuracle and Mary & May products. Neither is as occlusive and both are moisturizing, but I find the Dr. Ceuracle to be far more moisturizing and hydrating in a direct comparison. Mary & May became a body product for me, which it does well at, because somehow I felt as though it was more disruptive in my routine than beneficial because it didn't give me the benefits but somehow felt like it blocked follow-up products from sinking in a bit more. I have found a product in Japan called the Tatami Tokyo Barrier Essence Lotion II (version I is a lighter form) that I need to try more because it's not dual phase but I really liked my first impression back of the hand test for performance in this category. 3) I love the I'm From Rice Toner... but I absolutely to not feel it is a good hydrating or moisturizing product and agree with your general critiques. Instead when used consistently I feel it has the benefits of a first essence in providing minimal hydration and promoting overall skin health (texture, strength, balance). To this extent I actually feel it serves like the SK-II essence in terms of "anti-aging" even if it's not a retinol level active.

      @AliceintheRabbitHole  7 дней назад +1

      Yep, you got it: milky toners are, imo, defined by their appearance. But appearance certainly isn’t everything!
      Yeah it’s so funny, regarding the M&M vs Dr. C, I’ve now talked to people who do well with one but not the other as well as people who feel they are “dupes”. I suspect it could be as simple as some kind of minor irritation from an ingredient making the other choice the clear winner. Or it could be that some ingredients are hidden heroes (someday I want to go off about this: I think we all have hero ingredients for our skin. For example, one of mine is bifida; for others, it could be kombucha!) but yep I digress, I can’t personally pick a clear winner lol!

    • @masonjeq4261
      @masonjeq4261 7 дней назад

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole I'm sure it does have to do with ingredients, but maybe not in the way you suggest for this product. I use the Dr. C essence for the immediate effect of how it penetrates the skin can has follow up vs. a long-term skin benefit. For someone with a simpler routine using it last or second to last half my issues would vanish. Similarly someone with oilier skin may find the Dr. C overbearing. I'm sure some do identify a more long term benefit from the ingredients, but for me it's almost an immediate effect similar to the primer people choose for makeup where it depends on what you want to get out of it and what's going on next. Still my guess is the effect comes from a choice of the moisturizing ingredients and how well they penetrate vs. sit on top of any given person's skin.

    The saccheromycis yeast should not be left in the product. The yeast is just the little beautiful mikroorganism that ferments the rice for us so that all the ingredients are small enought and helpful for our skin. I know you know that Alice but the rest might not.
