Cool review guy's. From Aus and stocked with the Chicago road course, You may SVG next year as his boss Jamie from 888 said that he would not stand in his way if he wants to go. Shane has won it all over here so he is up for a challenge. Mate there are another 10 SVG's in the Super car series. It's been 10 years since Ambrose was racing so the interest in NASCAR is being rejuvenated out here. Love the review.

Here on Australia, we race on a lot of street tracks in various cities around the country. Every city loves it, and can't wait for the circus to come to town. People travel from all over for the races & bring in a lot of money for local businesses throughout the cities.
I hope Nascar expand it to a few more cities each year. They generate a lot of money for the cities. For example, the first race at Townsville generated nearly $20million
We also have the Formula 1 show come here each year on a street course in the city of Melbourne. A great show each year.
But you guys are right about 'Gizzy'. It would have been a completely different story if it had been an oval track for his first Nascar race. He even said so himself, in one of his post race interviews. He's driven a lot of different types of cars around the world. He will adapt. Expect to see him over there in 2025 with a full time drive. Cheers guys.

I just want to point something out. After Shane won the race everyone was saying of course he was going to win, he drives street races all the time. Prior to the race nobody mentioned him. It was only when he started to look dangerous, the commentators knew his name but still couldn't pronounce it. Then we hear Bs like he wouldn't cope on an oval. They said that about Scott Mclaughlin who was the V8 Supercar champ before Shane. Scott came second place in his first ever Indy car race on an oval in his first season doing it. He came second to Scott Dixon. Another Kiwi. Another fact. V8 Supercars is an Australian series. For the last six years new Zealanders, Scotty Mac and SVG have dominated it. Watch out America, we are coming for you next. Lol.

Get SVG back again for Indianaoplis road course and or Watkins Glen if it suits his schedule, he's a big viewer drawcard after that Chicago race...that's what street races do, big city crowds and big promotion opportunities....SVG raced dirt and drift as well, he goes great anywhere. ...Ovals don't present the same left hand drive issues he had to cope with last weekend, he'd be fine in no time.

Giz will get signed up, no problem, maybe RedBull will come back in with him? Anyway, he’d do very well on your road courses, top5 consistently I’d say, with frequent podiums. On the Ovals I’d give him a dozen races, maybe less, before he starts making positions. He’s extremely studious and has freaky skills. He only has to learn, his talent does the rest. If you can include a few drivers from this side of the pond you’ll have 2 new countries following NASCAR, oh if you have more road and street courses. 😉
Eventually it’d be nice if NASCAR loaded up the Jumbos and headed down under for a weekend at Bathurst. It would blow your minds.

Don't forget, a sequential shift is just that, sequential. No opportunity to "miss" gears on purpose like a H pattern going maybe 4th to 2nd. They sound like a good thing but you have to change your style a bit.

When Marcos Ambrose made it into the Cup Cars driving the Toyota, it was clear that Kyle Busche was the quickest on the ovals and Marcos the quickest on the road tracks....... but neither won the title.
Then Marcos went to Petty and found himself in a much SLOWER CAR...... but still almost a second quicker on the road tracks.
Kyle Busch was still the quickest on the ovals...... but still no titles.
The real race starts with only 10 laps to go.......use the early race to gauge track speed , fuel burn and tyre life.
Use the last 20 to 10 laps to get position.
Then use the last 10 laps to win...... basically what SVG did and how he has won 3 Supercars Championships.
In his early days, SVG was quicker than everyone in a small team and the quickest ever on a wet track....... but he couldn’t win a championship until he slowed down a little.
Now he wins on dirt ovals, drifting, endurance races, sports cars and everything else as well as V8 Supercars.
Not that many years ago he jumped into a Le Mans type sports car and set a new lap record on the final lap to win the race.
The faster you race, the quicker your tyres go off and the more fuel stops you need...... not to mention wear and tear on the suspension, steering , diff, gear box and all the bushes etc.
Winning drivers pace themself until the final sprint starts. lol

Watkins glen, sonama he would be top 10 and in the mix, only 5 tracks in supercars are street circuits, the rest are dedicated tracks except bathurst which is a public scenic drive turned into a racerack 6 times a year. Ovals he would learn quickly, ambrose did but came thru truck and nationwide series. Didnt exactly have the top notch teams either.

That was a shit take on Harvick being "smart" to block the track. He should have been sent to the back. unsporting and potentially dangerous. Also deliberately crashing to gain an advantage
